Sara went back to the book with the mention of the wizard and took out a sheet of paper and put it into the book where the mention of the warlock was. She closed the book and cast a copy spell on the book and paper and reopened the book and the paper she had put into the book now looked exactly like the 2 pages. This paper she put aside. "in case someone needs to refer back to this information." She said. She looked at Tarrax, "Do you think that Stripetail fellow would want to see this?" She asked him as she picked up the paper with the copy of the 2 pages.

The more the better.. and I see Tarrax has changed your appearance. why the change?' Stripetail said softly, his voice dropping. "I'm heading to the hotel library on the 7th floor. "Its rarely used nowadays, accordings to Briggins, but it might be a good place to look for information.."

"The entire Pelvanida Group has a large bounty placed on it." Zachary (Ian Holmes) whispered.

"We'll search in the 4th floor." Dr. Kerzach (Mark Hathaway) said. He flicked out his switchblade and headed up to the 4th floor.

Zachary (Ian Holmes) readied his rifle and followed.

Anton, Chris, Ivan and Paul went down the stairs and passed by Dr. Kerzach (Mark Hathaway) and Zachary (Ian Holmes). They then entered the dining room.

"That Emu smells like Dr. Yuri Kerzach." Anton said, grabbing a plate and filling with steak.

"Dr. Kerzach is a Cassowary, not an Emu." Chris said, taking an plate and filling it with pasta.

"Scent does not lie."

"Hmm. That mage must have altered their appearance but no matter, they'll eventually reveal themselves." Ivan said, filling a soup bowl with borscht.

"Here's a mention of the hotel and the curse." Velma said from the book she was looking at about haunted hotels, motels, and inns. "Not a lot of info maybe but something."

Zachary (Ian Holmes) found a groove on a wall. As he examined it, he discovered it was a door. He looked around for a switch and finding none, he kicked the door down.

Zachary (Ian Holmes) and Dr. Kerzach (Mark Hathaway) entered the door and found what appeared to be some kind of laboratory. The air was permeated with a smell of old books and dust.

"Where are we?" Zachary (Ian Holmes) asked.

Dr. Kerzach (Mark Hathaway) shrugged. "I don't know."

"So I see you found something that belongs to Chong; too bad, you won't live to share it with Stripetail." a voice said.

Zachary (Ian Holmes) looked at the voice. He could make out a wiry anthro Lemur wearing some kind of silvery robe.

"Do not test us!" Dr. Kerzach (Mark Hathaway) shouted.

The Lemur chuckled. "You do not have magic. I do." he threw a fireball at Zachary (Ian Holmes) who rolled behind a crate and opened fire.

A few of the bullets burrowed into the Lemur before he gestured and the rest of the bullets clattered to the ground. "A good attempt. But futile." He threw another fireball at the crate and was answered with a burst of rifle fire. The bullets spattered against the shield, causing it to flicker. After another burst, the shield broke and the Lemur suffered several gunshot wounds.

"Ugh. So...you truly are dangerous?" The Lemur said, coughing.

Zachary (Ian Holmes) said nothing as he reloaded and shot the Lemur several more times. The Lemur gestured again and the rest of the bullets clattered to the ground. The Lemur responded by hurling several bolts of green fire that exploded into green fireballs. One of the fireballs struck Dr. Kerzach (Mark Hathaway) but did not affect him.

"The bullets are not doing anything! Mark, hold him off while I get the grenade launcher!" Zachary (Ian Holmes) shouted. He then ran out of the room.

"So you think a knife is going to affect me?" The Lemur taunted, throwing a fireball at Dr. Kerzach (Mark Hathaway).

Dr. Kerzach (Mark Hathaway), leapt out of the fireball's path and burst forward, driving the knife into the Lemur's stomach.

The Lemur did not flinch even as 6 inches of metal found its way into his stomach. "Fool, normal weapons cannot harm me."

Dr. Kerzach (Mark Hathaway) held up the bloody switchblade. "Looks like I harmed you."

The Lemur gestured and teleported behind Dr. Kerzach (Mark Hathaway).

Dr. Kerzach (Mark Hathaway) barely dodged an electrified punch that left the air smelling of ozone.

He ducked around the Lemur's electric blows and stabbed him once more.

The Lemur pointed to Dr. Kerzach's (Mark Hathaway's) right arm and made a gesture. Immediately, Dr. Kerzach's (Mark Hathaway's) arm became paralyzed.

"Clever. But I am ambidextrous!" Dr. Kerzach (Mark Hathaway) said, quickly transferring the switchblade to his left hand. He weaved around the Lemur's lightning and fireball attacks and grabbed a beaker of acid from the lab bench and hurled it at the Lemur.

The Lemur gestured and the beaker shattered in midair and the acid droplets flew at Dr. Kerzach (Mark Hathaway), who leapt behind a crate, the acid doing nothing but corroding the crate.

