Insane Cafe 3: The Curse of the Haunted Hotel

Deimos quickly ran to fetch his sniper rifle just as Briggins set off the general alarm. Just as he left, a Hawk boy of no more than 11 and his two Vulpine friends took up firing positions. They had been playing tag just moments before.  

Several Great Valley dinosaurs arrived with enchanted explosive tipped spears or bows and enchanted arrows.

The soldier nodded and sent over a platoon of 500 men to the convention center.

The rest of them waited for orders.

Captain Milos ordered a small group to begin repairs to the vehicles, some of which had suffered tremendous damage
_ Are there any rest areas on the base?' Stripetail asked " We'll need cots for our forces.. I imagine many of us are tired from the battle..
_ Briggins sat down and poured himself a drink ' how many creatures do we have at this hotel? I want to know the odds against us?"

[Serris]

Deimos passed by the guest roster. He gasped as he saw the numbers at the hotel. "S---! We're completely f---ed! It's like a 1,500 vs. 6,000 or more," he said into the radio.

He quickly flipped down the battered visor on his armored helmet and took up a sniping position next to three SPDD SWAT snipers.

Two Surf Point Little League baseball players near them had a crate of Molotovs and they were near a hole blasted in the side of the hotel.

"The offices of the company are nearby and have been converted into sleeping quarters," one of the base commanders said.

Haresh and Setsuna worked as fast as possible to convert the scrap metal produced from the repairs into metal soldiers.

Ms. Swimmer, Zachary and the trucker helped replace the severely damaged bulletproof windshield on the "Battle Machine".

4-1, well those are better odds than I thought- send for help from oz and the Great Valley' briggins replied.. " Quickly.."
_  We'll take a few of those rooms' Stripetail said
_ the Digimon and their friends will share 1 room. Scooby and his riends will take enough.. "
 Scooby looked relieved " Ran rou read rus rhere?' he asked a soldier. "Ri read ry reep
_ We need our sleep Dixie translated...
_ How many people can fir in a room? Hunter asked' His quiver was empty..he needed arrosws.
 the enemy forces camped about a mile away from the hotel Chong had appeared via crystal and was giving final orders " Give no quarter, shoot everyne, even if they are unarmed..If this hotel is still standing, athen r you have failed, and you will all face my wrath.. We have already wasted too much time with these fools.. I want the hotel burned to the ground...!"

[Serris]

"Understood," the commander, a wiry Vulpine.

Three robotic soldiers armed with long-range missiles moved up and after clearing an area around them, launched the missiles towards the hotel.

The air rumbled as several mortar shells flew through the air towards the hotel.

"The rooms are converted offices. We can hold two or maybe three people there," the soldier said.

"Follow us," another soldier said.

She led the Pelvanida Group - save those who were repairing the vehicles - and the NUMA group to the office building.

The missiles were shot out of the air by the defenders, but this was just the opening salvo..
_ Return fire!' Briggins cried as the sounbds of battle came through the open windows...

Just 2 or 3? cynder sounded disappointed ' cant we have some sleeping on the floor..
_ You could fit double if you have people sleeping on the floor" tai suggested as they headed up a staircase towards and row od doors ' the first one they came to was opened as Scooby Dixie and Shafgggy were ushered inside. Tigeress followed in after them Tiger was next and Genki
 Cynder Spyro, Tai Agumon and Agumina were given the next room..

The mortars rumbled again as more shells arced towards the hotel. One of the mortar men was killed when Deimos shot him in the head.

The few defenders with .50 caliber sniper rifles returned fire, killing some of the enemy troopers.

"Briggins, they're out of range. Everyone else took all the long range weapons to Neptune city. Most of the drones and combat robots have been destroyed as well," Deimos said via radio. He fired again, dropping another Dragonstorm trooper.

send what drones we have.." Briggins replied. "Its would be no use try to contact the wizard, they're too far away to send help..Just try and keep them from getting any closer
- Fred and Daphne hurried up the stairds holding a handful of weapons..

[Serris]

Deimos radioed the drones to attack the robots.

