While Adykon had been meeting with the king, Minna and Ilsa had been gathering potions and spells from the vast library of the king's mages. any of these spells were powerful enough that they could only be cast once or twice in a year. they had also grabbed a bnumber of amulets including a few that could detect curses placed on them.

"So, how is my little warrior doing?" Rex's father asked him. "You look good, my boy."

Rex's mother entered the room, and gave her husband a hug from behind, smiling the whole time. "I'll be with you later tonight, my love" he whispered to her before turning back to their kids.

After hearing this, Rex's parents were horrified.

"Dear gods. I don't... know what to say. Jake's... another casualty of war." Rex's father told his family.

Annette had followed Rex and Selturma home! She must have been concerned about them... it was kinda odd for a human to see Dracons at home, but Jake and Sasha had lived among them for years...

"Hi! Everyone, this is Annette! She just joined the adventuring party after we left Hekaga!" Selturma told the others.

The rest of the party was not there. Adykon, Rhiga, the Fauxen, Vespion, Minna, Ilsa, Marcus, and the rest were all at the palace of the king... except for Jake. He was... well... gods knew where he was...

Turning to Annette, Selturma told her about Jake.

"Jake was with the party since the start, pretty much. He was there even before I was. I'm sure we will see him again... oh... that's right. You never saw him to begin with, did you, Annette?"

Selturma knocked on Rex's door. She wanted to see him... and the young female was certain that he would want to see her... the issues of war and the Dark Master and... Jake... were all so far away...

They just lay there. So much had happened. Rhiga was back, but... Vaeri was dead, Jake was gone, and everything could be lost and destroyed if Adykon did not stop Dememoras. Times would not be easy. All of these events were not exactly conducive to relaxing. The threat of destruction was nerve-wracking, to say the least. Selturma was more tense now than she had been in a long time...

Selturma decided to break the monotony. "Rex, your mom is good at relieving tension, right? She knows how to make her kids feel better?"

"Is she better?" Selturma said with a smile and a wink, not wanting to tire Rex more than he already was. "I'll take whichever one is best at giving one" she added, stretching her lithe body.

"my mum is probably better at it than i am because im a little tired.." said Rex as he gave a slight yawn. "my mum gives really good foot massages and back rubs, ask Sasha if she'll come with you"
