Its a figure of speech in our world. Curiousity can be bad for you. You can be lead by curiousity into the wrong place at the wrong time, and you can die as a result. in this case, Scooby may end up NOT dying, EVER. Immortals have different priorities than mortals do, I'd bet" Dixie replied.

Nick reached the diverging tunnels, a Shurlup was thrown out of the middle one and landed, dead at his feet. "I'm guessing its this one" He said somewhat sarcastically, as he entered the middle tunnel.

"Welcome back," Taiga said, he was wielding a white rapier-like weapon with a red blade. He swung the weapon around and the blade became a whip which cut into any shurlup it hit. Taiga wielded the weapon with deadly accuracy.

And what about Cynder?" Dixie cut in. "She's part of your family too.. Or would you just be a pain in the tail , and celebrate openly that she was gone?" She looked at Spyro who frowned. In fact, Sparx had said several mean things about Cynder, Calling her among other things 'the female of fright", and the "Evil pyscho She-dragon"..

The tardis returned. "You sure about this. I'd not want to turn to stone in your doorway."

"It's ok, the spell will keep you from stone sleep." The tourist said.

"Come on. Can't hurt just looking outside." Another person said.

"You did save from the phoenix gate."

The tardis doors opened and The tourist stepped out with a human well over 6 feet tall and well built and wearing contemporary clothing and with an invisible sword in an invisible knife scabbard, most of the sword blade in another dimension.

Then out stepped a red gargoyle (Brooklyn for any who've seen the series.) He stood silent and looked around, sniffing to get the scent of each person and waiting to see who was friend or foe.

The tourist indicated the tall human. "This is the person I mentioned. What name are you going by currently?" He asked him.

The tall human shrugged, "Doesn't matter, I've used many names. Odysseus was my birthname. Later I was called by and used many other names, Sinbad, Sir Bedwyr, Little John, a guest on Robin's part due to my being so tall, and others." He said.

The Tourist next indicated Brooklyn, "This is Brooklyn, he's a gargoyle, for those who've not see his species."

Hows Goliath?' Stripetail smiled at Brooklyn. "Still as strong as a bull? I'm Stripetail.. I'm not sure if we've met before, But I've met Goliath before, on my travels.."
(Yes I saw the series Goliath was my favorite character)

"No, I wouldn't do anything in such bad taste," Sparx said. And since when was she family? he thought to himself. Sure, they had been acting closer then usual since they had come back from that mission, but were they really an item already? And if they were did that mean he had to let up on bothering Cynder?

"I'm Spyro and this is Cynder," the purple dragon introduced. He nodded his head at the yellow dragonfly. "That's Sparx."

Taiga swung the whip forward and it pierced through the chest of a shurlup. He pulled on the rope and moved his hand across the hilt, a pulse of light traveling down the rope and causing the shurlup to explode.

"Yeah, right" Dixie sneered. "You're a horrible liar Sparx..Cynder's told me all about the nasty stuff you've called her...I've got no doubt you wouldn't hesistate to say mean stuff about her at her funeral.."

Nick ducked as parts of the Shurlup flew everywhere. "heres the ammo guys, help yourselves..."

"We'll cover you while you reload," Nago said, kicking back at shurlup.

The three monsters Wataru had summoned were doing rather well against the shurlup. The werewolf was a fiercous fight, making use of his calws and occasionally his teeth against the shurlups. The fishman stayed out of direct combat, instead prefering to stay back and shoot jets of water at the creatures. The purple creature was slow, but exceedingly strong.

"That's assuming I'll even be at her funeral," Sparx said annoyed, crossing his arms. "I'm a dragonfly remember? They'll most certainly outlive me, that is if they can quit doing all this dangerous stuff."

Odysseus smiles and waves, "Hello, how goes things?" He asked.

Brooklyn waved, "He was doing great the least time I saw him. That must have been years ago." He said with a bit of a sad expression on his face. "It was all on account of that phoenix gate." He said with some anger in his face and voice.

"You're free of it now, and I"ll return you home a few seconds after you left." The tourist said.

Brooklyn calmed down at the memory. "I did get to see some interesting places and people, but never being able to even visit home."

"You'll go home, and if you want to you can travel with me and see new times and places, and always able to visit home when you want and stay as long as you want." the tourist said.

(ooc: Based on a proposed spinoff the gargoyles creator wanted to do, Timedancer. The phoenix gate appears and gets Brooklyn. To the manhattan clan he appears about 5 minutes later, to Brooklyn it is 40 years before he returns home.)

'For a gargoyle who was asleep for 1000 years, 40 years shouldn't be much of a big deal.." stripetail said. he pout up his paws before Brooklyn could get angry. "don't worry my friend, we are all your friends here. This is actually a resteraunt called the Insane Cafe.. it called that because weird things happen all the time here. Help yourself to some food, theres a huge pizza in the kitchen.."

Cynder turned her head toward Odysseus. She was a bit curious about what he might have to say.

"At least it's over. And it wasn't all bad. I did see some interesting people and places. " Brooklyn said glad that it was all over, "and I did find a friend to travel with me, and now have a mate and a family." he said, happy at the thought.

"I'd introduce you to them, but I can only keep 1 gargoyle from stone sleep at a time. Not very good at dragon magic." The tourist said.

Brooklyn smiled at a thought, "I bet the gang back home will be surprised." He looked around, "A cafe? I've not had American food in, must be a few years at least."

"Being immortal, not very fun. Watching one's friends, family, loved ones die and you live on. Trying to not make friends or fall in love,but knowing you likely will again only to watch them die and it goes on and on forever. Some of them I held in my arms as they died, me unable to do anything about it." Odysseus said, still abit sad at the memory, but over most of the initial sadness, as most who live through an event are.

Brooklyn made a face of disgust,, "Bugs, yuk. We gargoyles eat the same sorts of stuff humans do." He said. "Thanks for the offer, I"ll try some. 　I've not had pizza in a while, thanks." He said and went over to try a slice.

Ducky thought for a moment, "I think Chomper would like bugs on his pizza." Ducky said.

"Me agree," Petrie said nodding, "He say stinging buzzers spicy."

Odysseus nodded, "I've had many. They are all dead as far as I know since they were human." Very few humans live much past 80. The only long lived friends I have are the Tourist here," He said indicating him, Morgan le fay, who I"ve not seen in a while, King Arthur, who is in Avalon recovering who I"ve not seen since after the battle of Camlan in the 6th century."

What about Merlin?' Stripetail replied. "He wasn't fully mortal from what I've heard of him. You must have met him while you were a knight. I've longed to meet him for a long time, no wizard is held in higher regard in our world than he, for his exploits are legend even in my world.

Odysseus nodded, "I've forgotten about Merlin. I've not see him since somewhat the early or mid period of Arthur's reign. Then Nimue, who later became one of the ladies of the lake, took over from him." He shook his head at the mention of half immortal or halfling, "You mean like Heracles, who the romans called Hercules, no they were mortal. Technically I'm a cursed mortal, not a true immortal I would guess. The curse went, translating into modern English, "forever will you life down through the ages, your body always remade whole whatever may happen to it."

The Tourist smiled a bit at the mention of Hercules' name. "hehe, Hercules, he was a wild man at parties. Ｉ remember the parties we Argonauts would have, pretty wild ones." He said.

"Nimue' Stripetail spat. "Rule #1, among great magicians, don't ever take on a protege, fall in love with her, and teach her everything you know, it will end up backfiring. I read that Nimue sealed him up in a cave, or that perhaps was artistic license put in in "le Mort De arthur". Mallory knows how to tell a story, but I'd rather hear from someone who was there.."
