Having heard the noise, Eternion and the others gathered around the pile of refuse.

'Is that the child?' He asked Rex. Looking up, he could see the wall of the city towering over them. 'That's quite the jump he tried to make. Certainly made quite a bit of noise just then, though.'

He looked around nervously. 'I really hope we were the only ones who heard that.'

Unfortunately, they were not the only ones who heard that. The city guards had ears too. A half dozen of them were coming to investigate the noise. Seeing them, Rhiga jumped inside an abandoned building, kept clear of the windows, and hoped she remained unseen.

"I wouldn't count on that." - Eriol told Eternion as he also saw some Guards coming in their direction. - "We should try to get those Guards away from Rhiga, but we cannot leave Jake... darn, I hate this kind of situations." - the Panther muttered those last words.

Arianne was also close to little Kos. - "I am so looking forward to return home, so I can take care of little Isaac. This journey has really help me to fully open my eyes, and I am happy that there is still hope to get things better here." - she smiled as she sat down some meters behind Adykon, so him and the kid would not feel overwhelmed with tooi many people around.

Kuja was seated next to Kos, playing with the little child quite happily. Akito sat there, looking at Adykon.
"Marcus is right. Something's troubling you, isn't it?"

(OOC: The links lead to music for each scene, click on them, and since this is the first one for this RP, please tell me what you think of it.)

"Hmm... oh. Well... being a father is new to me. I'm better at killing things than raising them... except for goats, that is... and raising a child is much harder than raising a kid." Adykon laughed at his pun.

Meanwhile...

The stones did little to distract the guards... in fact, they had quite the opposite effect. Several guards came running over to the party... and one of them saw the shadow of a female Dracon...

Rhiga saw the guards moving in her direction. She turned her back to them, and ran as fast as she could in the opposite direction. Running past the party, the guards gave chase too, thinking she had something to do with the noise they had heard.

Adykon looked around. While he was not tired, he could see that Kos was. "I'll be right back. I need to put Kos to sleep... how do I do that again? Is there a bed small enough for a toddler? A cradle? A crib? A... basket? Ilsa... Minna... someone help."

"I'm... not sure that... no. I want to keep an eye on him... at least for now. Show me what to do, if you know how, girls... please... this is important. I need to learn how to do it. I cannot just keep putting the child in someone else's care forever. " Adykon replied.

Well, this is more like it, Eternion thought to himself. Trouble was... now that the guards were alerted, it was only a matter of time before the alarm was spread... especially if they knew who they were chasing.

Like a small seemingly harmless fire... this whole situation had just gone out of control.

'Right, someone better take care of that child,' Eternion said, referring to Jake. 'Rhiga is going to need a hand, but now the priority is getting back to the inn and warning the others. There could be a city wide search... and we don't want to be waiting around.'

He looked at the others grimly. 'Split up and loose them. I can keep this lot here occupied for a while.' At that, a wry grin came across his face.

He turned and stood in front of the group. Naturally, several guards had confronted them while others had given chase to Rhiga. He knew the city watch wasn't particularly well known for their lawfulness... and probably were looking for an excuse to cause some trouble.

He kept a strong stance, Almia's sword just a scant few inches from his right hand... things could get ugly... and fast.

(OOC: Because metadude isn't here at the moment, I'll add a few lines to Jake. He had given me permission for things like this when he wasn't around.)

Rhiga shouldn't have panicked like that... now, if they didn't know who she was before, they would figure it out now...

"Terrific... what do I do now?!" She thought, running down the streets. She saw that the rest of the party was far away from her, and that some of the guards were with them, some were chasing her...

"They must have thought that I had made that noise..."

Suddenly, Jake approached the guards that were confronting the party. He had an evil smile on his face...

"Jake! Thank goodness you've come to your senses!" Vespion told the boy. "Guards, it was Jake who made that noise, not that female. Jake, tell him that you made the-"

"They're with me, guards." Jake replied.

"Yes, that's right" Vespion added. "He is with us."

"Then, you are part of some adventuring party?" one of the guards asked.

"Oh yes. Jake, the human youth you see before you, had run away for... well... I'm not sure why, and he must have fallen, so that was the cause of all the noise." Vespion replied.

"Then why is that female running away?" queried the guard.

"Her? Oh... she is rather... high-strung. She was running from the noise when your guards decided to give chase."

"My... well... heheh, I may look it, but I'm not the leader of those patrollers" replied the guard, somewhat pridefully "Our commander is with the group chasing your female. She's with your party too?"

"Yes. Along with this human here. Forgive us for any inconveniences... we are an adventuring party, not a band of thieves. We have honor and this incident is rather embarrassing, isn't that right, Jake?"

"Yeah, it kinda is..." the boy replied. "Say, since we are an honorable party, I guess this means the actions of one of us reflect all of us... so what I did was not just making me look bad, it made all of us look bad... because we all speak for the party... so to speak."

"Now you're catching on!" Vespion replied. "See, guard, he gets it now. Jake had some problems earlier, but now everything is cleared up and all going back to normal. Sorry for the inconvi-"

"Just a second" Jake replied. "The actions of one of us reflect all of us... so, speaking for the party, I have something to give you guards, as a token of our appreciation for all your hard work."

"Really? What do you have in mind?" Asked the guard.

