(OOC - Is the kitchen that Nick and all the other chefs in the underground ballroom?)

"Food is running out and morale is extremely low," Haresh said.

"I'll go check," Dr. Kerzach said.

He then left the kitchen and made his way to the Great Valley portal. There he entered and was confronted by a Swimmer archer.

"Greetings, otherworldly being," he said.

"The name's Kerzach and I'd prefer you use it," Dr. Kerzach replied.

"In any case, Kerzach we are setting aside more acres of land for the refugees. They are near the outskirts of the feeding grounds," he replied. "Also, some fish has arrived," he added, pointing to the leaf sled.

Dr. Kerzach nodded and dragged the leaf sled through the portal and carried it back to the kitchen.

"Nick, they're setting aside more land for the refugees but they are on the outskirts of the valley near the feeding grounds and I got some fish," he said, tipping the fish into the sink.

In the Great Valley the wizard took out a thimble from his black back and with a spell turned it into a pot that would cool thick stew with no need for a fire nor food being added.

"Understood," Haresh replied, cutting the transmission. He then got back to preparing the curry.

Dr. Kerzach had finished cleaning and scaling the fish. He placed the garbage in a bucket and carried out to the Great Valley.

When he arrived, he poured the contents of the bucket into a small pit near Mr. Bigmouth's grove excavated by the dinosaurs for the purpose of disposing of waste produced by the weapons manufacture. It already contained stone fragments.

He then rinsed out the bucket and scattered the water across the grass.

Dr. Kerzach then found Grandpa Longneck eating some grass by the main lake. "Sir, about how many refugees are you willing to host?" he asked.

"Well, we already have a few hundred here. Since these refugees are about the size of a Fast-Runner; I would wager that we could theoretically hold 4,000 of them with no problems. But I am only allowing 1,000 more to stay," he replied.

Dr. Kerzach thanked him and headed back to the underground kitchen.

"Nick, the leader said he will allow 1,000 more refugees to stay," Dr. Kerzach replied.

thaat would leave about 1000 still in the hotel' Nick replied doing quick calculations. "simple put we are pressing against the limit of what this hotel and the Great valley will allow.."
Above ground, a portal opened in the lobby and a large silver dragon stepped out ' where is the Imperial Dragon known as Jason? he asked his eye glancing around from person to person..

"He did say that 4,000 refugees can be held in the Great Valley, theoretically but he will not allow that," Dr. Kerzach replied, placing the peeled and washed tubers into the curry.

Mr. Bigmouth stuck his head into the kitchen. "Nick, Kerzach, I'm heading out to the Great Valley to get some fruit so I can make some liquor," he said.

A Wolf refugee had wandered out of the refugee camp and into the Mysterious Beyond. Unfortunately, he attracted the attention of some marauding sickleclaws.

He quickly bolted back to the refugee camp but the raptors followed him in hopes of getting food.

Luckily for him, some Great Valley archers and slingers rushed to defend the valley. Two other dinosaurs ushered him to safety.

"Leave this place immediately!" a archer shouted.

The sickleclaw shook his head and advanced.

In response, the dinosaurs unleashed a volley of arrows and stones that killed some of the sickleclaws. The rest looked around in confusion but continued to advance.

Another volley of arrows and stones killed the remaining sickleclaws.

"Attention all refugees! You are not to leave the valley's walls! It is extremely dangerous out in the Mysterious Beyond!" a Fast-Runner slinger shouted.

Dorathy, needing a break, was heading towards Jason's tardis with Ojo and a few of her friends to take a break in his tardis.

"All these folks here, it is a bit cramped. To bad some of them can't stay in oz. I'm sure Ozma would not mind them staying a little while, since it is an mergency." Dorathy said to Ojo.

"Deimos and Chomper were able to survive on fish and crawlers. You are free to wander around the Great Valley," a Fast-Runner replied.

"See one of us for a spear fishing lesson," a speardino replied.

A Lioness and her mate returned with leaf sleds carrying some fish and crawlers. Both of them had stone tipped spears over their shoulder.

"We're willing to share our catch," the male replied.

Near them, a Human was smoking some fish he had caught with a rod and reel.

Mr. Bigmouth entered the Great Valley and headed to the feeding grounds. He was busy picking the best fruit he could ferment.

Stripetail was sitting at a table With Tarrax and Sara, where Nick found him " The Great Valley will only permit about 1000 more people inside..

"hello there." Sara said to the new arrival, then thinking for a bit, "Maybe if you ask Ozma she may permit some to stay temporarily in Oz. Maybe Dinotopia also. Since there are humans living there with dinosaurs they would not be to surprised with seeing humans." She said. "There is a Troodon doctor there who's a friend of ours that may help here."

The Lion grilled some of the fish over a campfire and handed them to the Wolves. His mate was busy scaling and gutting the fish in preparation to add them to the stew.

"The fish stew is almost ready if anyone wants it," she said.

Dr. Kerzach left the kitchen and met with Stripetail and the others.

"Stripetail, I spoke with the leader, he says that the valley theoretically can hold 4,000 refugees. However, I feel that we should not abuse his generosity as the ecosystem in the valley may not support that many refugees without additional support. I wager that 1,000 refugees is the sustainable limit.

Ms. Swimmer overheard the conversation and joined in. "Stripetail, if we need to, additional refugee camps can be hosted in the Mysterious Beyond but that should be a last resort as marauding dinosaurs - both plant eaters and meat eaters - can pose a serious hazard to the refugees," she said.

a thousand must be the limit" stripetail replied " as for going outside the Valley I do not think it would be safe.. there are too many giant meateaters who would view humans wolves and Bison as delectable snacks. Yet this hotel is not safe in its current condition to have 3-4 thousand occupants in it.. we're pushing our luck with the curent number.. our food supply is quite limited and theres only so much magic can do to allieviate that.."

Chong could very well order another strike of mustard gas.. and that would likely put us out of the game.. it would take days or even weeks to clear, by that time we'd be completely surrounded..and they would control the entire region.." stripetail sighed

The Lion family had finished preparing their fish stew.

"You guys want some?" the Lion asked, offering a plate of roasted fish to the Wolves.

Two nearby Humans were also eating the roasted fish.

At this time, Mr. Bigmouth returned to the kitchen with a leaf sled of fruits and a messenger bag full of various herbs and spices. "Nick, Kerzach, I've got the fruit. Now I have to start fermenting some wine," he said.
