'Very well,' Eternion said with a slight nod. 'We may head to my house and collect the equipment I have on hand. I also have some coinage, not much I must admit... but it should cover my own requirements for a while at least.'

'Then we can head for this inn to meet with the others.'

Eternion was somewhat intrigued by the notion of there being even more members in this group. A small army to say the least... and all his life it had usually been just him and Almia, save for the occasional other who happened to get caught up in their adventures.

It made him wonder- just a little- of their fates... but now was not the time.

"Don't worry about finances. Minna and Ilsa can cover everything for now. You know, the funny thing was, I had originally started this whole adventure because I wanted some money... I got a lot more than I bargained for, that's for sure!" Adykon said to Eternion.

And with that, they left the temple, and headed for Eternion's house, the old Dracon leading the way.

It wasn't far away. An old Dracon certainly didn't want to travel far from his home day in, day out.

It was a ramshackle place... which was no surprise given most of the city. Dust had settled upon the floor (odd, considering his previous occupation), and the whole house was sparse... with only a few pieces of furniture and a couple of pictures upon the walls. The others wouldn't have been surprised to find an old Dracon, who lived alone, was more than a little negligent of his property.

'It looked a lot better when I first bought it. Heh, the fact that I even own it whole is satisfaction enough for me.'

He rubbed his hands together. 'Right, let's get this over and done with.'

With the assistance of the others, Eternion was quickly packed. He carried a small backpack with typical adventurers supplies (rations, a bedroll, water...), a pouch filled with some coin, two swords (Akio's gift- which he decided was a fitting name for it- as well as Almia's sword "The Guiding Light", which he would never leave without), and the robe on his back. He decided he would bring his axe "Decider" as well, but the last thing he wanted to do was swing that thing around... and do his back in.

(Decider)

(The Guiding Light)

It was then, that he turned and looked into a darkened corner near the house entrance.

He held Almia's sword in front of him, and it began to shine a humble white light. Standing in front of Eternion was a complete set of full plate armor.

It was colored a dark gray, with a lighter red running along in a pattern. Spikes ran along the back, shoulder plates, arms and legs. It also had room on the back for his tail, as well as a plate of metal to protect the top of it. All in all, it was a little rusty, dented and scratched... and the leather could use a little work... but he wondered...

'This is the only armor I have, and if we are to fight what you say we are to... then I would prefer I did it in this.'

The party gathered its supplies together. The armor Eternion wore was equal to Adykon's in about every way, although the former would have required a Dracon to remove the footpieces in order to fit into it; the latter armor had no such parts to it.

"It's getting late, so we ought to head for the inn. Jake isn't there yet, but he should be there soon, along with the other kids." Adykon said. He continued, taking a breath,

"I know that the accommodations at the inn aren't... ideal, but then again, nothing in this city is... unless you are rich. "

With that, they went back to the overcrowded inn...

The Party made their way towards the inn, as the sun began to set. Minna looked forward to a good night sleep, hopefully with a softer bed, the one she had shared with Minna had been like sleeping on a rock..

"It is getting dark" Vespion told Adykon. "They should be here soon..."

"The streets are very dangerous at night" Rhiga added, looking around. She sniffed the air. "This place still stinks as always... and the vagrants are more active at night than in the day... I hate that."

"Well, if they are not here soon, we should go find them... I'll go." Adykon added, still holding Kos in his arms. "Someone will have to watch Kos if that happens, Isla, will you watch him for a little while if it comes to that?"

Kos was old enough to eat food like grapes. He ate them up ravenously. The poor child hadn't been fed well in a while, Adykon saw.

"I'll have to go get him more food" Adykon told the girls. "I'll be back soon. Hopefully they have something edible here..."

Eternion looked out of the inn window, into the near darkness. He always hated that about this city... so poorly lit. He could remember Graylane being a well lit place, one could even say it was a city of the night. Everywhere you went, lamp posts lit the way. He wondered just for a moment if the old city still stood... he hadn't seen it since... well, since the night he ran away.

He looked down at Almia's sword as it glowed lightly... it had an odd habit of doing that.

'Don't remind me, dear,' He said to the sword with a chuckle. He looked around nervously, hoping the others hadn't just seen him talk to his sword.

As the night went on, he turned to the group with a worried expression. 'I feel those others we wait for might be in trouble. The night is a dangerous one here. There are few safe places to take sanctuary around these parts... especially if they are young as you say they are.'

'If we are to go find them, we should do it soon. And yes, I am going... I know this place well, and have walked through the night many times over.'