"THIS!" And with that, Jake punched the guard in the face with his metal arm as hard as he could. He then drew his sword and began to attack the other guards.

"KILL THEM ALL!" Shouted the other guards present, several more having come over to investigate. "Get that female too!"

Eternion stood there, dumbstruck. The guards had them surrounded... and the child had just... well...

'Uh... Vespion, did I miss something... or did he just punch a guard in the face?'

Last time he had checked, that wasn't how normal people acted.

'Someone might want to do something about the child... things have taken a rather unpleasant- Hey! Watch where you swing that... you undersized oaf!'

A guard had come at him, sword raised. He swung with the precision of a man who had probably just received the sword yesterday... well, at least that's how Eternion saw it.

He grabbed the guards arm, and hauled him over his shoulder. With a grunt, he threw the Dracon back over his shoulder, and into the ground face first with a massive thud.

As he turned, he felt a blow across his blind side. 'Oh... that was uncalled for.' He staggered backwards, feeling a little dizzy. With his good eye on the guard, he could focus a little better... and hopefully his hearing could do a little better next time.

Within a second, he had drawn Almia's sword. It began to glow.

'Watch out!' Cried one of the guards. 'The armored Dracon is carrying an enchanted sword!' Many of the guards turned to face him.

'Ah... crap,' Eternion uttered.

"ha your guards are stupider than one might think!" yelled Jake "this'll be a breeze!". Jake fly kicked one of the guards in the jaw and their was a loud cracking noise. The guard staggered back and their was a gurgled cry of pain coming from the guard. Jake pulled out his sword and he charged at the dracon with the broken jaw.

"heh, this is too easy!" yelled Jake "give me a challenge!"

Several more guards heard the commotion and approached the party. They were armed with swords and clad in steel armor. This was not good...

"Damn. Does anyone have a spell or an item that can get us out of here?! Something to distract the guards... or... something?!" Vespion shouted. A guard moved to attack him, but was knocked back by an "inflict light wounds" spell. Vespion had no desire to kill these Dracons...

Eriol jumped from the shadows and tackled one of the guards down. He then took one of his swords using his left hand to deflect the incoming attack from a second guard and then he used his right fist to give a hard blow to the Dracon's jaw and then he grabbed his right arm and twisted it, successfully dislocating it. the first guard stood up again and charged Eriol, the Panther gave a wicked smile and made a big jump, and used both of his feet to push the guard towards the others that were meant to attack Vespion. The Panther landed on his feet just a meter ehind Vespion - "I am doing what you want, I am not killing them."

Akio spun away from one of the guards, casting a bind spell on him, freezing him in place as he used his swords to deflect other blows.
"I can't use teleportation magic, I'm afraid!"
He yelled, disarming the guards he was facing and pinning them to the ground with summoned swords...

Touga parried a blow, knocking the guard out with the pommel of his sword.
"This is not looking godd..."
He said, facing off against more as Juri and Utena backed with him...

Jake found himself pinned by several guards.

"Hold him down! I'll deliver the killing blow! This one is vicious!" shouted a guard, who promptly drew his sword and aimed for the throat.

Meanwhille...

Rhiga found herself running down a long street. She was fast, but the guards had more stamina. She found herself tiring before too long. With few other options, she climbed the ladder to a roof of an abandoned four-story house, only to have the guard follow her. They pursued her to the edge of the roof. There was no other way out, unless...

"You have me. I can't run anymore. I give up." Rhiga said, her feet edging perilously close to the edge. Her heel spur knocked over a pebble off the edge, and less than a second later, she heard it hit a surface... that was much sooner than she thought it would make a noise... one chance left..."

As the guards approached her, she knew that they would not imprison her... they had far more in store for her. Prison was too good for those who stole from the upper classes of this city, especially thieves who targeted royalty.

"I'll never be taken alive. I'd rather jump than go caught!" And with that, Rhiga jumped off the side of the roof, facing the guards. She had gambled that there was something sticking out of a window one or two stories down...

... and she was correct. Rhiga caught a wooden board that was sticking out of the window of the second story, and before the guards could see her scramble into the open window of the abandoned house, she was inside.

Jake squirmed under the guards grasp. "let go of me or i'll-" Jake ws cut off when a guard covered his mouth with his hand. Jake tried movin his right arm, He lifted it with all his strength but the guards just put an extar dracon on him to hold his metal arm. Jake was now trying to get free but he was failing...

Indeed, thing weren't looking good... the guards were much more numerous, and well armed. Several of the group had been divided into their own struggles... and Eternion knew it was a matter of time before his stamina gave in. His breath was heavy with exhaustion, so much for that warriors spirit...

He too was reluctant to inflict any harm upon the guards, he'd rather not become an adventurer and a murderer in the same day.

Just then, as another guard was knocked over, his eye caught Jake in struggle with the gaurds. They had him pinned, and were about to deliver a killing blow... a coup de grace, to a child.

Something inside his body flared. Something was wrong with the child, but he did not deserve death.

An old flame within him re-ignited, and he let out a roar loud enough to nearly pierce the heavens.

'Hands off the child, scum!' He shouted in a voice that was darker than his own. He charged them with teeth glaring and eyes seemingly glowing.

For the first time in nearly a decade, Eternion had succumbed to his berserker rage.
