Strut returned to the hotel. After several minutes he returned with another weapon, this time it was a shovel.

"He's right. We need to find this curse and break it." Zachary said, replacing the ax in his scabbard.

Deimos turned to Odysseus. "We have no special powers. Everyone of my friends are mortal. And yet, we persist."

He then turned to Brooklyn. "None of my friends can even glide."

He turned to the The Tourist, Velma and Sara and spoke. "Your intelligence combined with magic can exceed anything we can even think about. We have no magic, we can't even light a candle without tools."

"Not a lot I can do with my magic." Sara said.

"Not a lot I can do with my science, medical knowledge, as for my magic it's so feeble it's best not mentioned." The Tourist said. "As for intelligence I'd not rate mine as all that high."

"Not much I can't do unless there is something to shot with my pistol or hack with my sword, which is hidden. Speaking of which." Odysseus said, "Best hide this, no need to get arrested for having a gun." He said as he handed his pistol to The Tourist who put it into one of his many pockets. "As for powers none of us really have powers, apart from very acute senses that some have, and one of us can glide. " Odyseus said.

You said better then what I was going to say.Sam said.

"Same with me." Brooklyn said.

"Now if you want ghost busters I know of some, there are 2 of them and they have a gorilla team mate. Their pretty goofy but they have not failed in a mission yet." The Tourist said. "I can go and fetch them."

Tarrax looked at her.. "It doesn't matter! Start thinlking of what you CAN do, instead of complaining about what you can't! Trust me, I've wasted decades doing just that, and it didn't help me one bit..."
He pointed to each of them in turn. "My master said very good thing aboiut each of you, even though he dosen't know many of you all that well, he's got a good instinct about people. What would your friends and families say about you now, Oddyseus? They would not recognize you, the man who once challenged the ancient gods, and defied them. Your name has become Legend Oddyseus..
He then looked at Sara, giving her a through looking over, "If you're Sara, then let me tell you , my lady, I do not date cowards who whine about what they aren't, or about what they don';t have. have coinfidence in yourselves! Brooklyn" He gave the gargoyle a looking over. "what would your mate and child say, if they saw you like this? Compose yourself"

Strut's stomach growled. "I'm getting something to eat."

"I'll be in Spyro's room. I need to guard him. Bring me something to eat." Deimos said.

"I'm hungry too. Combat takes a lot of energy out of you." Zachary added.

Strut, Deimos and Zachary then headed into the hotel

"Energy like a digimon I guess. You should see how much they eat after a combat. Especially some digimon friends of mine. I should look them up and visit them." The Tourist said as he took out a small container of some air popped popcorn from one of hi pockets to eat.

"and as for lighting a candle with magic, I think it would take me around 5 minutes if I have no distractions." The tourist said between eating his popcorn.

"For lighting candles I don't do that, I use a cigarette lighter like this one from 1917." The tourist said taking out a 1917 era cigarette lighter. "Anyone can use this." He said as he put it back and took out a tiny 17th century box, "or these lucifer matches from 1632, though they do stink so I try not to use them." he said.

"Got anything good in the pockets? " Brooklyn asked. The Tourist took out an apple and handed it to him. "You were reading this last time." He said and took out a rolled up comic and handed it to Brooklyn who found a place to sit and started to read the comic where he had left off, once unrolled it could be seen to be action comics issue 1.

"The future, I didn't know they sold lucifer matches in the 21st century. I thought they had stopped back, at some year, I forget when." The Tourist said.

Surely, you've picked up articles from the future" tarrax said looking at him. He then looked at Sara. She was smaller than he was, but she had the bearing of a noble dragon. " His voice softened slightly. "You must be Sara, please tell me a little about yourself..'

The Tourist shrugged, "nah, the most futuristic item I have were these feather shuriken that gatchaman 2 gave me and a copy of both action comics issue 1,000 and superman issue 1,000. " The Tourist said. "The feather shuriken were only good really for target practice, not practical weapons." The Tourist said holding a bent feather shuriken. "Really useless in combat really. But they were fun to use in target practice." The Tourist said. "I have just this bent 1 left. The next most advanced thing I have is a doctor's black bag from the 1940's, but it won't fit in my pockets so I keep it in my tardis."

