Gommamon Scooby and Dixie gout out behind the barrier and began klooking for the generator. The generator was giving off heat which became palpable as they got closer... 'Finally after digging through the debris they managed to unearth it.. and pull it out. " RIRe" scooby said pointing his ring at it
the fireball hit the generator but did nothing..Dixie cast a firenball at it too, with no better luck..

Anton broke off from the battle and ran into the truck. He radioed Dixie and Scooby. "Dixie, Scooby! There's some satchel charges in the truck. Use them to destroy the generator but don't set it off until Stripetail gives the word!"

He then leaned out of the truck's cab and shot a mage. The trucker swore as his pistol jammed.

got it! Dixie replied' and the three of them dove back into the tunnel and hurried outside hthe barrier. In a few minutes they climbed out and headed over to the Truck. The Satchel charges were in the back of the Truck. and each of them took one of the charges. Scooby went first " re;ve rot rhe rharges" he said into his ring : Set them next to the generators and then get out of the area. after a minute, detonate the charges ' stripetail replied. that hopefully will destroy the shield.. The trio quickly found the generator and set the charges next to them " Ok, thats done now lets get back to the others" dixie said jumping back into the hole, followed by Gomamamon and Scooby
Dixie was the first to reach the other side and was helped out by Tigress ' Alright everyone get a safe distance away, behind that building over there' Stripetail said hisa shield deflecting spells cast by enemy mages. compared to Stripetail, these mages were weak amateurs. " anton? care to do the honors> Dixie asked as they gathered behind a building, which has once been a gift shop..

Anton nodded as everyone got into cover. He then set off the charges, a massive explosion tore through the air as the generator was completely destroyed. Pieces of debris pinged off the armored truck.

Ceela, her troops, Zachary, Strut, Deimos, Rime and Dr. Zanasiu finished off the rest of the troops.

Captain Fairchild gasped as he saw an armored metal dragon rising from the remains of the Cobia Bay city hall about a mile away. "Stripetail, this is Captain Fairchild! I have a visual on a metal dragon near City Hall. I will need to call for backup!"

"But I want to see what I do against it!" he thought.

He then climbed and then dove towards the dragon, letting loose with a hail of 30 mm shells that tore through the dragon's armor. The dragon screeched and propelled a flaming bolt of fire at him. The magical fire struck his belly and some more fuel started leaking out. His built in sealing system quickly stopped the leakage but then the dragon opened up with an anti-air missile that he diverted using chaff.

Deimos was close enough to Stripetail to hear the radio message. "S---! That must be where the mind control array is," he said.

He then heard the noise of battle through the open comm. "And it sounds like he's in deep s---," he added.

(OOC - If someone else wants to play Major Lockie "Spectre", the living male AC-130 gunship that is fine by me.)

Were sending Tarrax and Sara over to assist' Stripetail replied , just hangf in there Fairchild until help arrives.." He turned to the others " That dragon is likely the last bit of defense.. once it is taken out, the town will be ours. we can then proceed to recruit volunteers from the townsfolk and move on to the next target.
_ Spyro anbd Cynder had located a convoy of Dragonstorm forces and were engaging them with a combinations of attacks, such as Shadow and Ice,m Fire and Fear and Wind and Electricity

Capt. Fairchild kept firing with his 30 mm autocannon. Suddenly, he felt his cannon run out of ammunition. He swore and let loose with his remaining high explosive rockets. He then jettisoned his empty rocket carriers, letting them free fall to the earth.

The hail of rockets and armor piercing shells had caused the dragon to start smoldering. Another missile launched from the dragon blew off the tip of his right wing.

Major Martin Lockie or "Spectre" as he was known to his friends was heading towards Surf Point. The living AC-130 gunship had heard about the plight of the region and he had decided to assist - lest the power mad warlock Chong attack his region as well. His girlfriend, a living F-16 fighter by the name of Second Lieutenant Gen Martin, decided to tag along. They were cruising at an altitude of 45,000 feet and headed towards Surf Point, where they were told there would be a functioning airport. They had to bypass Telson Air Force Base because the airmen there may not know how to react to a living plane.

Both the planes looked exactly like their non-living counterparts, except for eyes where the cockpit windows would be and a mouth below the nose of the plane.

Ms. Swimmer was working in the library with Haresh and Mr. Bigmouth. She was tasked with the precision work of removing the gems from the jewelry.