"Give it up! You lost!" the Lemur said icily.

Zachary (Ian Holmes) had removed the grenade launcher from its case and loaded it with HEAT rounds. He quickly ran to the 4th floor and found Dr. Kerzach (Mark Hathway) crouched behind a crate.

"Guess who!" Zachary (Ian Holmes) said to the Lemur before he fired 2 HEAT rounds at the Lemur.

"You cannot harm me." The Lemur said, gesturing and forming a clear barrier.

"Guess again." Zachary (Ian Holmes) said.

The HEAT rounds impacted against the barrier and the jet of molten copper eroded it. The Lemur's face bore an expression of shock as the jet of molten copper began to struck him and knocked him to the ground.

Zachary switched to his rifle, ran up to the Lemur and shot him several times in the head at point-blank range, finally killing him. "Get Stripetail."

Dr. Kerzach (Mark Hathaway) ran out of the room and found Stripetail.

"Stripetail, Ian has killed one of Chong's mages. We found him in a laboratory in the 4th floor." Dr. Kerzach (Mark Hathaway) said.

Stripetail said nothing but ran down to the 4th floor. He entered the lab which smelled of gunpowder acid, and blood. He stood over the lemur, and felt for a pulse. Finding none, he stood up. "This one's dead. Did he say anything before attacking you?' he looked at Mark with a look of interest in his eyes..

We definitely have information for Stripetail" dixie said, as Tigress came up with some books. "Hey you guys don't mind me checking these out? They're not related to the search I just wanted somethingf to read while we stay at the hotel..

Sara took out some more paper and did her copy spell over the pages with the information she had found, as well as what Velma and the other people had found and put them into a neat pile.

"There, that should keep the information in one place." Sara said.

"Handy spell, better then a photocopier." Velma said.

Zachary (Ian Holmes) lowered his rifle. "The mage said that we have found 'something that belongs to Chong'. By which I think he means this lab. "

Dr. Kerzach's (Mark Hathaway's) right arm gradually regained sensation as soon as the enemy mage was killed. "He taunted us too. Big mistake."

Inside the kitchen the group of mages looked at the red crystal. It showed the Lemur mage getting killed by Zachary (Ian Holmes) and Dr. Kerzach (Mark Hathaway).

"I told you they were dangerous!" the Monitor Lizard said.

"They haven't encountered the full might of Chong's mages." the Persian Cat replied.

While Sara was doing the copy spells and getting the copied pages into an neat pile Velma picked up an old dusty looking book. She noticed the seemed to feel odd, thicker then the spine looked.

When she opened it she saw why as she saw the book had an envelop stuck in it, which she saw when she looked closer. She took out the envelope and took out the letter and looked it over.

"Jinkies look at this, this is another clue to add to those we all found." Velma said.

Don't take any more risks than you have to. This one was a powerful mage that you killed' Stripetail said fingering through the Lemur's ronbes and coming out with a number of scrolls and vials. Reading the scrolls, he frowned."This was a Level 2 mage, a powerful mage indeed. Level 1 mages are very rare, and almost impossible to kill without magic." stripetail frowned. No doubt the other mages know that you killed him.. and they will only redouble their efforts to destroy Aves and Nick, and you as well."

Zachary (Ian Holmes) gulped. "I have a feeling we're going to encounter a firefight like nothing we've ever seen before. But we will not go down without a fight!"

Dr. Kerzach (Mark Hathaway) looked at Nick. "Nick, we have found Chong's lab. Keep the armor and rifle with you at all times. Um, can you use a grenade launcher?"

Dr. Zanasiu (Timothy Johnson), Mr. Bigmouth and Ms. Swimmer had a whole stack of photocopied articles.

"Dixie! I think we've got all the info we need!" Deimos (Acheron) said.

"We can add that to what we already have and give it to that person you folks work for." Velma said.

"Yes, though I don't work for him myself. He'll have quite a bit of information and text to read through so he should be happy, for a while at least." sara said.

Briggins will not allow a grenade launcher in here" Nick said firmly. "I could get fired if he found out I let you sneak one into the hotel"

"Yes, this will be the most difficult battle of your lives. It would be best not to bring grenades or other explosuives, a skilled mage can fire those right back at you, and they will not hesitate to use killing spells either, if they can. yes, magic can kill...' Stripetail said. "whether you believe in it or not, doesn't matter if one of those spells hits you.. its finis for you.."

"If explosives and firearms don't work well; how can we fight them? Can we use energy weapons or airburst munitions?" Zachary (Ian Holmes) asked.

"Are these killing spells line of sight only?" Dr. Kerzach (Mark Hathaway) asked. "And Ian, we got Acheron that big .50 cal rifle with the SLAP rounds."
