Racnar came closer to Pearl and gave a weak smile - "It must be my sickness, what makes me feel... this way. But don't worry, I'll live."

Pearl felt sad for a moment remembering now about Racnar's sickness and wishing she could do something to help. The only thing she could think of however was to reach out and hug him, which is what she did.
"I do wish and hope you feel better soon Racnar, I know your brother worries about you, we all do. But I'm glad to see that you are also staying strong."

Longtail stood up in the water and then spread his wings and began to spin in a circle whipping his tail around as he went splashing water as he went. He began taking slow steady steps towards his father and then jumped into the air swinging with both his claws and tail at the same time.

Longtail's father however grabbed his son by the neck and tossed him onto the grassy shore. he then turned and charged bringing his claws down towards his son's head.

Or at least where it would've been if Longtail hadn't rolled clear in time. He then brought his tail around and managed to trip his father. Hearing him land with a dull thud was a moment Longtail could smile about.

His father groaned and raised himself up.
"This is getting annoying. Time to end this!" he said aloud as he took several steps towards his son.
"You don't know what a true fastbiter can do....stop fighting me like a flyer...and use those fastbiter instincts boy!" he commented to Longtail.

Longtail for a moment narrowed his eyes as his left one turned yellow and he simply gave a wicked smile as he said in response.
"Why father...i thought you'd never ask!"

Veil had seen this before, when he and Longtail had gone hunting.

Longtails' brother and sisters were watching the fight as well and the three of them were a bit surprised when they could see the color change in Longtail's eye.

Longtail's brother then asked, "Wait...what just happened?"

Soul smiled and said, "Your brother is a half-breed, and as such when he needs to his sharptooth blood can affect his mood and how he fights, even right down to what he eats."

Longtail's sisters both gasped in shock as they asked together, "Really? Cool."

Longtail took a step forward and his father did the same. After several small steps they were literally nose to nose and they both swung out with their claws coming together in a claw lock. They stood there for a moment before Longtail used his tail to whack his father in the head.

Longtail's father let go instinctively and roared as he tired to bite down on his son's tail.

Longtail backflipped out of the way and as he stared down his father again his sky blue scales began to darken to a deep midnight blue the kind that happens right before the bright circle rises in the morning.

Longtail's father was shocked at the change and that was all Longtail needed as he charged and headbutted his father to the ground and the two began to claw, and tear at each other inflicting minor to moderate wounds.

"Cool, frightening, use whatever word ya want" Twiz answered Greg from where he was flinching and turning aside and not looking. He heard what Soul said and glanced up confused though, "R-really, well...then how come he gets to have almost powers and I'm just a scardy little flyer with only two sharpteeth?" he asked rhetorically.

Misty smiled as she found the answer though, "Cause the change is minimal as your parents are both flyers, of a sort".

"Oh" Twiz said.

"Do you eat more leaves or meat?" Misty next asked her friend, just off curiosity. "greenfood" Twiz answered, "but my herd says I'm forcing myself to do it just to be rebellious about them kicking my dad out, I am not though" he answered, crossing his wings. "I've eaten bugs though" he answered, "and the occasional kill of my herd, but I've never killed anything myself, that's just...weird" he shuddered.

Pearl's hug caught Racnar by surprise, he hugged her back and said - "thanks."

Cayso said no words, but a smile can be seen on his face, first by watching Racnar's mood getting better after Pearl's hug and now because of the amazing fight between Longtail and his father - "I only hope the fight can be stopped before they do some real damage to each other" - the kid thought for himself as he follows the battle not loosing any details on the fighters' movements.

"At this point, I think Longtail's father wants to see... how far Longtail's abilities can go, since... since he is a half-breed." - Racnar said, keeping a hand on his chest while still standing next to Pearl.

"I agree, but I hope I am right by saying that they'll stop the fight themselves before they do cause each other some serious damage." - Cayso replied, but nevertheless getting ready to stop the fight if the need arises.

Longtail's father threw him off and back into the water. He then stood up and proclaimed, "Give it up boy, you can't hope to beat me...I'm your father....I'm the reason you even have a sharptooth half!"

Longtail rose out of the water slowly as if hanging on his fathers every word. He then laughed out loud as he stared his father in the eyes and said,
"No father....you don't understand...even if you wern't my real father...I'd still have this 'wild streak'. Why? Becuase that's just what I am...I'M WILD!" Longtail then jumped forward using his left wing as a ruse.

His father fell for it and raised both his claws to block the on coming attack, but didn't see the second one coming before it was far too late.

Soul however had seen the attack coming and knew from personal experience that the move Longtail was about to preform was a killing strike and before her mind could tell her to move, she was already there holding Longtail's claw with little effort, but she was still shocked to see him using that type of move.
She looked him in the eyes and asked, "Where...did you learn that? Answer me!"

Longtail looked up at his mother, then to his father and then back to Soul again. He scowled at her and replied, "I'm. Not. Telling."

Soul for a moment looked shocked, but the moment passed quickly and her face returned to the calm and passive look she usually had, as she embraced her son in a hug.

Longtail could only blush and mumble: "mom....you're embarrassing me."

Both Cayso and Racnar smiled at the hug Soul gave to her son, but there is something still vivid on Cayso's mind, he began thinking - "What was that movement Longtail was about to do? it looked like a killing maneuver." - then Cayso took a look at his brother and he looked back at him - "He saw it too." - Cayso still thought, figuring that his brother saw the maneuver too.

Indeed Racnar saw what Longtail was attempting to do, he told Pearl with a smile - "It looks like your boyfriend has... more fighting skills than... than we first thought." - What Racnar didn't say was that he may have found a way to counter-attack that technique, but it may be one of the many things the little fast-biter never speaks about.

Longtail's father was stunned when he heard the attack was a killing move.
"Wait, WHAT?! Were you really going to try and kill me?" he asked his son.

Longtail smiled at the praise he was getting from his friends, but then frowned at his father.
"Well...you did say you wanted a fight, and thats what I gave you."

Pearl however blushed at Racnar's statement and hearing him call Longtail her boyfriend. "Well...he does keep surprising me it seems. And...I'm sure having you as his friends has helped him as well."

Soul let Longtail go and smiled as she turned to Longtail's father and said,
"Well now that the fighting is all over we can get down to what really matters."

Soul smiled at Chompers question and said aloud.
"We are going to talk about the herd Longtail has to lead."

Longtail's eyes widened as he shouted, "WHAT?!?"

Longtail's dad laughed for a moment.
"Didn't you know boy, after proving yourself to me and your mother you've proven you can lead a herd...more importantly our family herd."

Longtail's brother and two sisters simply laughed at his reaction to the news.
"Happy times...huh little bro?" asked his brother.

Racnar looked at his brother and said - "Well, you do know about that kind of things too I believe." - the kid smiled as he sits down, taking a deep breathe before continuing - "I wouldn't be surprised if between the dinosaurs here we would see... a kind of future council of herd leaders."

Longtail thought for a moment as he asked,
"How big is our herd?"

Soul giggled in reply and said, "Oh you'll see. But for now I think you should relax...I'm not sure your friends are used to seeing your scales change color."

Longtail blinked as he realized what his mother meant and he took a deep breath and his scales did indeed change back to their sky blue coloring.

"Can you change any other colors little bro?" asked Longtail's brother.
