With a large family, most of the older siblings were married off to strengthn our families standing.. sincce the family has no need of my marriage as of yet, I've remained unmarried..' "I can't stand the restrictiveness of the upper classes; they spend all their time in towers and behind walls and gates, with guards and fortifications to keep the rest of the world out of their little pocket of luxury... seems more like a prison than a palace."

Yes I know magic" Isla said, gesturing, and pulling a staff out of the air. "I'm nothing like the great wizards of story and legend, but I'm pretty good.." Her staff had two crystals set into its top. the two glowed at alternate times..

My father trained me, and hired traveling mages in fill in the gaps.." Isla replied.. "It wasn't cheap, but he paid them, and it paid off in my increasing skills.. I can heal wounds, as long as they are not lethal..."

Yes I was.. " Isla nodded. "My fathger has said, on more than one occasion, that I was the most skilled of his daughters at magic, and only my eldest brother Nigrot was better at the magical arts, given his great skilll, that is high praise coming from my father.."
