"Well, we don't know." Vespion replied. "We just don't know. Some beings that are immortal can come back to life after their physical body is destroyed, other beings that ARE mortal can be brought back to life. There are some theories to Dememoras's true nature... that he is a lich, maybe, or that he was resurrected by his followers all that time ago... or maybe he really IS immortal somehow. Again, we don't know for sure, and I hate that."
"Considering that he appeared before history was well-recorded and has stayed hidden for so long... it would be hard to know much about him... and of what is said of him... it is difficult to separate what is fact from fiction. Rumors and false knowledge tends to pile up over the course of thousands of years." Adykon said, but as he spoke, the exact words were repeated in his head by a female voice... the archmage... again.
"You! What are you doing in my head... again?" Adykon thought, his lips not moving.
"I was contacted by the archmage of the palace. He told me to contact you as soon as possible. I cannot stay for long... my home is still under siege; it has been ever since my husband got blown up by Dememoras."
"Blown up?! Wait... you and your husband... were the ones who helped us with Arcantas... that's right... it has been a while..."
"And I helped you again with him and Asthia under her tower... yes, we get along well, don't we? I'll contact you again tonight... it is easier to do so when the recipient of the spell is sleeping..."
"Alright then... but can you tell me one thing? Do you know what Dememoras is?"
"I know as little as you do on what he is... I can tell you what he intends to do... but I already did that. I have forseen that we will meet in person, and that you will lead the forces that will lift the siege on my palace..."
"Alright!"
"... or die trying."
"... oh. I'm not so fond of that option."
"And yet, I sense you will be there. You and I share much in common, Adykon. We have both lost the one we loved to Dememoras, and fate has more plans for us still..."
"Yes... he just teleported in and... hey! How'd you know about that? Have you been scrying on me?"
"That is correct. You should be grateful; if I didn't know what you were doing, I couldn't have been there to help you. I only take a look once or twice a day at most; I don't have the energy to check much more than that..."
"Right. Well, I guess I'll 'see' you tonight."
"It'll be the stuff dreams are made of... see you then."
And with that, the voice in Adykon's head disappeared.
"She has a lot of explaining to do... I don't think she's told me everything... and what was her name... dang it... I think she told me but I forgot... and I'm going to ask Vespion to use a spell to detect scrying from now on..."
