"Is everything fine, Adykon? you suddenly went quiet for a while." - Arianne asked the leader of the Party as she noticed him getting quite for some moments.

Eriol leaned his back on a nearby wall, frowning as he was thinking about the situation. - "This whole situation about Dememoras is not only bad, but also far too mysterious, that makes it all worse. But the sooner we manage to get to know what he really is, then the sooner we can make a plan to defeat him for good." - He then sighed. - "I have met people with enormous ammounts of power, too bad they cannot be of help since they are... dead. But with all the things I have seen, I am certain that with Dememoras will not be different and that he will fall too." - He said to try to give some confidence to the Party members... just a bit, so they can have something to hold on to and make things a little bit easier to start making plans.

Adykon, immortals cannot be killed, to be immortal means you cannot die, under any circumstances. Since Dememorus was killed we can assume he is not immortal. however he has managed to revive himself and stay hidden over all this time.' Margas replied.' and his powers are immense, so it makes him very difficult to kill. you mght have to be the one to kill him, if what the others have been saying about you is true. I don't envy you, not one bit, the odds are against you.. but then that is the nature of heroes, to suceed against long odds.."

"And you are correct, Margas. An immortal, by definition, cannot be dead... however, the term also includes those creatures who die, but can come back to life, such as the immoral phoenix, a species of bird which dies every 500 years in a burst of flame, only to have a new chick arise from the ashes." Vespion added.

well said ' Margas replied. ' of course, i've never seen a phoenix, it is on my to-do list' he grinned slightly. ' right after building my own palace..' he paused as he looked at his chain..' tellme rhiga.. he said turning to her. 'where are you from? i think we might have met before.. ' Rhiga in her many thefts had once strolen from margas' father, it had been a very near escape for her, and she had been spotted by servants trying to sneak out

"Well... I was born in the city of Hekaga to my mother, Vaeri... and... well... she didn't know who my father was. During my life there, I performed in many places... mostly inns or taverns, but on occasion, a servant from a palace would be to an inn to recruit dancers for a party in a mansion or palace. That gave me the chance to perform in far nicer places... and for me to raise my profile." Rhiga replied.

He likes to be entertained.. trouble is, we have had a few performers steal friom him.. nothing too valuable . luckily , but it is irritating. we open our doors to these performers and they abuse our hospitality.. We are not as indifferent to the suffering around us as others may be, it was not so long ago that we were poor ourselves, my great grandfather is to thank for our current position, he achieved great distinction oveer the course of his life."

Rhiga realized that she had in fact, probably stolen from the palace in question.

"I only performed in Hekaga until I was forced to flee a few years back. If your father had property in that city, including any lavish estates, it is entirely possible that I performed for him." she replied.

"We need to plan our next move... or at least, learn what we can about Dememoras" Adykon replied. "We need to know what assets we have on our side, what we need to get, and on whose support we can count."

"We have the king and temples of Minbenthac at our side, along with its mighty armies." Vespion added, happily.

"We also have access to whatever supplies and equipment we need" Adykon said, continuing. "At least, the king is willing to grant us anything he has, he can purchase, or he can have made."

"Knowing my city, that will be... QUITE a selection." Vespion added, proudly.

"so are we aloud to get weapons and stuff?" asked Sasha "you know, for protection?"

Meanwhile...

"castle is just up ahead.." thought Jake to himself " if i can just convince the guards..."

jake continued running even though he knew that one wrong move at the palace would get himself killed. jake also knew that the prince needed help. Jake had valuable information that would be very useful to the prince.

"We are indeed allowed to be given weapons, but it is how we use them that matters more." Adykon replied, turning to the young Dracon. "Rex, you are but a youth, and yet you have proven yourself in combat. I cannot demand that you come along in what is certainly going to be the most dangerous battles we have yet faced, but if you want to join us in it... I would not tell you not to go."

Eriol didn't want to interrupt, but he still said. - "They are young, yes, but they seem to be willing to do this and I know you are too, even though you are at the first stages pregnancy. As we make startegies, they may not be front-line combatants, they can be on the side-lines, using their abilities to keep us all alive while the strongest ones make the most of combat... but don't you think you'll get no action, it is most probable that you'll have far more enemies to fight that you'll ever wish you'll have."

Yes we do, outside the western part of Hekaga, that area is one of the richer sections" Margas replied. 'why were you forced to flee from Hekaga? ' Margas knew the reputation of the Hekagan royal family, they ruled the city with an iron claw.

"Well, I had to flee the city because of... political pressures." Rhiga replied, lying.

"The prince had a personal vendetta against me. He wanted me make he one of his wives, I refused, and so I had to flee the city to escape his wrath. I know how he treats females. It's horrible."

'yes , well i've heard the same thing about him, his reputation isn't good at all, but short of overthrowing him and his family by force there's nothing we can do about that.. "Margas replied. 'he and his father have that city firmly under thier control, a shame really, Hekaga used to be an incredible city to visit, now, eighty percent of the city is virtually off-limits.."

Margas was correct in a sense; 80% of the city WAS off-limits to traveling merchants, even if, in practice, the city guard could do little about it. If a peddler wanted to take his goods into one of the poorer parts of Hekaga, he probably could do so with impunity, even though he would face threats other than the city guard... the slums were rife with gangs there...

"almost there..." thought Jake mentally, Jake began to sprint towards the castle, it was just down the street from his current position. Jake then arrived at least a safe distanc so he could see how many guards there were. Jake then decided to walk over to one of the guards at the gate casually. Jake stopped at the guard

Annette looked confused as she said, "Wait a minute...Hekaga....the CITY of Hekaga is off limits...that can't be right. I was there over a month ago, and I was allowed to travel where ever I pleased...could something be wrong?"

"About 20% of the city of Hekaga is legally open to visitors, although in practice, only some of the richer areas are truly blocked off. The poorer areas... well, although some guards might punish a traveler that they do not like, most of them will not care if some foreigner were to do something to the poor... or do something WITH them. As long as the rich were secure, that's all that mattered to them. In other words, you were not 'supposed' to go wherever you wanted, but in practice, you can, so long as you avoid certain areas that the rich live in."
