Luckily, most of the other scientists were asleep and none of them noticed Shelton's comment about pretending to be a Stork.

Dr. Kerzach was jolted awake by a bump. "Ugh! Damn it! These roads are terrible!"

He then turned to the scientist to his left. "So where are we heading exactly?"

Another bump jolted the lab.

"Dunno. But I've heard that we'll be heading through downtown Vegas. We can't really route a way around Vegas, ya know." the scientist replied.

"Hmm. Maybe I can get off and gamble there." Dr. Kerzach replied.

The man shook his head. "We're not getting off this lab. If you need to use the bathroom, there's two at the end of the lab."

Dr. Kerzach got up from the seat and went to the bathroom. He locked the door and proceeded to use the facilities. When he was done, examined the walls. He noticed that they were relatively thin steel and that he could penetrate them with his knife, if he still had it.

He left the bathroom and sat back down. The scientist who he had spoke with previously was now asleep.

Dr. Kerzach then turned to Shelton. "Shelton, the walls in the bathroom are real thin. If we can find something to penetrate the walls, we may be able to cripple the lab by either cutting or tearing out the wiring." he whispered.

(OOC - They won't actually do that. Have Shelton justify a reason for it.)

"I'm not sure if that's a good idea. For one, if we're going fast enough for the bumps to knock me over, I think it's too fast to bail out of a moving convoy," Shelton cautioned.

Before Feral and Aiko departed, the Panther passed his rifle to Dr Joe, who looked back at him with a confused look, but then slung it over her shoulder and followed Vic and the others to the exterior of the base...

As the Dragonstorm experiments and mercenaries make their own way out, Ariol's cell phone goes off. A quick look at caller ID informs him of who it is. "Come in, Fly Swatter," he answered.

"We are less than half-an-hour from the base," replied the caller. "We'll be there to pick you up. Also, there's a group of choppers coming from another direction, and not to forget some vehicles trailing behind Exodus. You want us to shoot them from existence before then?"

"Do it. I want as little rebel survivors as possible. We'll be on top when you get back."

"Fly Swatter out..."

Fly Swatter happens to be four fully-armed Cayuse helicopters in formation from the south. Two soon peeled off to give chase behind Exodus, while the other moved to intercept the other chopper squad...

Feral's pick-up, a team of four Black Hawks, including the lead from the insertion attack, quickly make speed to their rendezvous point.

"Echo 2. Unidentified aircraft on radar. Two count fast-moving copters. Closing distance on our position."

"Echo 1. No other support in extraction. Bogeys may be hostile. Echo 2 and 4, move to intercept and confirm."

"Echo 2. Roger that."

Two Black Hawks broke away from the group...

Dr. Bjurling and Dr. Falco followed Vic and his team.

"Ah [censored]!" Dr. Ostermann shouted as he spotted the search light of the 2 helos in the distance. Dr. Volkowitz then mashed the accelerator and drove up to Dr. Zanasiu's Humvee and gestured for him to roll down the window.

"2 choppers are chasing us!" Dr. Ostermann shouted. Dr. Volkowitz slowed down until he was in the middle of the pack.

Dr. Zanasiu then radioed PFC Reynolds and Sgt. Stern. "Stern, Reynolds! Two choppers are trailing us in the distance. If they approach, shoot them!" He then shouted behind him. "You too Hans!"

(OOC - Can I assume Clyco took a turret on one of the Humvees?)

"If they lasted this long, they must be as good as soldiers. Fire rockets to get them off course!"

The Cayuse choppers sped up on the vehicles and launched a volley of small rockets at them...

The team broke through the roof of one of the buildings, scanning the area for danger...

Feral and Aiko had reached the computer and began to hack into the Dragonstorm database. It was soon that they came across some encrypted information set up by someone very high up in the pecking order.

"Can you crack it?"

"In about three minutes..."

"Evade!" Dr. Zanasiu shouted as the rockets exploded around them.

The vehicles wildly swerved around the explosions.

Hans tried his best to lock onto one of the Cayuse helos. Eventually he managed to get a lock and he let the system automatically fire the powerful laser cannon.

Dr. Ostermann, Dr. Greene and Nixon opened fire on the helos with their firearms.

Alfred, tried his best to weave the large truck around the explosion.

Aisha clung to the front of the truck as they evaded the helicopter missles..'don't stop..' she fairly yelled..

"Take my shotgun!" Alfred shouted, as he weaved around the exploding rockets. He then noticed a sign that read "Las Vegas: 300 miles."

"They wouldn't." Alfred muttered. "Dragonstorm's heading through Vegas!" he shouted.

Dr. Greene was hit in the leg with shrapnel but he and Nixon continued shooting.

