Zachary dragged a battered metal first aid kit out from under the rubble and handed it to Aisha.
Hans and Werner grabbed Reynolds and escorted him to a corner where they kept their weapons trained on him.
"I can't guarantee anything, but if you cooperate, I will try to lessen your sentence." Hans said. "First off, how many people you know are working with Dragonstorm?"
-----------------------------------
Two of the "guards" in the towers spotted the convoy through their night vision goggles. "Operation Exodus must be online!"
One of the guards pulled out a radio. "Bradley, Operation Exodus is..." Suddenly, a powerful blow knocked the radio from his hands.
He reached for his sidearm but two bullets to the head killed him.
His companion, a tough looking Female Hyena, drew her sidearm and shot one of the assailants before she too was gunned down.
The surviving assailant radioed the Lab 101 control room. "Control 2, this is Sgt. Barnes, my partner and I have caught two impostors and we have dealt with them. Unfortunately, my partner was killed. Sgt. Barnes out."
-----------------------------------
The Ostrich pulled out his radio as it beeped. All he heard was "Bradley, Operation Exodus is..." then several gunshots. He then turned to the soldiers. "The Pelvanida Guards have killed two ADSA operatives. And I think Operation Exodus is starting."
"Operation Exodus is the evacuation, by truck, of key Dragonstorm personnel and experiments. It's hinted that an entire lab is to be lifted from Pelvanida and placed on a truck but we're not exactly sure." the Lemur replied. "And judging from that we'll need all the help we can get to stop it."
-----------------------------------
In another tower four other guards spotted the convoy. They radioed Dr. Branston.
"Dr. Branston, this is Tower Four. Convoy is in sight. Tower Four out." the guard radioed.
-----------------------------------
Dr. Branston nodded. He pressed a button on the console that disconnected the lab from the rest of the base. The rumble of machinery and the low thuds of locks disengaging echoed through the lab.
"Ariol, this is Branston, Lab 101 has been disengaged and ready for lifting. At your command, I will disconnect the power link and allow your men to load the lab onto the truck and hook up the trailer generator to the lab. Branston out." Dr. Branston radioed. He then grabbed the intercom.
"This is Dr. Branston, all locks have been disengaged and the convoy is in sight. When Ariol gives the word, the lab will be lifted by crane onto the truck. You will feel the lab being lifted but stay calm."
"Good work." the technician replied to Sgt. Barnes's transmission.
----------------------------------
Dr. Zanasiu and Alfred entered the control room.
"What took so long?" Zachary asked.
"We had to shoot it out with some of Dragonstorm's troops. We were trying to hold them off so Aisha and Dr. Landon could get to the control room. Luckily Corporal Stern, was there to assist us. We owe him our lives." Dr. Zanasiu replied.
Alfred nodded. "Had it not been for him we would have died when our supply of shotshells vanished. But because of him, we're alive."
"But we still have no ammo." Dr. Zanasiu replied.
(OOC - I had Dr. Zanasiu and Alfred kill the assassins sent after them in the cafeteria. This was a way to justify how Dr. Landon and Aisha got to the control room.)
(OOC - Can I assume Corporal Stern helped Dr. Zanasiu and Alfred kill the assassins?)
