Reading through most of the messages posted here I'm kind of wondering if all of you who say that the entire GOF is a family for you think there is indeed no difference between friends and family (or a friend so close that you would name him or her family even though it is no blood relationship). Would you disagree with the "Family" song's claim that family is "more than being friends"? Much as everyone likes everyone around here I somewhat doubt that indeed anyone here feels just as related to every single other GOF member without having a closer relationship with some than with some others. I wonder to what degree the claims about feeling all GOF members as family are based on polite refusal to "rank" any other GOF members above others rather than on total honesty
I think the concept of "Friends and family" is based on opinion and perception. Personally, I think my remaining friends(yes I am including net friends too), were more like family then my actual blood line family. Like my intermediate family (my parents) is great towards me, I can't say the same for the rest of my family simply because I only see them on the holidays.
It probably is unfair to say that, "We're all family here" when some, if not most of us don't even know some of the other individuals here. Especially if there is a member that hasn't been here for a very long time and hasn't actually spoken to the some of the people here.
However, some of the members here just may be telling the truth and that's what they really think and believe, or they don't but they are just saying it because of the moment and the amount of people that said, "I feel like everyone is my family here".