Ridley flew at the helicopters, flared his wings and beeped aggressively

Oh God.. They're using the residents of Vegas as human shields!' Aisha exclaimed. "We have to catch up to them, and shoot out the tires of the vehicle..."she said desperation seeping in.. she grabbed the shot , Stuck it out the window, and began firing at the copter..

"At this time." Alfred looked at the truck's clock. It read 12:05 AM. "Oh, [censored]! There's lots of people on the street at this time!" He then pushed the accelerator as far as possible. The truck's speedometer topped out at 100 miles per hour. The roar of the diesel engine was deafening. He soon zoomed past the Humvees and the Stryker.

Luckily, the truck had a radio system installed, which Alfred took advantage of. "James, this is Alfred, they're heading through Vegas. We must stop them before they get to Vegas. If we don't we could have a lot of dead civilians."

The Humvees and Stryker vehicles did the same. Unfortunately, the armored vehicles were nowhere as fast as the unarmored truck. But they still topped out at their maximum speed.

While Dr. Volkowitz and Dr. Ostermann were shooting at one of the helos, the other managed to directly strike the sedan with a rocket, destroying it in a ball of fire.

Dr. Branston activated the exterior cameras on the base and grinned as he saw a fireball erupt in the distance. "That's one pursuer down."

The rifle blast homed in on one of the small choppers, incinerating it in a huge fireball. The remaining chopper swerved to escape the debris, but continued the chase. It next fires its high-caliber machine guns at the trailing car, often pelting into the vehicle. It too decides to lock-on a missile at it...

Ariol and the others reached the hangar themselves, and they later uncover a small helicopter underneath a tarp. One of the hitmen gets in to start the motor...

The two groups of combat helicopters quickly closed the distance and flew past each other. Both sides knew the other is hostile, and they began their dance of war in the twilight sky...

"Boss, I think I got something..." Aiko's eyes widened

"What is it?"

"It looks like a procedure for self-destruction if the project is breached... Why does it talk about a bomb?"

Hans waited for the beep that signaled that the laser was ready to fire again. He saw the trail of fire that signaled a missile launch. "James! I think we've got a launch!"

Almost immediately, the laser automatically locked onto the missile and destroyed it, pelting the vehicles with a hail of flaming debris.

"What the hell!?" Hans shouted. "I didn't order it to do that!"

"Be glad." James replied. "It saved our asses."

The Stryker's armor was, fortunately, tough enough to withstand the deadly .50 caliber rounds.

Dr. Greene fired a grenade at the remaining helo but the grenade did not clear the distance and harmlessly exploded on the ground below the helo.

"Forget about that! Use it on the ground escorts! And we're in the front of the group, you nearly blew up one of our allies!" Nixon said, reloading his shotgun.

Dr. Greene loaded another grenade into the launcher but he fired a burst of .223 rounds at the helo.

"Aisha! We're getting close!" Alfred shouted. He could make out the outlines of the escort vehicles in the distance.

Several rounds hit the armor near Corporal Stern. "Damn... this is not good. Those rounds are getting close to me... how long can the armor hold out?" thought the soldier.

"Are we near to our destination?" Stern said, rightly anxious to get out of his current position.

"What the hell is going on?" asked Shelton. "Why is there shooting?"

"Our enemy has followed us from Pelvanida and is in pursuit. Don't worry; our air escorts and convoy are more than enough to destroy them. Already one enemy truck has been incinerated!"

Shelton blanched. "Someone's been killed!" he gasped to Kerzach, then lowered his voice to a whisper. "James and the others are in serious danger. Is there anything we can do?"

He then turned to the nearest scientist. "Excuse me but is this lab armed? I'm concerned that they may break through our defenses."

The scientist grinned. "It is indeed. Two 20 mm autocannons have been installed. They are underneath hidden panels in the side of the lab and will deploy at Dr. Branston's orders."

Dr. Kerzach then turned to Shelton. "We'll need to find those autocannons and disable them. We can't cripple the power supply because there's a good chance we'll get electrocuted and we'll be discovered and killed."

Dr. Kerzach got up and headed to the bathroom, which were at the back of the lab, the farthest from the truck's cab. He gestured for Shelton to follow.

Aisha continued firing at the Pursuing hElicopter, one hitting the windshield and cracking it.. but the windshield was thick enough that that bullet did not go through..

Dr. Greene stitched the windshield of the attacking helicopter but all he did was crack parts of the windshield

"Damn it! This must be armored glass!" Dr. Greene shouted.

Nixon shot at helicopter but the armored glass was able to withstand the shotgun blast.

"If only I had slugs. I may be able to smash through the windshield." Nixon said.

Ridley beeped angrily and some lights on his body flashed red. He then began trying to tear through the helicopter's windshield with his beak.
