"Thanks, I'll go check it out," Cynder said, eager to escape the prospective makeover. After having it explained, she realized that some creatures did do such things in her world, but dragons didn't.

We'll try it once, and if you still don't like it afterwards, we won't do it again. Alright?" She gave the dragoness a winning smile. "When I was a teenager, I didn't like makeovers either. So we have that in common...'

"Oh!" Spyro nodded. He felt a bit embarrased to misunderstand Scooby and almost wished Sparx was there. The dragonfly most certainly would have asked for a translation of that and spared Spyro the trouble.

"While Miss Dixie - is that right? good- will give you the facial makeover, we'll work on the rest of you, getting off the dead scales, cleaning the tough hard to reach places, like between your horns and behind your wings. We'll also file your claws down a bit, as they look a bit long. When we're done here , miss Cynder, you will be the talk of the dragons in your world. There's a lot of beauty in you, dear, we're here to help that beauty come out."

The other lady brought out a number of beauty items, including lipstick, eyeliner, and mascara. "Have you ever done a makeover before?" She asked Dixie.

Yes I have, although its been a couple years.' Dixie replied. 'Well, at least you know what you are doing. Let me take a look at you dear" She gave Cynder a looking-over. "Your eyes are the most prominent feature on yiour face. They're set into your head, and surrounded by thick cheeks. We humans say it is the eyes that catch a man's eye first. Well, You have beautiful eyes, my dear, brilliant green, like a four leaf clover or an emerald."

Dr. Zanasiu and Strut were in the seventh floor and they were next to Rime.

"Nice to see you Rime." Strut said.

"And I you." Rime replied.

"Now, we need a quick sit-rep."

"Well let's see, terrorists have breached the front gate. They have compromised the mainframe but that is currently secure and..." Suddenly Rime's radio beeped.

"Rime, the control room is under attack!" the radio blared.

Strut and Dr. Zanasiu readied their weapons.

Rime quickly radioed Deimos. "Deimos, we have a situation."

Dr. Zanasiu looked at Nick. "Nick, you coming?"

Deimos ran from the armory and passed by Scooby, stopping only a moment to talk. "We need to get to the control room, now."

He then ran down the stairwell.

It was then that Jim brought out the necklace. It was an amazing sight. Both Black and Green gems glowed brilliantly, they appeared to be giving off heat. "rhis Ris rincredible' Scooby said, as he looked at the necklace. Jim brought out the necklace case, it too had a four numeral lock. "Whjat do you think, my young friend?" He smiled at Spyro.

"It's perfect...," Spyro said, his eyes wide as he stared at the necklace. He didn't know much about what might impress a girl, but he was sure something like this would most certainly work.

"well then, I'll put this in its case, and set the lock" Jim said, putting the necklace, in , shutting the case, and setting the lock. "remember for this its 4000. 4700 will open the ring case. ' He handed the Case to Spyro. "There you go gentlemen, it has been a pleasure serving you, and I hope she says 'yes' when you show this to her. " "Re're rot rorosing, Rim. Rhese rare rimply rurprise rifts." Scooby explained."oh, so you're NOT asking them to marry you? My mistake, it just that most of my customers are buying engagement rings... Anyway, it has been a pleasure serving you, I hope they like their gifts, I'm sure they will." Jim said. Scooby Shrugged at Spyro. Rhanks Rim" he said, as they left the store.. "Farewell!' Jim waved at them then turned and left for the back of the store.

Dixie waited while Cynder sat back in the chair. Then She went to work. "Ok, Cynder, What I've going to do first, is lengthen your eyelashes a little. " She pulled the small brush from the eyeliner bottle and began dabbling it on cynder's eyelids. Dixie used delicate, light strokes, one two three, and onto the next eyelid..
meanwwhile the salesladies were working on cynders's back. the first was brushing her back, and lifting off dead scales. the other, was swabbing her wings, with wide broad strokes with a large q-tip. "This allows your skin to breathe my dear.. my my, we're getting a lot of dead scales here, especially on your back..." She said.
_ Dixie finished with the eyes, and moved to the blush. ' A little blush on your cheeks... not too much we don't want to clog your pores..' she said, as she lightly patted cynder's cheeks with the blush. "A little more over here, and little more here' She moved over to cynder's other cheek. "one two three.. one two three, and one two three.." She finished and put down the blush. She then picked up the lipstick which was labelled 'Tulip Red'. "Tulip? Why Tulip?' She asked the saleladies, who, like her, were making good progress, they had filled a bowl with water and dumped thier scrappings into it, there was now a thick layer of black gunk on the bottom. "Because Rose Red is too much of a cliche, in my opinion" The second saleslady, whose name was Doris said.

Dixie shrugged. "Now Cynder, I want you to smile a litle, just enough so I can get both lips fully.. " She screwed open the lipstick. "Not too much.. close them a little.. hold .. it right .. there" she started from the left corner of Cynder's upper lip, spreading the lipstick slowly, and going over a second time so that she would get the entire area.. She slid the lipstick over the front of Cynder's mouth, then moved it over to the other side. once she had finished, she looked her over, dabbled a bit more on the right corner, and started on her lower lip from the right corner. she slid the lipstick slowly over her lower lip, trying not to get too much on her chin. "You're doing great.. just a little more and the makeover done on my end" she smiled. She finished coloring Cynder's lower lip, looked her over to make sure she didn't miss any spots, and finally put the lipstick down, screwed it back down, and capped it. "NOw just press your lips to this naplkin and any extra lipstick will come off"

"Thank you," Spyro said to he salesperson as he took the necklace container away, grabbing it in a front claw. He hopped after Scooby, using his wings to keep upright. "Maybe we could find Stripetail and see if he can send us back to the cafe early and then we can hide these there?"

