"We should wait here a bit longer for Minna and Ilsa" Adykon told the group. "If they don't show up soon, we shall go on without them today. I'll make sure they know to meet here again tomorrow... I'll get a messenger to tell them what needs to be told."

"Now then, does anyone have any issues that need to be addressed? We need to tie up as many loose ends as we can before preparing to take on The Dark Master..." He continued.

Meanwhile...

"So... you bring me a human with a metal arm?" The Prince of Hekaga asked the guards. "Speak human. If I like what you have to say, you'll have the privilege of not being thrown out of here on your face."

Jake stepped forward "i hear that you have a problem with some previous friends of mine" said Jake "if you want them gone....i can arrange it, i know where they live and i know there weaknesses.". jake gave an evil looking grin

Eriol said to Adykon. - "I think Arianne and I need some equipment, like armor parts, but we must take a close look since we don't want them to impair our speed and agility, specially for my wife. (he sighs) I know should not let her fight, but she is very... 'diplomatically stubborn', so she does want to lend us her help for as much as time she'll be able to."

Since Adykon talked to the whole group, Arianne heard and smiled to her husband's comment. - "Don't worry Adykon, I am sure we will all be ready very soon, we may just need some little more things and we should be ready." - she said with her well known soft voice.

After a little while, the party decided to go on without Minna and Ilsa. They would meet those girls later, probably tomorrow.

"Alright, lets go to the marketplace" Adykon told them. "The king of Minbenthac has told us that he will reimburse us for our costs."

Meanwhile...

"How do I know I can trust you?" The Prince asked Jake. "If you are really sincere, you will agree to a spell which compels you to tell the truth." As soon as he had said that, a mage and some attendants came forward.

"Oh, there's more to the spell than that..." the prince said, evilly, rising from his throne.

"Come forth with the brand!" he shouted, and some servants brought a brand with the symbol of a dragon's head on it.

"If you truly want to serve me, you will have my brand and a suit of armor." the prince told Jake. "What do you say?"

Jake took a look at the brand. Jake thought this over in his head, Jake looked up to the prince "i'll take the brand" said Jake "i can stand pain"

"Very well then" The prince said. He ordered his men;

"Remove his armor. We shall give him our new set in its place. Prepare the spell and the brand!" And no sooner than that, they had Jake's armor and equipment removed (although they kept most of his clothing on, save the shirt that they had to remove in order to brand him), while he was held down and branded on his chest. With the mark in place, a spell was cast onto him to ensure his loyalty. Jake was then marched downstairs to get the new, black armor.

The new armor was colored black, and had been designed for a Dracon. Made out of enchanted steel, it could resist all but the strongest blows from and ordinary blade, and was even tough to hurt with mildly enchanted weapons. The one thing lacking from the suit was armor for the feet, as it had been designed for a Dracon, and few armors that they made covered that part.

Still, Jake was now a member of the Prince of Hekaga's retinue. He was given his own room and a small group of servants. Because a second enchantment was placed on him, Jake's curse was prolonged to the point that he would continue to act evilly until someone dispelled it; this curse would not wear off in time.

margas got up and ent over to minna's room, which he found empty.. he spent a few minutes looking around, and turned to leave when he was satisfied ilsa was not there
_ Meanwhile Ilsa and Minna were talking and making preparations to leave. we need to find this sorceress" ilsa said as she began staffing some clothes into a knapsack. "Yes, and I think I might have a good idea about who's responsible.. Minna said darkly. "Remember back in our magic studies there was a girl named Malcia?"
_ Oh yes, I remember... she and you did not get on..at all..She believed that you were the "teacher's pet'because of your father.." Ilsa said. " still, we can't just accuse her of doing it.. without proof."

Lucien approached the girls. He noticed that there was something wrong with them.

"Hello. How is my betrothed doing today?" He asked Minna, knowing that she was worried about something. "Have you heard the rumors about the Dark Master? They say he made a dragon land on the roof of the king's palace or some other nonsense..."

Lucien took Minna's clawed hand into his own.

"What curse? What do you think she did to you?" He asked, sounding quite concerned. He wasn't a mage... he couldn't counter a curse or remove one, even to the ones he loved.

"I don't know exactly when Minna was cursed, but the curse has been on her for awhile.. she's been acting.. odd, and the curse becomes more potent as time goes on.. there are only two ways to remove it, force the magician who put the curse on to lift it, or create an antidote, which requires several rare ingredients and could take months to find all of them and make the antidote. I don't think we have that type of time before the ciurse reaches the final stage, and Minna becomes completely at Malcia's mercy. We need to find her, and make her remove it." Ilsa said. Margas frowned.

"Where is she?!" Lucien asked. "I'll stop her myself! Just tell me where to go! I'll find her."

What he was thinking was even stronger than what he was saying.

"There's no way I'm letting some arrogant bitch mage stop me from marrying her. I've got a lot riding on this marriage... I'll never get to finish my plans without allying with Tallon's house... and Minna is the key to that! No one takes what is mine from me. No one... not even a mage, a king, or a god!"

"Malcia was no slouch at magic, even if she was an annoyance as a classmate, theres no denying her skills. in fact, there were only a few among us that were better than her. I trust Ilsa" He said turning to her. "we need to find malcia, and quickly, and make her remove it. In return , her life will be spared, and we will speak no more of it. But if she refuses, then the full weight of Damnatio memorae will fall on her!' Margas said his face filled with anger.

Annette had stood quietly on the side watching and listening to what the curse was and the only two ways to remove it and for a while she was rather stunned at this revelation and sighed aloud as she stepped forward with a concerned look in her eyes as she put forth her suggestion. "Could there be a way to transfer the curse to someone else? That way the original person who was placed under it would be free from harm?" Her eyes then took on a bold and selfless look as she continued. "Because if we can transfer the curse to someone else I want it to be me! I'm sure we have enough mages within our group that once we find Malcia."

Lucien was quite surprised to see a human girl here. "Minna, Ilsa, do you know this girl?"

Turning to Annette, the noble Dracon male spoke to her "Greetings. My name is Lucien. I'm engaged to Minna. I do not want to see you with such a horrible curse, though, no matter what your species. Let me just ask though... is it normal for human females to wear as much as you do?"

Lucien was not used to the idea of other races being different from his own... he was not exactly... wise in the way. Tolerance and understanding were weak points for him.