She ignored the din as a repair crew patched up some bullet holes and several broken windows.

Sara got the news and took off, sending Jason, & some others near where he was, a telepathic message as she flew to the location.

"You'd best go." Jason said to Guilmon who took off his morpher he kept on an armband on his upper arm. He quickly morphed to his Gallantmon crimson mode and took off into the air to meet up with Sara.

Gallantmon crimson mode summoned his spear Gungnir. He sent out a blast that looked like a blast of bright light that he sent at the mechanical dragon as he remained in the air.

Sara did a quick spell to alter he breath weapon, breathing out a line of lightning at the mechanical dragon, thinking that the lightning may play havoc on some of it's internal systems near where the lightning hit.

"Thank you for the help!" Capt. Fairchild rasped. He launched his WP incendiary rockets at the dragon's eyes, completely destroying the cameras.

A missile fired from the dragon struck his left engine, crippling it.

By this time, it was a marvel that he was still flying. Black streaks of coagulated hydraulic fluid marred his belly and flanks.

He then radioed Stripetail. "Stripetail, I'll need to head back for repairs," he gasped.

Major Lockie radioed Ft. Inglorious. "Fort Inglorious ground control, this is Major Martin Lockie - callsign Lima-foxtrot-niner, requesting permission to land at Surf Point Airport."

2nd Lt. Martin radioed in as well. "Fort Inglorious ground control, this is 2nd Lt. Gen Martin - callsign kilo-x-ray-seven, requesting permission to land at Surf Point Airport."

Both living planes circled until they got permission to land.

They already knew that Ft. Inglorious had command of the airport and that the airport's control tower was pretty much non-existent so they chose to contact Ft. Inglorious's ground control instead.

_ understood Fairchiold.Excellent job. Go get fixed up and head back out as soon as you can" stripetail replied.
Tarrax hit the now blind dragon wioth another blast ripping off a large portion of his lreft wing.. " iuts on its last legs! Knock it out!" he commanded.
Spyro and Cynder by now had taken command of thier basttle.. the few survivors of the convoy below were scattering, leavingthe ruined debris of the tanks and metal minions behind.
Debris frrom the falling dragonbarely missed shaggy , who had to dive for cover. " zoinks! that almost had my name on it!"

Gallantmon Crimson Mode continued to use his attacks on the mechanical dragon, focusing on attacking any visible distance weapons to reduce it's combat effectivness even more.

Then if there were none he'd focus on blasting damaged areas to damage them more.

Scooby and dixie used magic to drive back the Dragonstrom defenders, while debris from the dragon continued o fall. the creature was now starting to fall apart..
keep it up! striptail said blasting away at the enemy " the dragon won't last much longer..

Major Lockie and 2nd Lt. Martin landed at the airport. Luckily, they had plenty of ammunition so they just simply chose to rest and refuel.

Again, the living planes attracted plenty of stares from the ground crew. Particularly when Major Lockie affectionately nuzzled 2nd Lt. Martin.

Nevertheless, the ground crew quickly hooked up the fuel trucks as they were ordered to.

Back at Ft. Inglorious, Captain Fairchild, now trailing smoke from his damaged engine, gingerly landed at the airfield.

Several firefighters were on standby in case Captain Fairchild burst into flame but he reassured them that was impossible.

He obligingly opened his ventral hatch to lower the spent autocannon magazine onto a waiting lift.

Several of the mechanics were a bit baffled at what to do until Captain Fairchild spoke up.

"You f---ing incompetents! I am compatible with standard A-10 parts!" he shouted, coughing up some black hydraulic fluid onto the tarmac.

The crew chief radioed Briggins. "Briggins, send out an order for an A-10 jet engine, an A-10 tail and an A-10 elevator," she said.

Several of her men got to work cleaning up the scorch marks and coagulated hydraulic fluid on his flank and belly. Several more were carefully removing the still live 20 mm shells and fragments that were stuck inside him. Even more were busy repairing his wings.

A crane helped remove his ruined left jet engine.

Anton and Paul had found two discarded RPGs inside the ruined building and they launched the rockets at the now severely damaged mechanical dragon.

Deimos was using his .50 caliber rifle to snipe any weak spots that were exposed.

The rest of the group decided to retreat inside the truck until the dragon was destroyed.

