Dr. Zanasiu stepped forward. He lowered his shotgun as he did so. "We are actually the reason the base is in lockdown. We were contracted by Carson City Camp to find and destroy a series of illegal experiments. You are welcome to join us."

Dr. Kerzach still had his knife at the ready. He then turned to Shelton. "I'm not sure if I can trust these two." he whispered.

(OOC: There are three... two guards and an as yet unnamed VIP. Fred Clyco is just one of the guards)

"We are here at the beheadest of our government to deliver an important package - not to clean up your people's messes," Insisted the VIP, who brushed off his fancy suit.

"If the experiments in this base, what ever they may be, are running lose in the halls then I question if our charge is safe in your hands. Clyco, Cardon they aren't a threat let us move on."

"Yessir," responded Clyco, and he holstered his sidearm along with the other bodyguard. He bid the scientists a small salute as the escort team continued into the depths of the base.

Alfred frowned. "So they are working with Dragonstorm?"

"We don't know yet." Dr. Zanasiu said. He then turned to the escort team. "Wait, the guards may think you are with us and they may decide to capture or kill you!" he called after them.

"Forget about them. We'd better head back to the control room." Zachary said.

Aisha frowned at the smugness of the VIp. " That arrogance will get those three killed.. oh well, best be on our way.. where to next guys?' She asked.

"I'd suggest we head to the control room and appraise Dr. Bailey of our efforts." Dr. Zanasiu said.

"We'd better get moving. Wayne, coming with us?" Zachary asked.

Where is the Control room?' Aisha asked. trying to stifle a yawn... :and where are we ging to get some sleep?'

"We can sleep in the control room." Dr. Zanasiu said.

"The control room is on the first floor." Zachary then looked at a wall map. "And we're on basement floor 3."

"I guess it's through the maintainence hallways."

"Well, let's get moving before those soldiers find us."

The group then headed down one a nearby maintainence hallway that was empty and they rode a freight elevator to the first floor where they made their way back to the control room.

"So how have things been?" Werner asked. Hans was taking a nap in a chair.

"Pretty exciting. We got chased by guards, the usual." Dr. Kerzach replied.

Zachary yawned. "I'm getting sleepy."

Dr. Zanasiu did the same. "I think my parasympathetic nervous system is in control now."

Dr. Bailey activated the auto turrets. "You can now take a nap if you need."

"Finally, I get to meet the esteemed Dr. Bailey," Shelton smiled broadly and shook his hand. "Rudy Shelton, former control room admin. I admit I'm surprised they picked you to replace me. Dr. Kyle had been my back-up while I was still employed."

"They trust him almost as little as they now trust you," added in Wayne.

Shelton nodded. "Ah." He lowered his voice for Bailey, "Hey, do you use the secret compartment behind the printer?"

Zachary and Dr. Zanasiu were sleeping in two nearby chairs.

"Pleasure to meet you." Dr. Bailey replied. He then lowered his voice. "Dr. Branston replaced you and I replaced Dr. Kyle. I tried to expose Dragonstorm and Dr. Branston locked me in a closet. Also, what's with the printer compartment?"

Alfred was standing guard.

Storage perhaps? Aisha said settling into a corner.. DR Landon moved next to the printer.. " We've made some progress, but we still have nio idea how many experiments there are, or what Dragonstorm is trying to create next.."

"The only way we can do that is to decode the data in these memory sticks or steal some more data or force a Dragonstorm scientist to divulge their secrets. Neither of those options is easy but decoding is the safest and kidnapping is the most dangerous. I mean, none of us are really soldiers." Dr. Kerzach said.

"True." Dr. Bailey commented. "But we don't need to be soldiers to defend or steal data."

Shelton pushed the printer aside to show a hole carved out of the wall. Some stale snacks stood behind it. "I don't how you've lived this long without a place to hide food. Hope you aren't one of those sticklers for rules." Shelton tried a crisp and quickly spat it out.

"And I always vote whichever option keeps me furthest from harm's way. Some of those Dragonstorm scientists can really hold their own, such as the brown bear types," he grimaced.

"I did not know that even existed." Dr. Bailey said. "Perhaps we can hide notes in there?"

"Good idea." Dr. Kerzach said.

"Well, none of us are cryptologists so stealing data is the best bet." Werner said.

"We'll need to take a few people who are armed to fend off unwanted attention." Hans said.

"I am happy to come along." Alfred said.

Hans nodded. "Okay, Alfred, you me and Werner will come along. We'll also need a scientist. Dr. Kerzach, Shelton?"

Dr. Branston noticed Sgt. Clyco and the two men heading deeper into the sublevels. He radioed the tower guards. "You said a certain person was supposed to be guarded right?"

"Affirmative." the voice replied.

"He is wandering around the base with his two guards and he seems to be heading to the sublevels."

"We can't let him get killed or captured by those terrorists!"

Dr. Branston saluted the console and radioed Gamma Squad. "Gamma Leader, our visitors have gotten lost. Please find them and escort them to the the safe room."

He then switched frequencies. "Gamma Squad is on the way."

He then turned to Ariol. "Were we expecting these visitors?"

Meanwhile, Delta squad, Metal Storm and Gamma Squad swept the cafeteria, finding no signs of anyone.

Suddenly Metal Storm got a transmission. He nodded and turned to everyone else. "We're heading to the fusion reactor. Security has been compromised."

Gamma leader suddenly received a transmission. "I'm en route." He then turned to Metal Storm. "Sorry I can't follow you but I've got to ensure some visitors are safe." He then rallied his squad and took them out of the cafeteria.

Metal Storm nodded and hefted his Minigun. "No matter, still got lots of firepower right here."

The soldiers began heading to the fusion reactor via the maintainence hallways.

"I'll take command of this small group for a moment. Aisha, Bailey, Landon, we're going to steal some data. We'll be back soon." Dr. Kerzach said.

"You're coming?" Alfred asked.

Dr. Kerzach grinned. "Yep, it's a perfect ratio. Two computer hackers, three fighters."

Hans and Werner picked up their stolen rifles and stood by Shelton and Dr. Kerzach.

"Ready to roll?" Dr. Kerzach asked.

Dr. Bailey saluted them.

Shelton smiled and saluted Bailey back. "Nice meeting you. Take good care of the control room, and she won't let you down."

Dr. Kerzach stuck his memory stick into the compartment behind the printer. "Can't risk having that found."

He then grabbed portable radios from a nearby rack and handed them to Shelton, Werner, Hans, Alfred and kept one for himself.

"Okay let's head out." Dr. Kerzach said.

"Good luck." Dr. Bailey said.

Dr. Kerzach then exited the control room with his group. The .50 caliber machine gun turrets slowly swiveled as they looked for threats.

Corporal Stern parachuted from the transport plane out into the dirt just outside the compound. In the distance he saw several figures, but could not make out what they were at this range. Loading his sidearm, he proceeded into the fray.

"Sir, we've got a paratrooper in here!" one of the tower guards radioed Dr. Branston.

"Alert him that there's been a terrorist assault. But be careful, he might be one of those terrorists." Dr. Branston replied via radio.

The tower guard nodded and gestured for two of his men to intercept the figure.

The two guards headed across the desert to confront the new arrival.

"Not if they're wearing gas masks or stole the airpacks from the emergency cabinets." Dr. Kerzach replied.

"Hey, here's a lab we can check out. Of course, once we take what we need, we'll need to destroy the lab." Alfred said. He was pointing to a lab with the name Dr. Theodore Rawlson on the plate.

Alfred carefully pushed the door open. He and Werner swept around the room and gestured everyone to come in when he saw no threats.

"I'll stand guard." Hans said.
