Herril looked at Ilsa. - "If the place where she is in under a siege, it may be difficult, but I can try... I'll let her know about our situation." - Herril closed his eyes once more as he took a deep breathe, his face aiming upwards while his hands are at each side of his body. His body was static, but his mind, that is another story: His mind flew in the direction Aerta's tower is and he said mentally, as he tried to reach her. - "Aerta, my name is Herril, a Psyonic from Minbenthac and I am with Adykon, if you can hear my thoughts please answer." - the male Dracon was hoping there will be an answer to his request, he needed to be sure Aerta was there before delivering any message.

Eriol was looking with some curiosity how this Dracon with high mental powers was doing his job, he kept his arms crossed and then he looked in the direction where their destination is.

The group continued down the road but to pass some time Exodar decided to speak. "so guys....since this is beginning to get kinda boring just staring at the road..who wants to play a game?"

"what sort of game?" asked Rex

"it's a game that some human children and some adults play" responded Exodar "the game is called 'I spy', the basic rules of the game are that one person has to find an object and say the first letter of that object. The other people have to guess what it is. If they guess correctly it is their turn to find an object"

"sounds simple enough" replied Rex "so, who go's first?"

"I'll go!" Toby shouted as he swooped down from the sky, flying around the little group while listening in. He took a look around the party, seeing the earth and the air. Then, he found something.

"I spy something that starts with... 'D'!"

While they waited for Herrill to recieve any contact from Aerta the group moved onwards. as they did a loud rumbling sounds became louder and louder, and as they climbed over a large hill they could see the cause of the noise, an expansive army, , marching in file, spreading out over a huge distance. this was clearly the army that Margas and Marcus had talked about. The soldiers closest to them were wearing thick dark armor, splashed with an infernal red. This army was easily in the tens of thousands
_ By the gods" Minna hissed softly as she saw them. ' and how exactly are we going to get past them? I mean , we could knock a few out and take their armor?"

Aerta "heard" Herril's attempts to contact her. Knowing that what happened next would require very careful planning, she reached out with her mind across the astral plane and contacted him directly.

<Psionic? Can you read my thoughts? Am I coming through clearly? I am under siege, and as you know, I cannot hold out for much longer. There is a way to get me out, but it is difficult. I cannot teleport out because to do so would require me to lower my shield first, and that takes time, during which time the enemies would be able to rush in through the weakened shield and attack me before I could escape. Can you reply?>

Herril made a small smile while still concentrating, he smiled because his message was heard. - <I am glad you are able to 'hear' me, the other members of the party are taking a close look at the situation but it looks bad... I have not taken a look at the enemies yet, but I can feel their thoughts and their numbers. I need you to keep a contact so we can coordinate a plan so you can escape from there.>

Eriol walked up the hill too, crouching before reaching the top so the enemies will not see him and he told the Dracons there. - "Can you feel it? the emotion that comes with the fear of facing a foe that is too much for any of us, but yet you know there is a solution?" - There was a sly smile in the Gaean Panther's face as he saw the fear in the Dracon females. - "We must not fall into discouragement, or the enemy will kill us in a second. So let's hope our newcomer psyonic can help us get into a solution, if he manages to talk with Aerta. I think that can be a first step into a proper plan." - He told the Dracons as he kept looking at the enemy forces and all the equipment they have, they sure are trying to kill Aerta at all costs.

<What you need to do is to rather risky. First, you need to get at least one person over to the palace, and then, you need to create a distraction to help clear a path to escape. There is a way to open the force-field a little bit, opening a hole for me to get out, but you need to get someone over to the palace first.>

Adykon saw that Herril was communicating with someone. He could tell because the psionic looked as if he was listening intently to someone speaking in front of him. "What? What is she saying?"

Both Minna and Ilsa tensed. Throughout all their adventures so far, this was easily the most danger they had ever been in.. Ilsa bit her lip, but her face flinched as she saw the enemy forces coming up ahead of them.
Has she answered? ' marcus whispered..
m possibly, judging by the psionic's reaction, I'd guessing she is in contact with him, although it is just a guess" Margas replied.

