(OOC: Lain's tank is a mile behind the Dragonstorm Lab truck (due to the truck being much faster then a heavy tank) and he has stopped pursuing. The Lab has escaped... so theres no way they can still be firing missiles and autocannons at each other still (sorry if I didn't make this clear enough))

"I repeat, lay down your weapons and come quietly. We have you outnumbered and outgunned!" Rivende blared through the outside horn.

Dervus backed up his tank, driving over the crushed husk of the SUV again.

Marner was following orders and had ceased fire, but was already considering blowing the two bogeys in the ditch to dust for taking out the tank on his flank.

"This is your last warning!"

"I don't thing their coming quietly sir... that one down there just flipped me the bird." called up the driver of Rivende's tank.

Ironically the guy who flipped him the bird had the head of a pigeon.

(OOC - There is a discussion about what will initiate the firefight. I am leaning towards using both ideas mentioned but I need to know if everyone is okay with that plan. I am indeed going through with the firefight.)

"Please listen to him. " Alfred said. "Dr. Zanasiu and Dr. Bailey are innocent of any wrongdoing. In fact, this entire group here has been attempting to stop Dragonstorm, a series of illegal and unethical experiments."

"How do we know that you didn't pull this out of your ass just to escape?" a trooper demanded.

"We are not making this up. Please understand, we came back here to disarm a bomb that we have discovered." Hans said

"A bomb you say?"

The squad leader radioed for reinforcements.

Hicks, who had broken out of the closet he was locked in, watched the scene in the control room from a distance. He grinned and ducked into a bathroom to radio Dr. Branston.

"Dr. Branston, this is Hicks, US special forces are here. Over"

"Hicks, go to bathroom and wash your hands. Out"

Hicks put the radio away went to the handicapped stall, stood on the toilet and pushed a ceiling tile where he retrieved a small metal capsule.

He opened the capsule and read the piece of paper in it.

Operation Pyrite

He replaced the card and the capsule and left the bathroom and made his way to the control room.

He then approached the troopers, who aimed their weapons at him.

"Gentleman," Hicks said, "I am not armed nor do I have a quarrel with you. Have these 'guests' mentioned something about a bomb?"

"They have." the squad leader replied.

"Well, they were the ones to plant the bomb, which is a pure fusion bomb. They smuggled it into Pelvanida during construction and they activated it. Luckily, Dr. Jurgen Gruen, PFC Jason Dover and myself were able to disarm it. Sadly, Dr. Gruen and PFC Dover were killed by their guards." Hicks said.

"Hmm. Why should we trust you?" the squad leader asked, glaring at Hicks.

Suddenly, the squad leader's radio went off.

"H...hello? Who's there." the voice on the radio said.

"This is Sgt. Gary Noleson. Identify yourself!" Sgt. Noleson said into the radio.

"This is Dr. Christopher O'Donnell. I am calling from Carson City Camp and General Moby has authorized use of this channel. I am alerting you to the fact that a Dr. James Zanasiu has seized control of the base with a group of his fellow scientists. They have killed all the guards and they have taken the whole facility. I am one of the lucky ones to escape. O'Donnell out."

At this point, another squad walked into the control room.

"Orders?" the Human trooper asked.

"Take 'em down." Sgt. Noleson said, raising his rifle and firing a warning shot at Dr. Landon's feet. "Come quietly or we will use lethal force."

Zachary looked at the scene in horror. "[censored]! They're actually buying that crap?" he whispered.

"i thought special forces were smarter than that.. apparently i was mistaken.. As for You" She Turned toward Hicks and fired one shot, it struck Hicks just below the left knee with devastating impact. "thats for being a llying, backstabbing weasel!" Before she could fire again, Dr Landon Dragged her behind cover.

The special forces troopers stood shocked for a moment and immediately opened fire on the group. Bullets pinged around Alfred, Aisha and Dr. Landon.

Alfred was grazed by a bullet as he dove for cover.

"Hey what about me and Dr. Bailey?" Dr. Zanasiu asked.

"You're coming with us!" a canine trooper said, shooting at Hans, who was behind cover.

Dr. Bailey glared at Sgt. Noleson. "You are [censored] idiots! Cease firing as that was a completely false transmission!"

Sgt. Noleson looked at Dr. Bailey. "Explain why the frequency is from Carson City Camp?"

"What? But they would never...Maybe someone faked it."

"That is an encrypted military frequency, faking it is very difficult."

"Carson City Camp? They sent us here!" Dr. Zanasiu shouted.

"[censored]! They're shooting now!" Zachary whispered.

He grabbed his rifle and took cover in a lab with Dr. Greene and Nixon.

"Are those special forces troopers?" Nixon asked.

