As Wargeymon continued to soar through skies, he noticed the increased pressure on his back. He glanced back with his eyes, not tilting his head at all, and saw Agumina clutching him ever so tightly with her head down as her whole body moved involuntarily to keep itself warm.
He turned his gaze back to the direction of which he was flying and said nothing. With great subtlety, he slightly raised the tops of his wings which slowed him down a bit, but blocked most of the chilling wind from hitting her.
Agumina though, was too distraught at the time to even notice she wasn't so cold anymore. Her body did stop shivering, but her mind was too full to register something as trifle as her own comfort.
"Am I really showing love for him?" she pondered. "All I seem to do is bring him grief. I only want him to be happy. Does he really want me around?" Her last thought greatly troubled her in spirit, and she wondered what could possibly be done to make him happy, or more exactly, what could she do about it? She finally made up her mind.
"Only one thing can settle this," she thought to herself. She looked over the edge of Wargreymon's body. Suddenly, he felt no more weight on his back...
He jerked his head back, then downward. Agumina quickly plummetted towards the hard ground below.
"You fool!" he shouted, dropping altitude himself to get to her before she met her end.
"Ugh," he said from weariness. "I don't have enough energy left stay in Mega form much longer. I've almost reached my limit..."
As he flew faster, he knew that he wouldn't make it in time with his waining strength. With the last of his energy, he shouted, "Great Tornado!" He spun around with unbelievable speed, but not at Agumina.
"This attack would get her if the falling impact doesn't," he thought. Instead, he aimed downward, towards the location she would be landing. Right before getting to ground, Wargreymon said to himself, "No more energy..." as he turned back into Agumon as he hit the ground. Agumina landed on top of him, which broke her fall completely, but Agumon wasn't moving at all...
She quickly got off of Agumon, reached down to him, and shook him saying, "Agumon? Agumon? Agumon get up! Please! Agumon!? Please don't leave me." Agumon's body remained motionless. Agumina was too stunned at her realization of what was happening to speak another word, and simply bent over him and wept uncontrollably.
"Mmm? Am I- dead?" Agumon thought. He slowly opened his eyes. He ached all over, but most of all where there was pressure being put on him. "Agumina? Oh good. She's okay. But, she's kind of hurting me..."
"Agumina, would please let up a little? I'm hurting enough as it is."
"He really will be with me always," she managed to say as she continued to get choked up. "I can still hear him in my heart."
"Your heart isn't hearing me, it's your ears!"
"Even his loud tone is still with me. We truly were as close as we could be."
"I'll say we are! And my "loud tone" is actually under you."
"Wait, Agumon? You're all right? You are all right!" she gave him a big hug.
"Owww!"
"Oops, sorry."
"Aw, it's okay."
"But what happened? You were about to fade away!" She shuddered at that thought.
"I didn't thanks to you."
"Huh?"
"Your tears."
"What about them?"
"They contained the very essence of what is good. Your pure love was released in the tears that you shed for me, and I stand- lie here because of the healing energies within them. Thank you for saving me life."
Agumina was taken back by this, then she smiled at him deeply.
"That's amazing. So the tears of love from Digimon have healing powers to bring back life. Wow."
"Oh, not really. The ground is fairly soft around here, so I was just knocked out from the impact for a bit. The ground is fairly soft around here, so I wasn't dying."
"What!? Then why did you just say-"
"Because I wanted to see your famous smile again," he replied before she could finish, as he slowly got to his feet.
"Did you just say "famous" in regards to me?" she said, shocked.
"No, I was talking about your smile. You're just an average, obsessive Digimon."
"Hey!"
"But I have to know one thing."
"Hmmm? What is it?"
"Why did you try to kill yourself?"
"What? I wasn't trying to kill myself! I can't be around the famous Agumon if I'm gone now, can I?"
He ignored her "famous Agumon" thing and asked, "Then why exactly did you dive off my back while being over a mile off the ground?"
"I just wanted to know if you would come and save me. Faced with the decision of being rid of me, if you caught me, that would mean you still wanted me around."
