Nick stoppped in the nmiddle of the hallway. "alright. My office is through this doorway to the right.." The flickering torches and glowing rings allowed him to see the door. He pulled out his key again and opened the door. "Apparently the shurlups haven't come back here, yet." "Rand RI rope rhey ront rome rack rere" Scooby muttered. his sword wobbled a bitt as his paws shook. what had staerted out for him as a nice evening out with his cousin and Shaggy had turned into an adventure out of Jules Verne novel.
_ Dixie followed Nick closely ""Once we get there, one of us has to go back to let the others know we're okay, and where to go. '' nick nodded as they finally reached his office. the door had a small glass window in it. that had been shattered and much of the glass had fallen in. "It's probably a mess, but its better than nothing." he said as he opened the door. Nick went inside, followed closely by Scooby and Dixie. Stitch and angel folowed quietly behing them. they examined the area carefully, before emntering.

the office was a complete, broken glass sparkled on the floor. the desk at which Nick did most of his business work was turned on its side at an angle. the air was cold, Nick cold see his breath when he exhaled. "Well, its not much, but its better than nothing. Could you guys give me a hand in trying to move this desk ?' He asked , headingg over to the desk. Stitch got there fuirst, and to Nick's amazement, picked up the desk with apparently little effort> "TadDa!' He smiled as he held up the heavy desk. "That desk took 4 strong workers to move in here..' Nick said, wonder in his voice. "I can lift up to 3000 times my body weight. Stitch said, pride in his voice. "Ok, sop if you weigh say 30 pounds, that means you can lift up 90000 pounds?' Nick asked. "Thats the weigh of 8 elephants! wow1. anyway just move it.. over into that corner" He pointed to the left side of the room. "And please, be careful, that desk is very expensive1"

Seeing so many folks in the room Ducky stayed near the door way with Petrie near her. They were keeping watch for any of those things that attacked them earlier while the others were in the office.

"It does seem quiet here and safe, it does." Ducky said.

"But what about later?" Petrie said, a bit afraid as he looked around.

"Just be grateful that this place is safe for now..' Dixie replied to Petrie's query. she held her ring paw, casting light into corners as she examined the room. It was fairly snmall, enough to hold a small group of inhabitants. "Do you have any cots in case people need to sleep in here."She frowned. "Well, I haven't had to use them, but I do have two.." Nick replied, moving over to a door, ansdd opening it. a cot slid down into the room. Nick grunted and carried the cot into the middle of the room. "You guys can have this one" he said. "Mesa get left side!' Stitch said, jumping onto the cot, putting his claim to it. "You and Angel will have to shre..' Nick pointed out. Angel gave him a glance and shook her head. "Niktada subada" she said shaking her head again. "So you don';t want to share? well too bad. either you share, yor you sleep on the floor' Nick said firmly. "There will be 4 to a bed, Scooby abnd Stitch on one side, Angel and Dixie on the other" "Roys ron rone ride, rirls ron re rother, Ri rike it.." Scooby said, Putting his sword away, and deactiving his armor.

Nick brought out the other cot from the other side and Dixie and Angel helped set the cot next to the other one. "Ducky and Petrie, you guys can have this cot." He said to the swimmer and flyer. Once we get a few other people in here then it'll be time for bed. For now, yiou guys can accioompany me outside so we can tell Stripetail and the others its safe to come in."

"It safe now, but how about later?" Petrie asks.

"Then we'll deal with it then." Ducky said to Petrie.

Ducky and Petrie nod to what Nick said.

"Thank, you, very nice, it is." Ducky said.

"Thanks. " Petrie said.

Ducky nods again with what Nick said.

"Oh yes, we need to get the others in here, we do. It may be easier for them to rest in here, in case it rains or gets cold outside." Ducky said, nodding, and seeing how being inside would make things a bit more comfortable for those outside.

Let's go then" Nick said. "The 4 of you, stay here and keep an eye out for any shurlups" Stitch saluted in a psuedo-military manner. "Ys, sir!' he said a huge grin on his face. Scooby meanwhile had already curled up underneath the blankt thar served as a cover. Today had been a very eventful day.. and tommorow promised more of the same. Dixie deactivated her amor and prepared for bed herself. She got into bed, on the other side of Scooby, there was a good five feet of space between them. "Alright, cousin here is how this is going to work..' She began, but Scooby was already nodding off. She sighed. "Stitch, you'll sleep on Scooby's inside, Angel will sleep on my inside, and I'll sleep on the far right end of the bed." She said to the aleins, who were busy goofing off.

