J.T. bowed to Stripetail.
"Well, I guess I could try my hand at singing," he said.
He then stepped onto the stage and the spectral musicians looked at him.
"All right, I am going to try Amaranth by Nightwish.
The choir sank back into the ground and the metal ghosts returned. The orchestra stayed as well.
The track started with some gentle piano bars and then transitioned into a heavy electric guitar and drum section.
J.T. then began to sing.
Baptized with a perfect name
The doubting one by heart
Alone without himself
War between him and the day
Need someone to blame
In the end, little he can do alone
You believe but what you see
You receive but what you give
True to Rime's boast, J.T. had an extremely clear and powerful voice - so powerful in fact that some wondered if the microphone was even needed. Much to everyone's shock, J.T. was actually capable of hitting the same register that the original singer (who was a woman) sang at. Like Rime, his highest singing voice seemed to be neither masculine nor feminine. Unlike Rime, whose voice was slightly airy and crystalline, J.T.'s voice was akin to that of an opera singer.
This time, no one could even eat or do anything for their eyes and ears were fixated on the unusually gifted singer in front of them.
Deimos dropped his canteen again. "I...I give up at explaining how Rime and J.T. have this seemingly supernatural singing talent. They're f---ing hitting registers that no male should be able to hit," he said.
"Hey, that's what 25 years of practice coupled with a hell of a lot of luck will get you," Zachary replied.

"Told you he was good," Rime said, nudging Dixie. He sipped a glass of water.
