"What's all the commotion about?" Adykon asked, approaching the females. He took one look at them and correctly guessed what it was... "You are with child, Arianne?"

Arianne smiled at Ilsa and then she looked at Adykon with a smile. - "You are correct Adykon, I am waiting for my second child."

(OOC: Let's make these posts longer... mine included.)

Adykon told Arianne "You ought to tell your husband of this immediately. As for the rest of the party... that is your choice. I won't say anything if you don't want me too. I will try to keep you out of combat whenever I can, though. I don't want to put an unborn child at risk..."

When she tells Eriol is up to her" Ilsa said as they continued moving down the alleyway.. the sun was approaching the noontime, the temperature began to rise.. and it was already hot..
_ So where is you next sibling Rhiga" Minna asked her as they continued walking.. the cobblestones were hard against her feet, and she resisted the urged to bend over and fiddle with her feet..

Meanwhile...

"I wonder where Jake and the others went?" Rhiga asked Vespion. Marcus didn't know...

"The kids are scheduled to meet us at the inn when the sun goes down... that's not for hours and hours..." the cleric replied.

"That's good to hear. We should get to out destination soon... my feet are killing me! Who's idea was it to make the streets of cobblestone? This hurts!" the Dracon girl complained. It was not unreasonable for her to complain about it; it was hard to walk on...

Some streets in Minbenthac were made the same way, but most there were made of sand, or were reasonably flat and smooth... these were rough, hard, and uneven.

_
Well we do need to keep out of sight remember Rhiga isn't exactly welcome here' Marcus replied..

"Agreed. We need to move fast. If we have food, we need to eat it on the way, not stop to eat it..." Adykon told the group. He had hoped that the kids were not in trouble... they probably were... he would have to save them too, he thought.  <_<

"These streets are very unfriendly... they are only useful for carts." - Arianne said as she did her best to walk on those streets.

Eriol nodded and replied - "Well, this city favors commerce too much, much more than even it's people, that could explain wht all streets are that way here in Hekaga." - he then paused for a moment and went closer to Arianne. - "I saw you going to talk quite privately to Ilsa, were you commenting funny things about me?." - he said with an amused tone of voice.

"It is not that Eriol, it is that Ilsa helped me to confirm that we..." - Arianne blushed and gave him a lovely look. - "... we are going to have a second baby."

For the second time on this journey life made sense for Eriol. The news made him speechless and after just a second, he moved and embraced her. - "You just made me the happiest Gaean on this entire world." - Arianne embraced him back, and both Panthers remained there for some moments, before realizing that the entire party was looking at them.

"We are going to have a second child." - Eriol told the party, with much pride on his voice.

Congratulations poured in from the rest of the party. Everyone was happy to hear it... again. This was the second pregnancy in the party so far.  :D "This is your... second child? It's great news in any case!" Adykon told Eriol, shaking the panthers hand.

"We should tell Jake" Vespion said... "Where IS he?"

Minna grinned as Arriane revealed her pregnancy ' "Congratulations you two! So this is your second?"
_ Marcus warmly clapped at the announcement " So Rhiga isn;t the only one expecting... Do you know its gender yet?
_ It's too early " Ilsa explained.

"I don't know how it works with mammals" Vespion told the group. "I know you give... live birth" he shuddered a bit at that thought.

"It comes out of them kicking and screaming... not nice to think about" Rhiga said to Marcus. "I can't imagine laying an egg like that..."

Eggs are different than live birth, with live birth theres no shell, and it often takes longer to give birth depending on the species' Ilsa said.. 'well i'm glad Dracons don't have live birth... sounds very painful' Marcus said

"The egg just slides right out" Rhiga said, having laid three eggs in the past. "It hurts, but it isn't THAT bad... and it is pretty quick... a few hours at most, and it only really hurts just before it comes out. Now, protecting the egg... that's another thing."

Yes, there are many poorer females who have tried to steal eggs in the past" Minna said. " So desperate to have a child, they take them from the rightful mothers...' Ilsa shuddered it was a terrible thing to think about..

"The main problem are slavers" Adykon told Minna. "They try to steal eggs, hatch them, and sell the child into slavery. They sometimes sell the unhatched egg so that the child will be enslaved once he or she is born. Very sad. That is illegal in most cases, except for debt slavery and eggs captured in war."

It was a harsh land. The Dracons lived in a realm of relativism and polytheism. Slavery and other crimes flourished because there was no one standard of justice, or even a closely-related set of standards. It was awful. Force, not the rule of law, was the order of the day...  and their religions gave them contradictory rules on how to live.

While minna and Ilsa enjoyed a very affulent life, they were unable to make any serious impact of the classes beneath them. too many of thier fellow nobles cared little about the poor.

The party eventually came to another inn. This was where Rhiga's half-sister worked. She would have been off-duty at this hour; it was now well past noon. A good a time as any to check up on her...
