Bill gave a wide grin.
"Now that's the kind of news I like to hear! Let's mop up the rest of em!"

Jason fired a Smart bomb at the retreating enemy ships and laughed. "That's right...run! This is our home turf!" He then opened his communications line to Tessarey.
"Thanks for your help...we may not have survived out here without ya!"

Rey's ship lurched in a sudden leftward dive and slight deceleration as she maneuvered herself behind two of the enemy ships. A fresh burst of fire hit one dead-on and sent the other hastening after its retreating allies in a panic.
"Yeah, that's what I thought!" She shouted, firing after him, but only skimming his craft.

"Oh, and no trouble at all!" She replied to Jason.
"You guys did most of the work before I got here, I'm sure! And with the kind of flying I've just seen, it's no wonder. Hopefully those cowards learned a thing or two today, eh?"

Jason stopped the Landmaster and hopped out. He then sighed and stretched for a moment. He looked to the sky and could see the enemy ships pulling away from the main city. He smiled broadly and said, "Oh yeah...we deserve a party after this!"

Bill smiled and asked aloud, "So are we still going have our little get together Fox?"

"Commander, the ground forces seem to have been wiped out!" Will called back, returning from behind a building. "I checked the perimeter, and there is no sight of them. The only problem might be air forces."

Albus groaned and climbed down a ladder to is escape capsule, holding a small remote in his wing.

"You're all useless." He muttered, entering the capsule.

The object flew outside the freight, and just as it was somewhat distant, a catastrophic explosion destroyed the ship, leaving behind a large cloud of detritus.

Jason hopped out of the Landmaster and immediately pulled his blaster from his holster and fired directly at Will. The laser however passes by inches from his neck and killed another enemy ground unit as Jason simply smiled.
"Now the perimeter is clear. Looks like ya missed one Will!" said Jason with a smile.

Bill smiled and nodded to Krystal's request. "Yes please."

"Sounds like a good idea Fox, I'll call a shuttle to pick the rest of us up and we'll all rendezvous on the Great Fox." said Bill as he hopped from Krystals wing onto the ground below him.

Jason turned and said aloud, "I can't wait to see mom again. She's gonna be surprised that I was able to help defend Corneria."

Sounds like a Plan" Fox nodded. "we'll see you guys there" he said, pulling the Arwing away in a tight formation. Fox was a excellent flyer, he had been flying Arwings for years and had gotten out of many tough pickles thanks to his flying skills..

"Yeah, seeya!" Slippy piped in, following behind Fox.

Rey had been flying slowly within a tight radius, listening to the communications. After a fashion, she gleaned enough information to come to the conclusion that it was very likely that she had just been flying alongside the legendary StarFox. Lightheaded and slightly giddy, she cleared her throat without much confidence.
"Now, I don't want to be a bother... Do you guys think that I might be able to... Well, to tag along for a bit? I mean, I don't want to intrude or anything. If not, I'd completely understand, I'll just head right back to the Academy. Just thought I'd ask, is all."

Rey's elation was evident in her voice as she performed an abrupt u-turn. Her ship was soon in reasonable pursuit at the rear of the formation.

Come on guys! Less talking, more flying!" Krystal said, as she flew inbetween a pair of buildings. her view in frront of her was clear save for smoke on her right that wafted up from the burning buildings and rubble below..

Bill pushed the call button on his wrist mounted communications pad and the voice on the other end was startling for Bill.

"Hello, this is Cornerian Areo Space control, who is speaking?"

Bill was silent for several moments before he said aloud, "Fay...is that you?"

The operator on the other line gave an irritated huff and sighed shortly after.
"So you finally managed to find me huh Bill?" she said with a hint of anger in her voice.

Bill looked over to the others standing around him and sighed as well.

Jason then pushed the button on his wrist communicator as well and spoke up, "Mom...I would really appreciate it if you would join us, including the Starfox team for a small party on the Great Fox...and maybe just relax."

Fay sighed again as she replied, "Fine...I'll be there...and I'll send a shuttle to come and get you. Fay Spaniel over and out!"

Bill smiled.
"Nice save son."

Jason scoffed as he replied, "If I hadn't stepped in she would've roasted you alive from your communicator."

So why are you and Fay on such bad terms?' Fox asked. "Do you just not see eye to eye on things? Like how to raise Jason, for instance?'

Bill chuckled nervously as he sat down in the passenger compartment of the shuttle that landed nearby. he then replied, "well...the last time I spoke to Fay we were trying to decide which role Jason would be best suited for...flight combat, or hand to hand combat...and at one point...our conversation turned into a shouting match and then...a fist fight that took us through the entire Cornerian academy...it was brutal, and in the end Jason and seven other security officers had to break it up..."

Jason sighed as he sat next to his father.
"I remember that day...I was supposed to be getting an award for courageous conduct in the flight simulator...and I ended up stopping a fight...although I gotta admit dad, mom did kinda kick your around for a while." he said with a laugh.

Jason sighed as he knew the answer that was going to come.

Bill responded by saying, "We...haven't officially broken up...not even close! Fay and I both refuse to sign the paper work...and we just kinda....stay out of the others way...but we'll meet at the party, and we'll talk it out. By the way, where is the party...onboard the Great Fox right?"
