Careful not to spoil her good mood, Topsy approached Tria. He got close to her and she gave him a slap with her tail!

"Oww. What was that for?" he asked.

"That was for your argument with old Mr. Longneck today! You shouted at him for half of the afternoon, and all the time I tried to stop you was wasted. Did you listen to me for a second? No! I've never been so embarrassed before! You really think I wanna mate tonight? That whole 'stud' thing was just to get you over here."

Even though Tria was not willing to do it, Topsy insisted. "Come on, Tria... you know how it is... it was a long day... it would be nice to relax..."

"Look Topsy. I've agreed to mate with you more often, but not every night. I would have done it if you didn't cause such a scene today... as it is, we still probably cannot mate as often as we did before Tricia was born..."

Mating too often could be a burden for Tria... being a female and a new mother, it wasn't as "urgent" for her, but Topsy... he could have been slapped with all the pressure he put on her... and was slapped, in fact.

He continued on... "You know how I get around you... when you don't mate with me for long enough, I get... jumpy."

First of all, this was sort of true; adult male threehorns did get rather anxious to mate when around fertile female threehorns. The females emitted pheremones, which in turn made hormones turn on in the males. Topsy had not mated for a long time after the death of Cera's mother, so he was more than eager to "make up for lost time" with Tria...

Second of all, Topsy needed to think of her more...

Good for her: Tria still had an advantage over Topsy; she could use mating to get him to do certain things, and the threat of not mating with him was often enough to get Topsy to give in... of course, on certain days, she just let him stay aroused and jumpy... she didn't want to let his hormones be an excuse for mating whenever he wanted it... she had her own feelings to consider.

She really didn't like it when he only thought of his own urges, and mated in such a way to release himself quickly but to leave her feeling used and unsatisfied...

going some distance away from Topsy, Tria composed herself. It was rare for a female threehorn to slap a male.,, still rarer to slap an alpha male, but Topsy had it coming..

Mr. Threehorn saw stars as he painfully moved his right jaw. Tria had really whacked him hard that time.

Moving back, Topsy had not expected that. He didn't wish to fight his mate...he loved her, but would not tolerate an attack on himself. He had been hit by her tail, so he struck her back with his... Tria went down, hurt more than he was, but this still stopped short of abuse; he HAD acted in self defense... Tria, though not unconscious, decided just to stay down. Topsy lay down next to her, and hoped that in the morning, this whole little slapping incident would be forgotten...

Only because he pressured her did she act like this; normally, Tria was full of kindness and warmth towards her mate... but she had a nasty side when she was pissed... the female Triceratops woke up the next morning to find her mate sleeping on his left side...

Part of her didn't want to do it... but, it would probably keep Topsy from pressuring her to mate that night. While he was still asleep, Tria turned around, positioning her back feet towards Topsy, perpendicular to the space between his back legs... then she kicked him as hard as she could... right where she wanted to...

Pissed as she was, Tria could not help but notice how bad her head ached that morning. As her mate cried out in pain, she went over to some nearby bushes that contained what were known as "Pain Berries" (something like Tylenol in the human world) and began to eat some of the berries. She would need a good number of them to eradicate her terrible headache.

Questioning what the screaming was about, Cera went to see what had happened... she saw her dad lying on the ground, in pain, but noticed what Tria had probably done... this was the third time this had ever happened... Cera knew that he was in no serious danger, and she left Tria and her dad to work it out...

Tria was not as strong as Topsy, but she had surprisingly strong legs and feet...

Sharp pain was the only phrase which could describe it... to be fair, Topsy had kicked his mate in her similar area once before... but he apologized for that profusely, many times... he had gotten mad at her when she spoke out against him at a meeting of other threehorns... in the end, they had both agreed that they had screwed that incident up...

Tria, having eaten her little medicine, walked over to Topsy, who was still lying on the ground, now on his back. She stood over his tail and put her front right foot on his "male part"...