Cynder resisted the urge to twist around and watch what they were doing. She wondered about all those dead scales. She waited until Dixie had finished with the lipstick before she asked the salesladies. "Do you serve a lot of dragons?"

'We have served them in the past, but you're the first in awhile. It helps though that you're young and not too big, otherwise it takes much longer.. we're almost done, we just need to file your nails, lets have your left front foot..' Doris said, as Chrisa who was the other salelady worked on the back lega.
Dixie pressed the napkin to Cynder mouth, had her purse her lips together as if she was giving a kiss, and pulled the napkin away. "Excellent' dixie beamed proudly, as the doris and Chrisa finished filing down her claws.
"All done!' Doris said. "You can get out now Miss Cynder, you were an excellent customer. Here's all the scales we got off of you" She showed her the bowl of water. inside was a large layer of black stuff that reached halfway up the side of bowl. there was also a thinner, lighter layer, that apparently had come from her wings.
"Here's a mirror" Dixie said, holding it up to Cynder's face. "Have a look at yourself. Spyro is going to be stunned when he looks at you.." She smiled.

"Ew," Cynder commented as she saw the bowlful of dead scales, she shuddered to think they had all been on her just moments before.

She stared at her reflection in the mirror and decided the make-over hadn't been too bad, she didn't think she would start getting them regularly, especially after they got back home, but one in a while seemed like a good idea. "Not bad."

"We're looking to hide the gifts we got for our respective girlfriends," Spyro explained. "Could you teleport us back to the cafe?"

Wataru spotted the three of them and headed toward them. He had a book on violin making in one arm and several jars of violin varnish under the other arm. "So how'd your shopping trip go?"

There's no need to teleport you" Stripetail smiled. "Your suits of armor also contain a small storage area. It's located on your right wrist. Observe" Stripetail gestured and activated their armor. He pressed hs paw to Scooby's right wrist, and a flap of the armor rose up, revealing a small compartment underneath.Both Scooby and Spyro looked on in amazement "Useful for keeping safe documents, valuables and small quantities of food.So you could carry a packed lunch in there if you so choose. You can stash your valuables in there, and Dixie and Cynder will be none the wiser, that is until you pull out your gifts." Stripetail explained

Scooby unhooked the pouch from his collar containing the ring and put it in the compartment. All you have to to close it , is bring the flap down, and press it down hard. Really very simple.'

"See? I told you it wouldn't be so bad. You look great, and I'll bet you dinner Spyro will agree." Dixie smiled. "Now, let's pay for these two dresses I bought" Onwe was sun yellow, and the other was blueberry blue, "and then we can head over to Al's. We've gor about 15 minutes before we have to head back." all told, the desses cost about 400, which Dixie paid for with her credit card. "Shaggy openened credit cards for both Scooby and I, so if we are short on cash, we can just charge it. It helps that he inherited a billion dollars.. " She grinned.

"It went well," Spyro replied to Wataru's question. He slid the necklace's case into the comparment on his armor and pushed it closed.

"A billion?" Cynder repeated. She had heard of massive fortuntes in her own world, but none were ever described as reaching a billion. "I guess we would need all of it, considering the way he eats..."

Yeah, Both Scooby and Shaggy can eat with the best of them. They'll do well in eating Competitions, where you eat as much food as you can, usually in 10 or 12 minutes..Me.. I'm not interested in pigging out. I have to watch my weight..." Dixie said.

"Here we are," Cynder said, stopping in front of Al's. Various wing-like structures lined the wall of the store, most looked to Cynder like they wouldn't be able to even slow a person's fall.

"How may I help you?" A salesperson asked as he walked up to them. His name tag read Bart.

We're looking for wings that can help a person fly better" dixie said. "Something for wings like these" she pointed to Cynder's wing. "Bart stratched his chin. " How about a dragon suit? New in stock. Its got synetic fibers that spread out as you take flight, allowing the air to pass through your wings quicker, and at least I think , would fhelp you fly faster and better. Care to look at one?"

Nick Took off after the fleeing doctor. 'Hang on, I'm coming with you. " Stitch jumped ionto his back, and Angel ran a pace or two behind him. They were leaded down, to the 7th floor.

Rime had also received the transmission. He went to a guard station to retrieve his backup weapon, a Remington 870 shotgun. He waited for Dr. Zanasiu, Strut and Deimos to arrive.

He then took cover and notice a large squad of terrorists trying to breach the blast door. He also noticed the remains of the defensive auto turrets. He took aim and killed the terrorist preparing a satchel charge.

The terrorists immediately returned fire.

Zachary, popping out from a door also joined in the firefight.

In the stairwell Deimos, at a full run looked at Nick. "You got ammo?"

"Okay," Spyro said, heading back towards the cafeteria. He wondered for a moment what could be taking Cynder so long. "Does the armor have a way to tell time too?"

Wataru had headed back into the mall to see if he could find another music shop. He paused as he heard something clatter to the floor. He stopped and set down the items he had bought, before breaking into a run.

He turned the corner and found a man slumping to the floor, the man's body had turned transparent. Standing above the body was the killer. A human-like creature with a cobra-like head. It's skin was black with purple and red patterns resembling stained glass.

"Kivat..." Wataru said. The golden bat came flying down the mall. Wataru reached ou and grabbed him.

"Bite!"

"Henshin!"

"Yes, please," Cynder replied. Bart turned to lead them towards the dragon suit. Before he took three steps, Wataru came flying through the storefront window with a loud crash.

Cynder screamed in surprise and then glanced out the broken window to find the reptile-like creature approaching them.
