Lori watched Misty practice with a vacant gaze, clearly her mind was elsewhere. She glanced over at Deimos and watched him leave, debating briefly if she should go with him. "Would you like some company?" she asked the other predator.

"Sure." Deimos replied. He was holding the slingshot in his right hand. "So Lori, how are you enjoying the Great Valley?"

"It's little soon to be asking me that, isn't it?" Lori frowned. "Well, I suppose it's a great place if dinosaurs like us, can live in harmony with flatteeth. It certainly seems there's enough pre- er, food here."

Longtail smiled brightly as he noticed Mr.Threehorn was nowhere to be seen.
"Hey, I ain't complaining! Let's grab a few and leave before he gets back." He then dived down to the tree and picked up several tree sweets and giggled as this was just a little too easy.

Kit smiled, swooping down to grab a few herself. She was about to comment to what Longtail said when a voice cried out and interrupted her.

"Hey!" Cera said, storming over, "What do you guys think you're doing?!".

Kit, still holding a wing load full of blossoms, sighed as she looked down, "Don't tell me..." she sighed.

Tylr smiled, "How you doing Cera? Taking over for you dad I see?" he asked simply. Cera huffed a bit, "I feel it's necessary, especially with intruders, and apparently I'm right and the citizens are looking to steal tree sweets too!".

Kit sighed, "Cera, they've been on the tree for a while, we're past the rationing point".

Finally satisfied with how well her aim was, Misty turned and rushed off to try and see if she could maybe catch up with Deimos and Lori to show them. "And this time I won't go hitting anyone who I shouldn't" she said.

Deimos arrived at Mr. Bigmouth's grove. "Mr. Bigmouth! I've got a new weapon for you to look at."

Mr. Bigmouth was inside his grove and trying to fight off his attackers.

He had dodged an attack from the war hammer armed Runner. He quickly grabbed a leaf packet from a nearby rock, crushed it and threw the powder at his assailants.

"Powder?" the club wielding sickleclaw said derisively as the white dust enveloped him. "Heh, you think....argh!" The sickleclaw shouted, dropping his club.

The three other dinosaurs started coughing and crying as the powder was actually a strong irritant designed to be used as a weapon.

Mr. Bigmouth ran out of the grove through another exit.

Lori saw a dinosaur who she guessed was Mr. Bigmouth, running out of another exit from the grove. "Hey, Deimos. I think we've got trouble..."

"Let's deal with it." Deimos said. He handed Lori the slingshot back to Lori and looked around for a weapon. There was nothing he could use.

"Ready?" Deimos asked Lori.

"Nice job on guarding the food, Cera." Littlefoot said. "Though, I think you're a little paranoid about the citizens."

"I guess," Lori replied, turning the weapon in her hands over and bending down to pick up several rocks. "Are you sure we shouldn't get reinforcements?"

"Good idea!" Deimos said, "Thinking like a true tactician."

With that said, Deimos ran to the Feeding Grounds.

Lori turned and darted after him, having trouble keeping up due to her shorter legs. She kept a tight grip on the slingshot and the stones. "What's a tactician?"

At the frown that came over Cera's face at Littlefoot's words, Kit laughed. "I'm just making sure by the time the Cold Time does come we aren't all wanting to eat a treesweet we squandered beforehand" Cera replied.

"Very good thinking, Cera" Tylr said amused, "but we promise to watch it". Kit discretely popped in and swallowed one blossom just incase.

As Misty got closer she noticed Lori pick up speed to catch Deimos probably, he was farther ahead and she couldn't really tell. "Lori" she called, "What's going on, you need help?" she raced to keep up as well.

"We're going to get reinforcements," Lori hollered back. "It looks like someone attacked Mr. Bigmouth's grove."

"Mr. Bigmouth's grove was attacked." Deimos said. "We need reinforcements to engage the intruders."

As the irritating dust settled, the war hammer toting Runner swore.

"Tear this place apart! He must be here somewhere!" he shouted.

The other 2 dinosaurs obeyed his command.

The club wielding sickleclaw searched one of the winding passages and the unarmed sickleclaw seized a nearby spear and helped the Runner search the main grove.

Longtail sighed and put down several of the tree sweets just to make Cera happy, but he did take the last one and ate it anyway. He then turned his head as he stated: "I think I hear someone coming...it...it sounds like Deimos." He then secretly ate another tree sweet.

"Oh...my" Misty's words dropped off though as she quickly got to glancing about for reinforcements. Still a ways ahead, and closer to Deimos than her, she spotted the others at the treesweets grove.

Deimos seemed concentrated on getting to Mr. Bigmouth's grove though and Misty's kind had always been quite fast with proper motivation, so she spilled the news first. "Mr. Bigmouth's cave has been attacked apparently" she said with a quick direction change over in their direction.

Tyrl frowned, "Oh...my".

"Yeah, that's what I said" Misty answered. The flyer snapped too though, "Well then come on, he probably needs help" Tylr said, flapping up. He spotted Kit and frowned a bit like he might say something but she just sighed, "Not now dad, get overprotective later when we've saved at least Mr. Bigmouth" she said flying over in the direction Deimos and the others were heading.

Longtail after hearing the news immediately followed after Kit and said to Tylr, "Don't worry...I'll keep an eye on her, you have my promise!"

Deimos with the others trailing had reached the Feeding Grounds. "Cera, Littlefoot, Hyp, Ducky, will you join us?"

"I'm still recovering." Hyp said.

"I do not want to fight more." Ducky replied.

"I'll come." Littlefoot said.

"Thanks!" Deimos said. "Everyone! Look around for a weapon!"

Deimos looked around and grabbed a nearby fist sized rock.

Tylr sighed, Kit was in good wings he knew if Longtail was looking out for her, so he didn't make Kit turn back even as his own intention to help was hindered by the fact that Mr. Threehorn, who arrived to help his daughter guard the treesweet tree pointed out that someone had to clean up the now blossom littered area, or at least pile the one's that had fallen.

Tylr knew he was right so he obliged.

Kit glanced around to see if there was anything she could use. "Hmm, maybe still just pecking at intruders is the best way to go" she wondered out loud.

Misty stocked up her own rock thrower, "and this time, I can aim" she told herself.

Longtail looked at Deimos and gave a dark laugh.
"I don't need a weapon...I've got three already, and they're attached to my body! Let those intruders try anything stupid...I'll show them what I can do." He didn't mean to sound cocky to his friends, but he wanted to make up for looking so weak before. He hoped the others knew that.
He then turned to Kit and said, "that sounds like the best idea Kit, and like I said, I'll watch your wings during the fight."