So exactly what are you? asked one of the crew members to Lt Martin. " I'm never dealt with a living plane before..
Tarrax let forth with a final flurry and the remining parts of the dragon crumbled as it did a white light spread over the town and the shield around the area which had blocked the m from progressing dissipated
_ alright lets finish this up! Tiger said, allowing a rare smile as he ran after the reteating enemy..

Sara, & Gallantmon Crimson Mode continued their attacks on the dragon, attempting to focus on the weakened areas to try to maximize the damage or at least knock out or more severely damage the nearby and underlying systems.

Jason and the others focused on fighting any nearby troops and working their way inward.

"I'm a living machine. A F-16 Fighting Falcon to be exact. Pretty much the same as a non living fighter except there is no need for a pilot. Not to mention I can under take flight patterns that would cause a living pilot to black out and I have a limited ability to self heal " Lt. Martin replied.

The fuel hoses disconnected as soon as her tanks were filled.

Major Lockie yawned as the fuel continued flowing into him. "Wonder where Captain Fairchild is?" he asked.

"Shields down!" Rime shouted as he looked at his PDA. "But I'm detecting some kind of strange energy coming from the city hall!"

"Well, let's go over there and blow it to hell!" Deimos shouted.

Anton and Paul entered the truck along with Ceela and her troops.

"Dixie! Scooby! We're heading to the city hall now!" Dr. Zanasiu shouted as he climbed into the truck.

Captain Fairchild had overheard Briggins. "That's Captain Fairchild not 'Mister Fairchild'!" he said via radio. He then coughed up more hydraulic fluid. He was missing his damaged engine and several crew members were filling up the bullet holes in his armored body with a special metal repair paste concocted by Haresh.

"Captain, the parts have arrived," the crew chief said. She gently patted one of the few undamaged areas on his flank.

Two trucks carrying the aforementioned parts pulled up to his airfield and forklifts unloaded them.

"Good."

The spare engine was quickly hoisted from its crate by a crane and bolted into place. The elevator and and tail were hoisted into place and welded.

The welding process to him would have merely been a pleasant warmth. And judging from the smile on his face, he seemed to enjoy it.

"Okay, so you ready to fly yet?" the crew chief asked.

Captain Fairchild scowled. "You have got to be kidding!? I lost an engine, the tips of my wings, my tail, my elevator and a good amount of hydraulic fluid. Give me a day or two to heal."

The crew chief scratched her head. "Anything else I can get you, Captain?"

"I could use lunch."

"Sorry, forgot to refuel you as well."

At her command, a fuel truck pulled up to Captain Fairchild and connected its hoses to his fueling port.

got it1 Dixie said as she rapidly climbed back imnto the mystery machine.. ' re'll re right rehimnd rou' Scooby said as they waited for the rest of the group to climb in. once they wer all safely buckled in.. scooby started the van and began driving towards city hall ' they're not making it easy for us' tigress said from the backseat looking sat the ruuined buildings around them as they drove by.

The convoy proceeded through the ruined streets and stopped in front of the city hall - or what was left of it.

"Well since Captain Fairchild headed back for repairs, how do you propose we destroy this thing?" Deimos asked.

"Got any more satchel charges?" Strut asked.

Dr. Zanasiu opened an ammo crate in the back of the truck. It was empty. "Nope. I think he used the last ones on that shield generator."

The annealer and its cooling system was finished.

"Well, time to charge them," Mr. Bigmouth said, tightening a one way valve that was for charging the cooling system.

Two volunteers were busy setting up the heat exchanger. A fan blew cool air through a loop of copper pipe that protruded from the back of the annealer.

Haresh returned with two carbon dioxide fire extinguishers and hooked them up to the one way valve. He then sprayed the frigid gas into the cooling system while Mr. Bigmouth turned on the coolant pump (modified air compressor pump).

"All right, let's test it out," Mr. Bigmouth said.

Haresh opened the door and slid in his special paper. Mr. Bigmouth then flipped on the switch. A dull hum was heard from the energized crystals.

i think we'll have to head inside the building, or well whats left of it " tai said in reply " we'll need to have some from each of the groups go in.. say 5 from each so maybe 50 in all? just throwing it out there?
Why not let Stitch and angel have a go at it? Nani suggested, and the two aleins perked up..
