The party continued on, and eventually came to a great hall with a magical orb. When the party tried to take the orb, it released magical energy which made everyone feel hot and tired. The skeletons littering the ground surrounding the orb led them to believe that this was a kind of trap.

It was too late. Rhiga had touched the orb, and the effects of the field hit the party.

Jake and Sasha were starting to really feel the heat now

Selturma got close to Rex. "Rex, if we don't make it, I... just want to say that-"

But she fainted before she could finish her sentence, just as Adykon burst in with his sword, and shattered the orb in one blow. The temperature returned to normal and the exhaustion effect wore off.

"Thank the gods Kravik detected a bust of magic from in here!" Adykon said. "Are you alright?"

Selturma was still close to Rex; she had fallen on him when she was hot and exhausted... and knew that the thing she had felt wasn't his tail.

"Awkward?" Selturma said with a smile. "Don't you like what you see?" she said, rubbing her hands over her round tiotleglas on her chest. "As it is, it is more comfortable for me to go like this. I didn't realize how uncomfortable that top was until it was all hot. I'll just use my loincloth. I'll keep the top for when we travel in a city, but for nothing else."

The party got its stuff together. They found no other artifacts of significance in this temple, certainly not the statue they were looking for.

"We don't know exactly where the statue was supposed to be, Jake." Adykon said.

The party moved out of the temple, and rested for a while in the ruins of another building.

"Rex?" Selturma said. "Could you come over here? I think we can help each other. I have splinters in my feet, and you have some 'wood'... and to tell you the truth, I have some 'water' as well" she said, gesturing at her loincloth.