Sara shrugged a bit shy and not thinking she was very special. "I'm not very spectacular. My family are on the imperial council, though the emperor has the real power, it does the day to day stuff for the most part, and a few members are on the emperor's personal advisers. I met the Tourist here during a certain adventure that led to his being adopted by the emperor as one of his sons, as well as another option that he can ask for after his 12th regeneration & a few ministers being, well punished for what they did, and them being replaced and some of my family being put on his personal advisers. & later The Tourist was named the imperial family physician. He's mine as well as some of my family also." Sara said.

Deimos went upstairs to Spyro's room.

He was waved through by the guards.

"Hey, guys, you can go eat, I'll take over for now." Deimos said.

Dr. Zanasiu, Dr. Kerzach, Rime and Mr. Bigmouth headed down to the first floor.

Anton, Ivan, Chris and Paul were already in the dining room.

"Hello Anton." Zachary said.

"Uh hello..." Anton said.

"His name's Zachary." Paul whispered.

"Hello Zachary."

Paul sighed. "It's too bad we didn't make it down to the lobby in time; we would have been able to help."

"No you wouldn't have." Ms. Swimmer said.

"Say what?" Paul said, his eyes narrowing slightly.

"She speaks the truth." Strut said. "He was able to dodge simultaneous attacks from 4 of us. And cut my original weapon, a crowbar in 2 with his sword. Deimos even emptied 20 rounds of .357 SIG into him, with no effect!"

"We would have needed something like an anti-tank missile to take him down." Zachary said.

Zachary got up and headed to the buffet.

Sara looks away a bit feeling shy, "Thanks." She said at the compliment of looking attractive, "You are attractive also. Though I do agree intelligence is more important then looks."

She nods, "I'm a member of the council. They meet around 8-10 months of the year, sometimes less and sometimes more, depending on the need. I do have some friends on the council, quite a few, and some relatives also. Though there is one strange fellow who sometimes wants the council to meet so they can discuss if they should discuss meeting at the next meeting. Like, "I move we should discuss if we want to meet tuesday to discuss if we should meet thursday and during the thursday meeting discuss if we should meet monday." sort of thing."

The Tourist took out a bit of beef jerky and an issue of superman number 1 and unrolled it and started to read it. Ian tapped him on the shoulder and asked him a question quietly to which the Tourist nodded and took out a copy of The Time Machine, personally signed by the author to him and which he was nice enough to add in some margin notes on certain pages explaining or commenting.

Tarrax groaned. ' I know a few beasts like those. They like meeting for the sake of meeting. A fine use of the dragon populations' money" He rolled his eyes. ' So how long have you been a member of the Council?' He asked. " I brought some books for light reading" He said pulling a backpack ot of midair and opened it. he reached inside and pulled out a few books. "The Count of Monte Cristo, signed by Dumas Himself" He said, handing it to Velma. "Les Miserables", first edition, please be careful with it" He aid handing it to Brooklyn , and one of my favorites . "Great Expectations" He smiled handing it to Oddyseues.

Sara nods, "The imperial family member or representative usually tells him he'll second his motion if he lets him or the emperor eat him and he usually with draws the motion. He's been pretty quiet for a while now."

Dixie meanwhile had gone back to Stripetail's rooom to check on Spyro.. "He should wake up pretty soon right?' She asked.. "Any time now.." stripetail replied..

Really?" Tarrax smiled. "quite the inventive mind. I once created a magical paper that could write on itself.. Didn't sell well though..well, when I first created it.. I was approached a few hundred years ago by a dragon paper company who wanted to use my idea. Well, If they wanted to use my idea, they've have to pay me well for it, in royalties. Well they agreeed, and every month or so I get a cheeck from them. "Dragomalin,Paper Compoany" They're called. Good beasts, the paper has sold well, andd made money for both of us.. But enough about me" Tarrax said, Looking at Sara intently across the table. "What do you like to do? You play any dragon-sports?
