Marcus spoke uP as the group moved onward. "We are going to get Rhiga back... I need to have her with me agaiin. " The months that had been spent going after her had taken thier toll on him, he was much introspective and quiet noww, rarely saying much.. Back at Asthia's tower...

The vampiress held her "discipline tools" in her hands... threatening to use them on Adykon... this was a bad situation, alright.

"How dare you? I show you my love, and you try to kill me?! I should leave you here to rot! Give me one good reason, one good excuse as to why I should not just leave you here to die!" she shouted.

"I... have to stop the dark master" Adykon said. "You took me from my mission... I need to get back to it..."

sasha looked over at jake as the party moved. 'they hadn't talked much since the party had started moving.. sasha had started to think about jake more often, she was attracted to him, but yet had never truly expressed how she had felt..

Asthia looked at Adykon... she spoke; "I am under orders by the Dark Master to kill you... but I believe that can wait for now... I need the help of someone strong and capable... I need help completing several dangerous rituals in order to awaken the Horror underneath my tower... so instead of killing you, I will geas you... cast a spell on you which will force you to obey me in several specific orders..."

And with that, she cast a spell on him... firing a blue beam of light into his head, the beam emanating from her hand... within a minute, it was done, and Adykon was teleported into another room... where his clothes, armor, and sword were! Hastily donning his vestments, Adykon felt a presence in his head... Asthia. She was still in there, and would continue to be there until the Geas was broken, the tasks were completed or either he or she were dead.

minna and ilsa continued walking in silenvce, it would be several hours before they reached the tower.. ilsa lkooked straight forward, it was nly now that minna had fully recovered from the effects of the nectar..

The attack would take at least another 8 hours to arrive at the tower... even longer if they found it took a while to get into position...

Vespion knew the odds of a successful attack were low... but he had to get Adykon and Rhiga out of there...

And this was true... the tower was defended by over a thousand heavily armed guards... equipped with steel blades and plate armor. In addition, there were many magical beasts in the tower, as well as over 3000 kobolds who lived in and amount it in villages, supply the massive complex with a labor force.

And none of these defenses included Asthia and Arcantas.

Arianne and Eriol were following the group, she was looking at everywhere, visible worried - "I have this feeling when things are not going to end-up well."

Her husband looked at her, and replied with a calm voice. - "I am familiarized with the sensation you have: the mix of anxiety and fear before some big event, in this case, a loosing battle. But don't worry dear, loosing battles are turning to be one of this party's specialities." - Eriol kept on smiling, but that smile changed from a calm one into a sly one.

The army and the party approached the tower at last... it was... massive... over a thousand meters tall... it was obviously built by magic, in part, and probably by many mages at that... guarded by thousands, the force approaching it numbered barely over 1000, plus the party...

This was going to be a hard fight indeed.

The guards didn't notice the army yet... if they got any closer, they would.

"We cannot hope to breach that tower with this army... this is madness!" Vespion said.

"We're attacking... I'm getting my daughter OUT of there!" The chief said.

"We are mostly armed with sticks and stones, fighting against an army with steel weapons. Also, the warriors we have are wearing no armor... just loincloths!" Vespion responded. "That's like an UNDERGARMENT where I come from!"

"So... an outnumbered group of warriors armed with stone weapons is about to attack a tower that has more troops protecting it than many towns do, dressed only in their underpants?!" Vaeri said, surprised. "Why did you let us go along with this, Vespion?!"

"I thought the tower would be one-tenth this size, and only have a few dozen guards... maybe 150 at most..." Vespion said...

Suddenly, a sentry saw the approaching force, and sounded an alarm!

"Too late! We have been seen! Charge!" a warrior yelled. The rest of the force followed behind him...

Vespion quickly addressed the party.

"Listen! We still have to rescue Adykon and Rhiga. The army will distract Asthia's forces, no doubt, so we can sneak in while they are occupied defending the tower!"

This was easier said than done...

Asthia heard the alarm. "Who dares?! Who could be attacking my tower?!" She teleported to a balcony, hundreds of feet above the ground... and saw... "A pathetic rabble... outnumbered, outclassed... and outmaneuvered."

She cast a spell which teleported in some more of her troops behind the attacking army. Each of them was a Dracon soldier, and each one wore a suit of steel armor with a piece of glass attached to it; this glass piece was enchanted so that Asthia could move the wearer across a moderate distance along the ground... perfect for catching enemies off-guard.

The party ran to the side of the tower, the army ran right in front of it, hoping to get inside... only to find themselves caught in a classic pincers movement! One group of soldiers closed in from the front, another body of troops closed in from the rear...

The shamans in the army cast spells at their adversaries, but these were blocked, nullified, or, at the very least avenged by the more numerous, far better trained mages and clerics accompanying Asthia's army...

Meanwhile...

The din of battle could be heard even beneath the tower. Screams of war and of agony, the sound of combat, and the din of violence all combined to produce a cacaphony which alerted Rhiga.

A Few Straglers followed Ilsa and minna and they busted open a small side gate which lead inside.. ilsa lit her staff revealing a dark smelly and damp, hallway in front of them. outside the tribes forces were getting manhandled by the larger and better trained oposing army. minna 's heart when out to these poor souls.. but now was not the time for sentiment.. they had to get rhiga..
