I still didn't recover any of the Arabian covers, but I'm absolutely certain that I did see at least one Arabian cover during a search quite a while before this thread was started.

I've watched LBT 11 in Spanish before. That was interesting to say the least... :^.^: I guess it wasn't too much of a barrier coz I pretty much know the script word-for-word but still, the voices, particularly of the gang, seemed a lot "higher". By the sounds of it, from what I can recall, Littlefoot sounded almost like a girl was voicing him rather than a guy.

Wonder if they stick to the same voice actors for the dubs? Can anyone enlighten on that question?

English
Norweigan
Danish
Spanish

as languages, some sounds really weird

Still, on the DVD's, the extra material is only available when English is chosed.

Except for lbt9 which has got: English, Dutch, Norwegian and Swedish.. =P

Indeed some voices sound higher or lower in certain languages. When I recorded norwegian and swedish songs I heard that the norwegian voices were much lower then the swedish ones..

It is sometimes funny to see the phonetical similarities between languages of the same background. "der har du ret" means "you are right about this"? The similar German phrase would be "da hast du recht".

Acctually, we Sweds thinks that Danish is difficult to understand in comparision to other neighbours, such as Norway.
I don't know about what the Danish people think though?

Because it sounds so similar to the German "da hast du recht". There are also many words very similar in Dutch and German so they can often be guessed.
Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Dutch, English, German are all so called "Indo-European" languages of the Germanic group. Other Indo-European languages include French, Spanish, Italian, and Portugese, but they are of the Romance family (with somewhat stronger Latin roots). There are many similar words in our languages and most languages also borrowed words from other languages.
For example the English word "gauntlet" is derived from an old Swedish term and the term "ski" (used in English and in German) is of Norwegian origin.
"Yacht" (also used in both languages) is of Dutch origin I think.
"Kindergarten" (literally "children garden") is a German word adopted into the English language.
The other way round the list of English words in the German language can hardly be counted. The English term "telephone" for example ousted the awkward German term "Fernsprecher" (literally "far talker").