"Well of course I want you around! You're my good friend. But Agumina, if you weren't sure I would save you, than you consciously risked your life. Your body isn't as sturdy as mine; you could have easily died if you had hit the ground!"
"No."
"Huh?"
"If you wouldn't have saved me, I would have died on the inside long before hitting the ground. My will to live on comes from being by your side. My desire to live on comes from being by your side. If you didn't want me around, I wouldn't have had the will to be around at all."
"Agumina, I had no idea you felt so, so-"
"Will you just shut up and kiss me?"
"I-"
But Agumina didn't wait for his answer.
(A long time afterwards)
"Please- no more- need air," Agumon gasped.
"Ha ha ha! You can fight Dark Masters all day but you can't even keep up a kiss?" she joked.
"Hey, I used my energy up to save you remember?" he replied, still breathing heavily.
"Oh that's right! I just had a thought. How do we get back to the hotel with no more energy?" she wondered. "The movie's surely well underway by now."
"We still have half of our energy," Agumon corrected.
"What do you mean?" she asked him, very confused.
"We're a team Agumina, and you still have your energy."
"You mean that you want me to digivolve to get us back?" He nodded in reply.
"But Tai and his digivice are too far away."
"Not too long ago they weren't," Agumon responded. Then he added, "You got hit with the digivice energy too; you can still warp digivolve, since you never used the power you got like I did."
"But I tried before, and couldn't figure out how, remember? And you said that you couldn't help me."
"Perhaps a bit of advice might help you a little bit. Don't try to stress your body and force the energy to pump through you. Relax and focus your energy into the core of your body, and then it will flow throughout your body naturally, and as the energy transforms your body, its power will then be yours to control."
"You didn't consider that to be helping?" she asked incredulously. "What did you think I meant when I said I wanted you to help me digivolve like that?"
"Words often aren't enough for you Agumina, so I really had my doubts about how I could assisst you."
"Actions do speak louder than words, but I know that words have their place as well. But don't worry; I'll try to listen to you more," she declared.
"Oh really?" Agumon thought to himself.
"Okay, I'm trying it now!" she exclaimed.
"Thanks for the warning. I'm standing back." She shot him a friendly frown, then started.
She closed her eyes and shouted, "Agumina warp digivolve to: Wargreywomon!" She felt her body start to bulge and overwhelming energy coursed through her. "Did it work right?" she asked Agumon, afraid to open her eyes.
"Uh, well, mostly," he answered.
"Huh? What's wrong!?" she asked in a panic.
"Your rear end is enormous."
"What!?" she screamed, opening her eyes and taking a look.
"Ha, made you look!"
"Oh, you are so riding second class for that."
Agumon chuckled. "Well, let's just get back. I'm sure Tai will be in a frenzy for us taking off and leaving him like that."
"Oh, right, Tai..."
"Don't worry so much. Tai's a good, forgiving guy you know. He won't try to kill you like Piedmon or anyone- I don't think..." Wargreywomon turned pale under her helmet.
"Uh, that isn't what I, um, I didn't mean that last part. Look, whatever happens from now on, we're in this together, okay?"
"Okay, thanks," she replied, calming down. "All right then, let's head back." She hunched over as Agumon climbed aboard.
"Here we go!"
"Wait, don't take off too fa- Whoa!" he yelled, grabbing on to one of her wings as she took off into the sky. She soared through the night air very quickly, and Agumon started to shiver.
"Hey uh, could you lean the top of your wings up? Getting all this cold wind is really chilling me."
"Don't be silly. I'l get back as fast as I can, but you know it's too hard to bend wings even slightly while flying like this."
"Oh, nevermind. Let's just hurry then before I catch a cold."
"Sure thing," she called back, as they began to approach the hotel even faster, which caused even more of a wind chill. Soon, the building was in sight.
"A- achoo!" Agumon exclaimed. He rubbed his snout and said to himself, "I may be brave, but I was afraid of this. Achoo!"
Wargreywomon heard him sneezing and said, "Oh, I'm sorry you got sick, but don't worry. When we get back inside the hotel, I won't leave your side for a moment and nurse you back to health until you make a complete recovery. I know just how to take of someone who's sick."
"Gee, thanks Agumina. I can't wait..."