The hotel shuddered as the mortar shells landed in the back.

One shell landed straight on the roof, punching yet another hole in it.

Deimos swore as a piece of plaster landed on his head. "Briggins, you may have to consider evacuation!" he shouted into the radio. He slid another magazine into his rifle and continued firing.

Where, pray tell could I evacuate them too? I do not want the western areas invaded.. but I fear they will be anyway...unless the enemy can be stopped.." Briggins sighed " Coolsville is the nearest twon west of here and its 300 miles away on foot, they've bolown up the roads around the hotel it will take weeks or even months to fix .. I will not evacuate Deimos unless I have no choice!"

[Serris]

"Do you want to be buried under tons of rubble. The thing I can think of is establish a temporary base camp elsewhere in Surf Point and fight by guerilla warfare," Deimos said. "And Briggins, I hope you have a weapon in case they come closer." He fired off some more shots.

Some Great Valley dinosaurs armed with enchanted bows and javelins filed out of the hotel. They took defensive positions and waited for the enemy to come closer.

Zachary glanced around the converted office. The two desks in the room had been converted into impromptu beds. All the other furniture had been removed to leave space for personal belongings and weapons.

"Well, this will have to do for now," he said.

Dr. Zanasiu took off his protective suit and hung it on the wall. "I'm going to take a shower," he said.

Scooby glanced on the cot on front of him. it was wide enough, barely, for two people " Ri riss ry rotel room" he muttered ' s as he climbed onto the cot, Dixie took a seat next to the cot ' She would sleep on the floor tonight, and give someone else the chance to to use the ciot...

Then we have no good options... hmm.. Briggins frowned.. ' do we have any magicians here? He asked " Any powerful enough to cast an invisibility spell on the hotel?'
 the guests shook thier heads, those msagicians powerful enough to do that had left for Neptune City..Briggins slammed his fist on the table..":' Deimos, take 200 guests and head out to Surf Point.. use whatever building you can find...Hopefully that can draw off a few of them to give chase... to use a poker parlance we have to bluff them.."

Tigeress climbed onto the cot " Hi Scooby" She said grinning slightly.. '  " i definitely need a rest after that battle " Shaggy sat down next to Dixie and patted her on the head.. That fighting really works up an appetite... but sleep comes first..' shaggy yawned.
 Tiger curled up in the corner ' Night guys" he muttered as Genki sat next to him, and used him as a pillow " i miss the guys" He said softly.. 'Holly, and the oithers....'
 Well wwe'll see them again once this is over..' tiger grumbled.. ' do you think they'll like Tih\gress?
_ Why wouldn't they? She'll fit right in..
scooby soon settled off to sleep as did Dixie Shaggy and the resty.
 Spyro and Cynder snuggled together in the next room, tai Agumon and agumina had taken the cot..

Deimos saluted Briggins and headed to the lobby, which was packed with the guests milling about.

"All right," he said. "I need 200 volunteers to head out to a new location."

The volunteers, half of them were below the age of 15 stepped forward. Deimos sighed and radioed Briggins. "Briggins, half the volunteer force are kids," he said.

He then nodded. "All right, move out," he said, unsealing the hotel's door. The air in Surf Point was clean and the moon shone over the ravaged town.

He relied on his natural night vision to guide them to the nearest intact building.

the attackers sent 500 soldiers and 500 metal creatures after them..
 Briggins tried to radio Stripetail " Wizard! We've got a very difficult situation here " an Dragonstorm army of 6000 has appeared a mile away.. we need help over.."
 The message  reached Stripetail as garbled with static " Wizard.. difficult sitiation. Dragonstorm.. 6000 mile away.. need .. over.."
 Stripetail flipped off the switch and headed toward an nearby SangHelli staff member " Do you happen to have a large mirror around? Stripetail asked " I'll need it to perform some magic.

