Far away and to the left, Pelvanida Base finally came into view for the two occupants of a military-grade helicopter.
"The base is in sight, Dr. Shelton," reported the pilot to the man next to him.
No answer. The pilot looked over. "Dr. Shelton?"
Shelton was snoring loudly in his seat, head tilted awkwardly to his side. The pilot shook him. "Dr. Shelton. You need to wake up, sir."
"Mmmrhuh?" Shelton blinked, and stretched. " 'Sup?"
"Pelvanida Base is in sight. You need to get ready for your aerial dropoff." The pilot focused on flying. "And you probably could use some caffeine too."
Shelton yawned. "Well, excuse me, after a 13 hour flight with no in-flight movie or salted peanuts? How much were they paying me again to do this?"
"Uh, nothing."
"Just checking. See if it changed since I last asked." Shelton peered down at the base. "Holy crap, how close are we?"
"Just getting in position for the aerial dropoff," the pilot steadied the copter.
"Um, I think we're way too close! You need to pull up!"
"Hey, I'm the pilot here!"
"And I used to work there! And they can totally hit us from this distance!"