Akio nodded.
"Agreed. We probably should go find them..."
As he spoke a darkly shining rift opened in front of them, and Kuja stepped out.
"Evening, all."
He said calmly, cavalierly...

Akito smiled at Eternion.
"You talk to your blade, hm?  Not something I've seen many but myself do..."
He said gently...

Adykon found some mashed grains mixed in water. It wasn't much, but after giving it a little taste, he found it to be edible for a child like his son...

Returning to the rest of his group, he gave the food to Kos, who sniffed it, not knowing what it was...

"It's good, my boy... go on, eat it" Adykon said, giving Kos a spoon. The child looked up at him, which a quizzical look on his little face. Adykon didn't even know a child that young could have such a look on his face...

"Uh... I guess you don't know how to use a spoon yet." He said to the child.

"No." Kos replied.

"Do you know what a spoon is?" Adykon asked.

"No." Came the answer.

"You don't say much yet, do you?"

"No."

This was going to be hard... "Does anyone have experience feeding small children with a spoon?" Adykon asked the party.

At about that time, Vespion saw that Adykon was busy feeding his son...

"I guess it will be up to the rest of us to find Jake..." Vespion said. "I'll make sure to tell Adykon before we go. Who's with me?"

Akio stepped forward.
"I am, Vespion.  A fauxen's nose could be rather useful for this task..."
He said, as the others looked at each other.
"Juri, Miki, and I will go as well."
Touga said, stepping forward aside Akio.

Kuja, meanwhile had walked over to Adykon.
"I do, if you'll allow me to."
He said kindly, smiling at Kos...

Adykon was so wrapped up in his task, he didn't notice that the Fauxen next to him was Kuja... he was used to all the other Fauxen except for Akito to be... pretty much all the same in his mind.

"Alright. Thanks. Could you please show me how it is done? I'll be raising this child so feeding him will have to be one of my main responsibilities..."

Vespion spoke in Adykon's direction, seeing a Fauxen nearby but not which one it was. "Adykon, some of the group and I are going to look for Jake. We know which direction he walked off in. We should be able to find him soon."

"Alright, Vespion. That's fine. I'll stay after all." came the reply.

"I'll go too." Rhiga told Adykon. She knew the streets. She was somewhat... under-dressed, with only a bottom section on her... no top... but it would do.

Arianne went closer to Adykon, then she knelt some steps behind him and told him with a soft voice. - "I hope it will not bother you if I observe too, because Eriol and I need to learn too." - She is indeed interested to learn too, with a baby waiting for her back in her homeland and a new baby on the way, she sure will need all the help and knowledge she can get.

Eriol went closer too, remaining just behind his wife, not saying a word, but thinking - "Who would have thought that Adykon can have a soft side."

Kos was eating the food with his little hands, shoveling it in his mouth and licking it off the side of his snout. Adykon didn't approve of it, but didn't want to stop the boy from eating... he was a very hungry little Dracon.

"Can someone tell me what to do here? I... really have no clue. This is all so...new to me." the mercenary said.

'I'll be coming along, too,' Eternion said to Vespion. 'As I said before, I know what these darkened streets can be like... and... might as well make myself useful.'

He looked over to the small Dracon child with his good eye, and couldn't help but laugh.

'My dear boy, you're doing it all wrong. Here, somebody pass me a spoon.'

With a spoon in hand, Eternion took a spoonfull of the (rather admittedly) awful looking mashed grain. He shoved into his mouth, chewed for a bit (Damn these old teeth of mine) and swallowed... rubbing his armored belly in pretend satisfaction.

Good grief, that's disgusting, Eternion thought as he faked a smile. 'Mmm, delicious,' he said forcefully.

'Now, you try,' he said to the child, offering a small spoon. He felt rather silly, that was for sure...

'Might want to help me out here,' he whispered to Kuja at his side, seeing that he was the one who had offered to help first.

Kuja smiled, picking up the spoon and scooping up some of the food.
"Here, little one.  Eat some of this.  It'll help you get strong, just like your father."
He said with a gentle smile, offering some to Kos...

Kos bit down on the spoon, not sure if it too was edible or not. Adykon gently but firmly pulled the spoon from the child's mouth... he had a strong bite for his age. The child swallowed the grain and then reached for more. Adykon put some more of the grain on the spoon and put in it Kos's mouth, than pulled it out. He repeated this a number of times, until the bowl was about 2/3 empty.

Vespion looked at Adykon...

"You seem to have the situation well in hand. Now, all those who are willing, let's find Jake..." the cleric told the group.