Any luck? a ghost asked Briggins as he set the radio down "I'm not sure, these radios don't have a very good range.. He might have gotten it but only pieces of it..
 Shaggy continued petting dixie then motioned for her to climb on the bed " Scooby would like your company.. He smiled "Fine.. I was going to let someone else have the cot,.." Dixie said climbing on it. Tigress smiled at her and movee to the foot of the cot, in that way the cot could fit more than 2 " you guys tired?' Tigress asked " Yeah, real tired, that battle was intense.." Its only the start of things I think..." tigress said concern on her face.. " I don't want any of my friends to get hurt..
 mitch was being treated for his leg wounds " We have about 70 SPVDF members left.. we had 1500 when this whole thing started..

[Serris]

The soldier nodded. "We'll have to remove the mirror from the bathroom but we don't have a choice," he said. He and several mechanics headed to the bathroom to unscrew the mirror.

"We'll send over  the helicopter gunships Golden Sun and Silver Moon," the commander said. She radioed the airfield.

Deimos and his men were inside a ruined cafe. A Dragonstorm APC rumbled past them.

"Now what?" a Human girl with an SMG asked.

"We plant IEDs and snipe," Deimos said.

[Kor]

Jason looked over the readout in his tardis display.  He picked out a spot that was tactically sound with him and Guilmon waiting till the tardis had materialized.  Jason opened the taris door and threw out a few blackout bombs.  He and Guilmon then went out, with Guilmon digivolving through each of his stages till he finally reached his Gallantmon mode, wishing he could warp digivolve like he had seen 2 other digimon do that he was unable to do, and had not known of such an ability before.  

Jason changed to his imperial dragon form, the total darkness giving them cover so any enemy soldiers could not see into the darkness to fire on Guilmon while he digivolved through his stages.  

The tardis dematerialized and went somewhere else safe.

Stripetail smiled as the mirrior was brought in a few minutes later " Excellent gentlemen just rest it against that chair. " Stripetail ran his paws over it " Now lets see I'm going to have to connect this mirror magically to a mirror in the hotel so Briggins can keep me up to date with what is going on.. he muttered. He then began casting a spell on the mirror in a low voice .. the mirror in the lobby began to glow white and Brriggins heard Stripetail's voice coming "  You got my message! thank gawd... we're in a real pickle here" Briggins said as Stripetail's image appeared in the mirror. " We've got at least 6000 enemy troops about a mile outside the hotel..

Great just great.. we're slowly turning the tide here, we are  starting to regain sections of the city, it'll be some time before we have a coomfortable hold though..

We've sentenced deserters awolers and executed spies and fraghers, this attack is the last thing we need..' briggins replied
_ You've clearly been busy. Go up to my room  number 300, i've left a few magical spells and devices behind, things I didn't need or want for the battle in Neptune City..Go get them//
 Do you have anything that will make the hotel invisible? Briggind asked.
_ Invisibility is largely a trick Briggins, and it wlill not hide the hotel for long,  invisibility usually is designed for persons or a few people at mosrt.
_ We need time wizard, we will not be able to hold them off for long.. it would be different if you were here...

Unfortunately I'm not, and i'm hundreds of mikles away from you, and I can't leave my forces behind, a commander does not do that.. we ar sending over two gunships "Golden Sun" and 'silver Moon', they should be there in a few hours..
 well thats a start' briggins said  ' so invisibility is out?
_ Yes it wouldn't last long , perhaps a couple hours..
the blackout bombs blinded the nearest enemy , slowly covering the area and blotting out the hotel from view

_ Alright I'll get those items from you room.' but how will I contact you. I have a number of magical crystals in my room. Rub one against this mirror and call my name I've magically attached a mirror in the base to one in the hotel. the mirror here will glow and an image of you will form.. Hang in there Briggins, We still have a few things at the hotel and we don't want them destroyed..and we haven't found the treasure the original owner hid..."

Jason had the staff he had been given come out from a vest pocket his clothes had turned into in his current form.  Being able to see in darkness in his current form he then sent a chain lightning spell at a group of nearby foes.

"Cool spell." Gallantmon said, with the same voice as Guilmon had.  

"Yes, it can be a pretty cool spell." Jason said to Gallantmon.
