TPAM should know that I find the first to be a "spit in the face" to the second.
Not saying that I hated the first, its actually one of the best animated films I've seen (and the second best movie I've seen this year after the se-okay midquel), the second just was the one that gets my attention more. If your wondering why I prefer the second over the first, I'll just list a few reasons (too many to list them all):
1. Actors that I'm familiar with from other movies (Jeff Bennett, Rob Paulsen, Jim Cummings, Patrick Swayze and Reba McEntire). Never heard of any of the actors from the first movie.
2. Better singers than the first movie (namely Reba McEntire and Patrick Swayze) I cut the songs out of the first movie once I watched it, I found the songs of the first annoying. There wasn't a single song in the second I cut out.
3. Better storyline than the first movie.
4. Dixie.
5. The movie having more humor than the first movie, yet having the same amount of serious moments as the first. When it comes to animated films, I prefer ones that have a large amount of comedy and drama at the same time. I didn't laugh much at the first movie as I did the second.
6. The second had a better ending. Not sure if this is true for the version of the first movie you've seen, but the one I've seen Tod dies at the end because of the fight with the bear.
