(OOC: At this point, it would be best to make all posts at least two paragraphs. Not two sentences. I'll let this one slide. XD.)
Selturma was jumping for joy. "Wegetjakebackwegetjakebackohmygodsimsoexcited!"
"Calm down, my dear. We are all happy to see him again. Come here, my boy. Give your mother a hug!" Rex's mother had quite a strong grip for a female.
"I wish could tell you that Rex was here. Sasha is resting in the upstairs bedroom, where your bed was. I didn't expect you so soon, but I never gave up hope of seeing my human son again."
Outside, things were still grim. The clouds broke, a crepuscular ray of golden light shown out from them... and the fear of the soldiers on the wall turned to panic as they behold the visage of Dememoras! He had appeared as a projection in the sky! Not really there, but frightening all the same. He appeared as large as a mountain, as big as a cloud, and as dangerous as a flight of Dragons! No, worse! The illusion reached out its black, clawed hand, a hand the size of a hill, and swept it over the walls of the city, sending almost everyone fleeing for cover, and leading a few to even jump off of the walls to avoid being touched!
Only, there was no real hand. The soldiers who were "touched" by the illusion of the dark master found that it had no substance whatsoever. The whole "god Dememoras" act was all an elaborate show, albeit a terrifying one. Without spending a single life, Dememoras's illusion had shaken the morale of the enemy, and even got a few of them to leap to their doom from the ramparts.
"Damn you, Dememoras! Come down here and fight me like a male! DON'T HIDE BEHIND CHEAP TRICKS! GET DOWN HERE! YOU-YOU... ROAAAR!"
"Adykon! Adykon, stop! Listen to me! Listen to me gods damn it! You need to get ahold of yourself!" Vespion found that he had to literally grab the warrior's head in order to get him to listen, only to find-
SHHWING! He leveled his greatsword at the priest.
"Back off, cleric! I've had it! Enough is enough! I'm sick of being a pawn! I've been tested by the gods, and I've- I've had enough! STOP TESTING ADYKON! Vespion, tell the gods to stop testing me! And you, Dememoras, I WILL KILL YOU PERSONALLY FOR-"
BOOSH! Vespion had responded with a low-power energy bolt; a spell he could cast since he was teenager. A blue orb of light hit Adykon in the head, knocking him on his back. The effect was to stun him, not to injure him in any serious way.
"Are you alright, my friend?" Vespion had kneeled over to where Adykon was lying.
"Ugh... I'm alright. Thanks. I needed that. Cursing at him won't do any good. It's just an illusion."
"Just an illusion, am I?!"
"Oh dear gods..." Adykon's rage had turned to fear, and that newfound dread threatened to turn to panic.
"Fools! Did you really think you stood a chance? You don't know the extent of my power, but you will!"
Vespion attempted to maintain order in the ranks. He wasn't doing a very good job of it. "Stay calm everyone! He's just toying with our heads. That isn't really Dememoras up there; its just a projection of him. If we give into fear now, we will be playing into his hands!"
Seeing that it wasn't working, Vespion ran up to the nearest tower on the wall, looked the visage of Dememoras in the eye, spread his arms, and shouted:
"If you really ARE a god, you will strike me down where I stand! Go on! Kill me! Take my life! Blast me into oblivion if you are a god! I mean it!"
Being nothing more than a fancy giant illusion which had visual and sound input for Dememoras back in his dark dimension and a voice projector for him to speak through, the visage was unable to do anything to actually harm Vespion. It just remained silent. Then, hoping to get him to flee for his life, the illusion swiped at the cleric again and again, its illusory arms passing right through the tower, and Vespion, who continued to stand there, eyes closed, with an odd sort of smile on his face. It was the face of one who knew he was right, and that for once, just once in his life, right would triumph over a tyrant, and reason could prevail over power, even when the tyrannical power was a 'god.'