Dr. Greene nodded. "Unfortunately, thanks to either a terrible mix up or faked radio transmission, they see Dr. Zanasiu and his group as hostiles. And from what I saw negotiations went to hell so we are left with no choice but..."

Nixon gulped. "Are you saying we must kill them?"

Dr. Greene nodded.

PFC Reynolds was hiding in the closet of one of the labs.

Alfred quickly darted to a nearby lab as bullets began chipping away at the rubble he was using for cover.

Hans darted from one lab to another in an attempt to avoid getting shot.

Zachary dove into a nearby lab, then routed around to another one and fired, striking one of the troopers square in the head. He slid Alfred and Hans's weapons to them.

Dr. Greene and Nixon were moving around constantly, appearing from one lab to fire a shot, then moving to another lab.

"Shut up!" the squad leader shouted.

"[censored] you!" Alfred spat, firing a single shot that killed a trooper then darting to another lab.

"Sgt. Noleson, no one is going to believe that Pelvanida went rogue. Instead, they'll think an entire armored division and several squads of special forces troopers went completely berserk and trashed Pelvanida." Dr. Zanasiu said.

"That's what you think! Dr. Johnson Zenarchis has prepared a press release to deal with that." Sgt. Noleson said.

"Dr. Who?" Dr. Bailey asked.

"Dr. Zenarchis was one of the ringleaders of Dragonstorm. He was murdered several months ago. He couldn't have prepared a press release."

(OOC - Yes, the special forces are Dragonstorm personnel. They tricked an entire base into joining them. This will be factored into the sequel.)

"You must have killed him!" Sgt. Noleson said. He fired at Hans, who had killed another trooper.

Alfred reloaded, darted to another lab via the shared storerooms and shot another trooper. He then darted to another lab to fire off a shot, this one missed.

Zachary slid Dr. Landon and Aisha their weapons as he popped out of a lab to shoot a trooper trying to throw a grenade in one of the labs. He the darted to another lab, again via the shared storerooms.

Alfred, Werner, Hans, Zachary Dr. Greene and Nixon killed the rest of the troopers after many minutes of firing and darting from lab to lab.

Sgt. Noleson tried to radio for reinforcements but Alfred walked up to him with his shotgun pointed directly at his head. Even though Sgt. Noleson was large by Human standards, Alfred towered over him.

Alfred then plucked the radio from his hands and hurled it at the wall. "Sgt. Noleson, may I ask why you are working with Dragonstorm?" he asked in calm but deadly voice.

Zachary fetched a pair of bolt cutters and used them to free Dr. Zanasiu and Dr. Bailey.

"This is [censored] crazy! Dragonstorm bribed an entire [censored] base?!" Dr. Bailey yelled.

Dr. Zanasiu nodded. "Hey, look at what happened here. They seized control of Pelvanida. If they can do that, what's to prevent them from seizing other bases?"

Dr. Greene decided to check on Hicks. "Guys, Hicks is dead."

"We'll need to head to Carson City Camp to stop this madness. General Moby needs to know that someone in Dragonstorm is hijacking the Carson City Camp radio." Zachary said.

"Was it the pay? " Aisha hissed. 'Because last I checked, what you did was treason. You'll be headed for a firing squad after the court martial. the army doesn't like traitors.' She aimed her gun at Sgt. Noleson's head..

Reynolds stepped forward and stared Noleson straight in the eyes. "Of all the people in this room, you and I are the most alike. When I look at you, I see what I could have become if I had stayed in the corps long enough to become a seargent. As the only two surviving Dragonstorm captees, I'll be standing next to you in court, but I'll never stand with you."

(OOC - LB&T, I assume that you will be participating in the 3rd installment along with the planning for it?)

"You are making a mistake. Dragonstorm is the next military breakthrough. No longer would we have to rely on volunteers or on a draft. We can cut training costs. We no longer have to worry about veterans returning home from wars with PTSD, lost limbs and other illnesses and injuries."

Alfred, scowling, picked up Sgt. Noleson with one hand and lifted him off his feet. "You sack of [censored]! You want to replace our brave men and women in uniform with these...monstrosities!" he hissed.

He then dropped him back to the ground.

Sgt. Noleson then turned to Dr. Zanasiu. "Do you really think you can get past the tanks that are present?"

Dr. Zanasiu nodded. "I do." He then turned to the group. "I'm going to try running the gauntlet and getting to Carson City Camp to stop this madness. As for the rest of you, head to the AWTR and the garages in the back. You will need the weapons there to stand a chance."

Alfred then tied Sgt. Noleson up with some loose wires and gagged him with a piece of his own uniform. He then placed him in closet, which he then barricaded with a mass of rubble.

Dr. Zanasiu picked up a some car keys off a dead technician. "Wish me luck." he said, walking towards the parking lot.
