"Hey team! Sorry I'm so late! Y'know how the brass can get. On the upside, we've got a few new prototypes to test"
Adiran's voice came over the team radio as a group of six new mobile frames came into view...

"Hello Star Fox. I'm Yukio, the test pilot of the Apharmad Battle type mass-production prototype."
A young bat said, his image flickering into view. His mobile frame was equipped with a pair of submachine guns, as well as a pair of weapon emitters, one under each arm.

"A pleasure. My name's Ryan, piloting the prototype of the Strike version Apharamd."
The wolf who said this flew a basic frame with a large missile rack held in it's right hand. On the right shoulder was a grenade cannon, and the left hand held a vicious combat knife.

"Zaine, Pilot of Apharmad Command type prototype, reporting!"
The third pilot, a lemur, flew a unit with a large rifle on the right hand, and a large blade on the left forearm.

"It's nice to meet you. My name is Kale. I was assigned to the unit as pilot of the Grys-Vok bombardment unit"
The massive unit, with missile launchers for both arms, as well as mounted on the shoulders, was being piloted by a young cat boy.

"Hello...I'm Yuna. I'll be test piloting the Stein-Vok Beam weapon platform..."
A young female sheep appeared last, piloting a second massive unit sporting many beam cannons.

"This is the new test team. They even saw fit to give me the new Cypher-type variable frame suit!"
Adrian chuckled, as his unit flew alongside the Great Fox in fighter form, before transforming into a red mobile frame. The new frame sported only four wings, but was adorned with distinct fins on many surfaces of its body. It also mounted a pair of claw-like weapons on the forearms.
"Alright. Let's go!"
Adrian yelled, reverting his unit to fighter form and readying for combat...

"My base has been monitoring Aquas for some time now...and we were starting to get some strange reports before I was told to report to Cornaria for the academy tests."

Jason then spoke up.
"No sir...I've never been to Aquas personally...I thought it was just one big ball of water?"

Meanwhile, an Arwing from Corneria flew within distance of the Great Fox and hovered. "Raven 1 to Great Fox. This is Raven 1. Requesting permission to dock."

The Arwing made its way to dock, and the pilot jumped out. It was Joven Hawke, the academy graduate with Adrian, Jason, and other students tested by Bill. He calmly but quickly made his way to the debriefing room...

how many fighters are in a wing Joven? Forgive me, Ive heard the term before but it was never explained to me how big a fighter wing usually is. I'm self-taught when it comes to fighting.. I was never trained like you and the other pilots here.. " She said trying to make Joven feel at ease.

"Sorry, ma'am," Joven answered. "A wing is a group of 4 to 6 fighters, depending on the purpose. Ours were 6 when we were attacked. That means our losses were two dozen pilots..."

if there were 5 fighter wings and 6 in each of them , that would be thirty fighters in all, that means you lost 4 of the 5 fighter wings..a very high fatality rate " Krystal said, sympathy creeping into her voice. those students had gone through a lot over the past few hours, any help she could provide them, she would.. for now, finding something to dull the pain of losing those pilots, who likely were friends of these survivors , would be necessary.

Bill stepped forward and asked, "Well, as much I'd like to discuss wing formations, I do believe we have a mission to complete. Fox, Krystal, you two need to get into the Blue Marine."

Jason stood up and walked over to Joven and shook his hand.
"I...it's great to see ya. I thought we'd lost you in the intitial bombardment of Cornaria."

Krystal nodded and headed off to the docking bay where the Blue Marine was kept. Fox caught up with her " you ready for this Krystal ?
