The party spent the next day recovering. After that, they continued on their journey through the desert, with the immediate goal of reaching the nearest city.

The settlement they sought to reach was named Iniktaoul, a city of moderate size. It's name literally meant "sand city", due to the proximity of a sandier party of the desert leading south from it. It was in this sandy region that the lost city lay, as opposed to the rocky desert the party was traveling through now.

"Does anyone know anything about this city?" Sivar asked while looking around her.

"Yes" Adykon said "The city is smaller than the one that most of us had left earlier... and it is a more than a bit rougher too. Nevertheless the city plays host to a number of cults, some of which may have useful knowledge. Also, there is an oracle either in or near the city, and we can ask him where we can find the lost city."

"What will it cost to visit this oracle?" Kravik asked.

"Kravik is right, I think we must try to know that before we actually meet that Oracle." - Eriol said, nodding to what the Dracon said and to avoid nasty surprises.

"I don't know what the price is" Adykon said. "It may be that in order to cover the cost, we may have to perform a job or two while in the city."

Kravik nods, "Let's just hope the price isn't to high." He said.

"Indeed." Sivar said agreeing.

Adykon thought to himself about recent events. First, it rained at a very coincidental moment during the tournament, then, a tribe of kobolds attacked them in the desert in a coordinated attack... a little too coordinated... as if they had expected the party to be there at a certain time. Was it all coincidence? Or, was someone watching the party and using magic to send these things at them? If so, who was doing it, and why?

Eriol came closer to Adykon - "You seem troubled. Maybe you should clear your head a bit as we need to know where could be that Oracle you have mentioned."

"Oh, I know where the oracle is located... it's just... isn't it a bit coincidental that we were attacked by kobolds who knew exactly where we were, and were prepared to fight us? And that rain earlier during the tournament? What were the odds of that? Normally, it only rains once for 15 minutes every few years... and the storm lasted for hours..."

"Maybe we can ask this oracle about who is sending those forces against us & why." Kravik said thinking over what Adykon had said.

"& also perhaps why." Sivar said finding the idea of having some unseen enemy annoying.

"If there is someone not wanting us from reaching the Lost City, then we really need to know who might be... and I also think to have an invisible for is annoying." - Eriol added to what has been commented.

"Perhaps someone doesn't want us to accomplish our mission... but who could possibly know about it?" Adykon said. "We were never told that the artifact had any special value... but maybe we were lied to..."

"Who hired all of you for this quest?" - Eriol asked Adykon - "... maybe our invisible enemy is really behind the artifact and behind the one that hired you all."

"Hmm." Kravik said thinking.  "It may be that. What do the rest of you think?" He asked the others.

"I don't think so. Arcandas hired us to find the artifact, so he would gain nothing by trying to kill us in the course of finding it. I believe that someone who also wants the artifact is trying to stop us." Adykon said. "That, or someone who wants to stop anyone from touching the artifact."

"I am also not sure what the rain was supposed to do... it may have been a botched attempt at summoning a storm with great power." He added.

"or some sort of storm or water elemental.  & it could be one of the rivals of the person who hired you to hire us." Kravik said.

"Not me." Sivar said shaking her head.

"No, I've none that I know about." Kravik said, also shaking his head.
