The rear cargo doors slid open as Major Lockie kept his weapons ready.

The Maverick missile fired by Captain Fairchild sped towards the dragon but it suddenly veered off into the night sky.

"Guys! They've got electronic countermeasures!" he shouted. A burst of superheated fire scraped along his flank, scorching his paint. He then let loose with his 30 mm gatling autocannon.

Major Lockie also joined in with his twin 20 mm cannons.

Red streaks of tracer fire stitched the night sky air as the two planes tried to shoot down the dragons.

The hail of shells eventually crippled one dragon, causing it to plummet to the ground below.

Jason changed his breath weapon to an emp burst that he aimed at the dragons. Thinking that may be useless, but wouldn't hurt to try once. He tried to keep an eye on the dragons to try to anticipate their next movement.

Sara dived at one of the dragons as she let loose with a burst of dragon fire as she got close enough to strike with her breath weapon.

The EMP burst scrambled the electronics of third dragon, causing to fly erratically and modern weapons systems to malfunction. Unfortunately, its magically powered breath weapon and its associated targeting mechanism was perfectly functional, allowing it to return Jason's fire.

Captain Fairchild tried to defend Jason by locking onto the erratically flying dragon with his Maverick missile; unfortunately, just as he got a lock and launched it, a stray high explosive rocket fired by the malfunctioning dragon struck him on the flank, blowing a sizable hole in it. Fuel and hydraulic fluid poured from the wound to make matters worse, the liquids caught fire.

"Holy s---! I'm on f---ing fire!" he shouted. He then accessed his databases for an intact airport he could land at.

Sara's breath of fire melted the armor off the final dragon, exposing its vulnerable magical power core.

Tarrax had destroyed the dragon that he had targeted, and flew over towards fairchild, starting as he saw the damage he had taken. "You'll need to land now and get that repaired' he said ' that hole is at least 15 feet wide...you could easily fit three humans inside it."
Agumon warpdigivolved to wargreymon and sent as blast towards the final dragon, hitting it above the care, and knocking off sdome of its remaining protection " aim for the glowing core! he said and soon the dragon was targeted from the combined force of the five Digimon, it was brutally effective and the dragon was quickly destroyed.

Seeing the new arrivals, the digimon, and Tarrax were taking care of the dragon Jason switched his breath weapon to cold, keeping it on low power to try to use some of it on the burning areas of Captain Fairchild to try to at least have the fire be partially slowed on its spread and the damage it was doing for as long as possible.

Sara joined him as she used a fire control spell to try to help also, though with Captain Fairchild traveling so fast and likely moving away to land at an airport their actions were likely less effective then they would be on the ground on a non moving area or burning target.

"Hopefully that'll help a little." Sara said.

"There's no airport nearby but I think I can handle flying with this damage until the mission's over," Captain Fairchild said.

Combined with his built in fire suppression system, Jason and Sara's efforts, the fire was quickly extinguished. His hydraulic fluid "blood" was still leaking out but it was starting to coagulate and form a seal.

very well, you certainly have courage Fairchild. However. you get hit again and you won't be flying again for months, unless you think you can fly using only one wing.. and having a huge hole in your flank..' Tarrax pointed out..Just be very careful.."

"Maybe best to be more in the back, and this less likely to take more damage." Jason said. "& using any sensors you may have also to alert the rest of us to things you may be able to detect the rest of us may not be able to." Jason said. "And being more careful then normal."

"It also depends on if you can heal naturally or you have to be repaired and if magic can help as well." Sara said.

A small plane came flying towards the great fortress. One of the few passengers on board, a human that simply went by the name of the Professor, was trying to radio in to the fort.

"Requesting permission to land." There was no response

"Hello? Anybody there?"

The plane wasn't greeted by a voice, but machine gun fire. The hundreds of streaming bullets ripped off one of the wings of that plane, and it came crashing down in an open area just outside the walls of the fort.

"I have limited self healing capabilities and I can be repaired just like a non-living plane. I will however, need to eat metal in order to self repair," Captain Fairchild replied.

"I believe we are approaching Neptune City," Major Lockie said.

(Surf Point)

At the sound of a plane crash, a group of armed soldiers and Humvees streamed out of the fortress and sped to the crash site.

One of the soldiers, a large Wolf, readied his rifle as the rest of his men extinguished the burning wreckage.

A Great Valley archer nocked an arrow into his bow.

The Professor didn't know if anybody else on the plane was alive. He saw armed soldiers outside training weapons on the aircraft, so he took off his white lab coat, tied it to a stick, and waved it in the air.

"I don't know why they shot us down." He thought to himself "I am on their side, but I'm not taking my chances. They look kind of trigger happy!"

Von had finished reading for the time being, and he decided to go outside the hotel to walk around for a bit. He heard machine gun fire, and looked to the horizon to see a smoking plane crash landing close to the fort's walls.

"What's going on?" He wondered. He ran up to the security guard at the fort's gate.

"What just happened?"

some plane tried to enter our airspace and we shot it down.. came the reply.. ' go out there and check it out.. move it.."

Von rushed out of the front gate, and ran to the plane wreckage, to see a small army waiting. The wreckage was still smoldering, when a white flag of sorts appeared.

The Professor called out. "In my day, it wasn't shoot first and ask questions later!"

A soldier walked up to the Professor, and lead him to the fort. Von helped the other soldiers search through the plane wreckage, but there were no other survivors. He helped carry 3 bodies back to the fort.

Briggins scowled as the soldiers brought in the professor. ' more guests huh.. please sign in.." he said to the Professor. "Sorry about knocking the plane down but we are nor permitted to let unidentified planes into the vicinity.Enjoy your stay

The Professor signed in. "I guess it was my fault for trying to come on a civilian plane. I tried to get a write on a military aircraft, but they wouldn't let me. I had to find some other way to get here."

Von walked up to the Professor, and asked "Who are you?"

"Me? Oh, I'm just the Professor. I've come to try and help you develop new and better weapons and defenses."

they do have the Rings 'Tarrax replied. " whats goals they had, the only ones who know for sure are them..
Spyro and Cynder were growing tired from the fighting. Both had used thier furies, both natural and ring-powered. yuet the attacks kept coming..