Herril raised an eyebrow (or the closest a Dracon has to an eyebrow) as he heard Aerta and then as he heard Adykon's question. The Psyonic opened his eyes for a moment. - "Aerta has a plan, but there is a problem, because we need to find a way to get one of us inside her tower, and to create a way to escape... she can make a temporary opening in her field for one of us to enter." - Herril closed his eyes again to contact Aerta. - <Aerta, I have told Adykon, can you mantain your protection field until we decide who will enter and how?, I can help you mantain this link so it will be a strain less from you.>

<I can maintain this field for a day or two more without too much difficultly. Even so, the sooner you send someone, the better. There are some doors inside the palace that are integrated with the force-field. These can be opened by someone entering the right solution to a code. There are three doors to... uhh!>

As Aerta groaned in pain, an explosion went off, hitting the force-field at the same time. It was clear that not only was her time running out, but that she was connected with the field. When it was hit hard, she felt it.

As the explosion was felt, every member of the party could feel the magnitude of it. - "Dememoras' soldiers are intensifying their attacks, if we will act, then we must soon." - Eriol said as he saw what happened.

Aerta's pain passed to Herril due to the mental link, and the link was weakened because of it. - "This is bad, Adykon, since Aerta created that force field using all of her power, then she can feel the damage the soldiers are causing... if the field fails, she will not be able to recover and attempt an escape."

Kelassa knelt besides Herril. - "There must be a way to get that person inside her tower and quickly."

To that, Herril replied. - "There are some doors in her tower that are directly connected to the field, and one can enter if knowing the solution to her codes... but the explosion interrupted the link, I will attempt to recover it." - Then Herril closed his eyes again and tried to find Aerta again.

Aerta managed to contact Herril again, but the signal was much weaker.

<C...n y... h...r me? Ple... send some... soon.> Her "voice" cut out after that, and nothing more could be "heard."

So far, the party had gone unnoticed by the army, but sooner or later, this would come to an end. If they were going to save the female archmage, now was the time.

Herril opened his eyes again. - "I'm sorry Adykon, but I lost her, I-I cannot reach her... that explosion was too much for her." - the psyonic said as he was visible affected because of the explosion and how it foced the link to break so violently.

At the same time, Eriol was looking at the situation from the hill, he then turned to the Dracons there. - "Something happened, it looks like that explosion caused more damaged than we thought. We really need that plan now."

"What did she say? What am I supposed to do? I'm supposed to go in there, right? Where is the entrance? Did she... oh... just tell me what you know, please." Adykon was worried, as was Vespion.

The cleric sensed something odd. Being both a mage and a cleric gave him an insight not many shared. As a mage, he could detect magic, including magic in living beings, but he could also detect auras of light and darkness, corresponding to what would be considered good and evil, as many clerics were trained to. What he felt was a being that had dark magic, yet no darkness within it.

This wouldn't have surprised Vespion as much if not for the fact that this powerful being was not inside the palace, nor a part of the besieging army. It wasn't even in the party.

Herril looked at Adykon. - "All I know is that there are three doors that allows people to go in and out of her tower, but those are directly connected to her force field, so we need a code to enter. Sadly, I got cut off before she could tell me... we might still be able to reach her, but that will have to be in route to there."

Eriol became bored of looking at the enemy forces because they all move following the same patterns, and that he thinks they are all wasting time. He went to where Adykon, Vespion and Herril are.

As the Psyonic was talking to the Party's leader he could suddenly feel a presence, and without thinking, he looked in the direction the presence is. - "Somebody else is apporaching, it has powerful dark magic... but it is not offensive."

"That would not be my first time to feel something like that." - Eriol said with a smile, but then he added before anybody could talk. - "please, ignore what I've just said, I am not in the mood to talk about my past and we have no time either." - But Eriol had to admit that he was curious about the newcomer... as the rest of the party members are.

"yeah, it kinda is...hmmmm..." said Exodar as he examined his surroundings "hmmm

As the group continued walking they were beginning to get closer to the party but still had a bit to go, so as everyone was thinking of what the object could be rex spoke up

"can't think of anything...this is hard, Selturma, can you guess???"

Selturma looked around, seeing sand, clouds, dracons, the river, and the sky. Then she looked down at the ground, seeing a dirt path, the one that they were walking on. Wait a minute. That was it!

"Dirt? Is it dirt?" she asked, to which Toby replied;

"Yes. You got it!"

That was a rather obvious thing to guess...