Nick left the room andf made his way back towards the door. The good news, was that they had secured a safe spot. the bad news was that they had no idea how many Shurlups they were up against. they hadn't met any on their trip. that was a good thing, Nick supposed.

Ducky and Petrie walked over to where Nick was.

"The sooner we can get to them the sooner they'll be able to rest in here." Ducky said with concern in her voice. "I hope we can get them here quickly, I do." Ducky said.

"Sooner we leave sooner, we return." Petrie said nodding, not wanting to be out there to long. He looked around a bit to see how things looked inside. "Sure we have enough room. Have to move some things?" He said looking around the room.

Ducky looked around, "Cleaning when there is more light may be also a good idea, if there is time." She said.

Nick led them out of the resteraunt and back to the camp. Stripetail smiled as he saw them coming. "I trust you found a safe place. " he said, fingerng his staff and gazing at Nick intently. "Well, We have found a place, my office, but i don't think you can fit everyone in there. "
_ Stripetail nodded. "Well we're only giing to have about ten in all. Ali for example is staying .."

I'm coming" the longneck replied. "I want to be with my friends" She shot the wizard a look. "I'm comuing along." Nick Shrugged. "You'll have to slep on the floor." 'I don't care" ali said, as Long As I close to my friends, I'll be fine.

"Is there a nearby area where you can put some that has an entrance to your office?" Ducky asked. "Maybe some can be there if you can not fit all into your office." She said wanting to get folks inside, and likely better then being outside here in case it rained or got cold.

"Where monsters no close." Petrie said. Not liking the idea of monsters being nearby any area.

Ducky looked at Ali, "I would very much like us to stay together if possible too, yes I would." She said liking the idea of them being together. Things would seem less strange and she'd be a bit more at ease with friends nearby.

"Petrie too." Petrie said nodding and agreeing with Ali and Ducky, liking the idea of them being together. He'd be a little less afraid with friends close by.

Talon, Kenji, and Underdog listened while the others gave their "report," and the limit of people that can fit in their "beach head."

'That doesn't leave a whole lot of room left in the office,' Kenji thought.

"I guess we can stay out here in camp," Talon was the one to add, his tone with a slight disappointment.

"No need to fret, my good dinosaur," Underdog said with confidence, "To keep the monsters from escaping the compound shouldn't be a bore."

"What did he say?" the raptor turned to the human.

"He said that we can set up a perimeter around the building to keep the shurlups from breaking out," Kenji replied.

"Oh..."

We can probably fit about 15 in the office" Nick said. "So.. we can add 11 more. Stripetail, myself, Ali, Underdog, Kenji Talon, we're all going.

Anyone else wish to copm,e along?' Stripetail said, looking t the gatheered group. "We can squeeze in two more. "As for the Shurlups, they have no real need to lea ve the area, once they have secured a breeding ground, they will stay there as long as it takes for the female to give birth to their pups. tghat usually takes a few weeks, sometimes as long as a week. We may be, then, stuck inside Nick's office for a week."

I'm coming too, Shaggy said. "although I'm not sure If I want to spend a whole week with the lot of you.. unless there's food, in which case, I'll make do."

"There may be room if we clean the messy broken stuff on the ground out, there may. Do you think there will be enough room in your office, or will another area have to be used as well?" Ducky said, then looking at Stripetail as she spoke the last part of her speech.

"It scary to separate. Safer as one herd then 2." Petrie said a bit scared of the idea of having to separate.

"I don't take up much room, as long as no big folk fall or roll over on me." Skitter said from where he stood.

'We'll simply have to squeeze everyone in by the cots. I only have two, and those have already been claimed." Nick said, replying to Ducky's question. "Having so many in a close areea will ensure that no one is really cold, because of the combined heat everyone is giving off. Plus Nani has a number of blankets.."

Ducky nods, "It will be safer for us all once we are together with the rest in the room, it will." She said. "As for cleaning if some want when everyone is rested maybe some will or maybe not. " Ducky said. She wanted to get to where the others were to both make sure they were ok and to get the 2 groups back as one since she had been taught and learned that it was safer in a herd then alone.

"Petrie think it safer there then here. Safer in numbers then alone." Petrie said sighing slightly. He'd prefer to be back in the Great Valley but he knew he could not just leave these folks here and his friends would not either.

"Fine, as long as I have a place no big folks will fall or roll over on me." Skitter said. When this commotion was over he'd head back through the tunnel and go back home, not telling any of the odd things that happened here, or if he did he'd pretend it was all a dream he had while taking a nap in a cave tunnel.

The magical squirrel did not have to repeat himself as Talon and Kenji grabbed their bags and started towards the back entrance, with Underdog following along. The human drew one of his swords as a precaution.
