The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

Violet had teleported to the catacombs underneath the city as the darkness spoke to her 'It seems that we will be unable to escape as we are now....'

And that's when Violet's look had reverted back to normal, to what she was before she was infected.  Violet however, she was remaining quiet now as the darkness had indeed, taken full control over her, yet, kept her original look for the time being.

She then glanced around at her surroundings as she smirked some more before she walked off in order to navigate the catacombs, granted, it was a maze down there, so finding the exit wasn't going to be an easy task.

Toby looked around, but could not find Violet.

"She's won't escape that easily. My firebird was designed to home in on her within 5 kilometers. Ah! It's going after her now" He thought. It'll lead me right to her.

The firebird began to fly down into the streets of the city as the battle on the walls was starting to take form. Toby flew after the bird, dodging through alleys and into a dark section of the city, where a temple connected to the catacombs was. Toby would find her, but it would take a while.

Violet continued to navagate the catacombs still, having taken a few minutes before she had finally found the exit "It's about time...." she muttered to herself, only to find that it just led to another section of the catacombs instead.  She seemed to growl to herself, getting rather annoyed that she couldn't find the exit at the moment as she just kept on looking still.

On the walls, the dragonblooded army finally dropped the cover, revealing a force of 5,000 dracons of great size, wearing heavy steel armor, and all of them had wings. Some of them were already flying, most were still on the ground. For a moment, the defenders were too stunned to attack.

Then, one of the archers stationed on the walls fired a shot, striking one of the dragonblooded dracons who were flying right in front of the walls in the eye! He didn't scream, he didn't shout. He hardly reacted. After a moment, the flying dracon calmly reached into his eye, pulled the arrow out, loaded it into a bow that he had, and sent it flying into the eye of the dracon who had shot him in the first place, killing him.

"Good Gods! Did you see-?!" a soldier shouted.

"Get down!" Adykon shouted as a wave of arrows impacted the wall.

Margas Ilsa and Minna had to slide on thier stomachs to avoid getting hit by a volley of arrows. Margas had been in war before, but never against these types of numbers " and this is likely only a fraction of the Dark Lords armies" He muttered as he slowly got to his feet. the scene where the eneny Dracong pulledout the arrow out of his eye stunned and repulsed him' Those beings must be inceredibly powers, to have some a strike not faze them " he said softly

Arianne closed here eyes and began concentrating, she then made a tornado like wind above the sector been attacked, successfully blocking most of the arrows.

"They are demonic indeed, but I don't think they are immortal." - Eriol said with a glare as he charged his crossobow, taking advantage of Arianne's spell, he began firing as soon as the wind spell dissipated itself enough.

The bolts from his crossbow were able to knock a Dragonblooded warrior out of the air and send him hurtling down to his demise. The arrows fired by the city guards were not strong enough to take out the other attackers. In a moment, fully half of the 5000 Dragonblooded Dracons took to the sky, flying up to the walls. The other half flew OVER the walls, and some of them began to land in the city itself, while others flew over the city looking for targets. Fortunately, 5,000 in a city of about a million was not enough to bring it down.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the city, the runemarked army dropped its disguise, and was the first of the four armies to employ their catapults! Flaming projectiles and solid boulders alike fell into the city walls!

...with remarkably little effect. The stone of the walls had been treated to make them resistant to the elements, including flame. The boulders had some impact, but as of yet, it was not much. The trebuchets and rams had yet to come into play, however.

"This is getting way to fun." - Eriol said as he grinned evilly, his aiming capabilities been greater than those expected for someone of his race, he aimed at vulnerable places of all the enemy soldiers he could get in sight, as their armors are heavy, but not perfect.

Arianne gave some steps behind, near some walls that could offer her protection, she did this to be able to better concentrate in her spells, the wing beats of the enemy Dragonbloods did indeed offer her information of their relative position and speed. That was indeed useful for her as she now knows where are they focusing more in their attacks, and then to make her speels to help protect those areas.

A dragonblooded soldier landed and drew his greatsword, the standard weapon for each of them. Every soldier had a bow and a dagger as well, although it was so long, it was practically a sword.

Adykon's own greatsword had been drawn and the battle was joined between him and the dragonblood!

margas climbed down the wal and began blasting away as nearby dragonblooded soldiers. While Margas was a powerful mage, his spell wouldn't have much effect thanks too the armor these soldiers wore which was designed to limit magical damage,...

"They have a mage!" One of the dragonblooded officers shouted, distinguished by blue plumage on his helmet. "Pyromancers, to the front!"

No sooner than he had said that did a pair of flying dragonblooded dracons (dragonbloods for short) fly into range. Margas, Minna, and Ilsa were quickly picked out as mages and all of them had to contend with a volley of fireballs.

Meanwhile, Adykon engaged the Dragonblood warrior, who started the fight with a swing of his sword, arcing the blade through the air in a swift motion. Adykon parried this by moving his sword horizontally to meet the incoming blade, which cased the Dragonblood to pull his own blade back in preparation for another swing at Adykon. But, the mercenary wasn't about to let his foe do that, as he countered with an swift thrust of his sword in the direction of the enemy, stabbing him, but doing little damage.

the three Dracons were forced to rapidly parry the incoming fireballs, deflecting, redirecting or simply dodging. the scene would have been funny if the situation hadn't been so serious.. A Fireball hit Minna on the shoulder  but bounced off the armor she was wearing, as it was it stunned her for a moment..

Her armor was evidently the kind that was magically-treated... even if it meant a magically treated top! Most other dracons were not so lucky. Still, only about 50 of the wall guards have been killed or significantly wounded in the entire battle thus far, and a smaller number of attackers were similarly killed or wounded.

Meanwhile, the battle between Adykon and the Dragonblood continued, neither opponent saying a word as he attacked, parried, and riposted with his blade. This was not good for the defenders. Adykon was among the very best sword fighters in the city. If he could be fought to a standstill by a single soldier, what did this portend for the rest of the army?

One arrow had flown and struck Ku'ux right in the shoulder, to which he pulled it out and tossed the arrow aside with a snort.  Blood may have been drawn, however, the minotaur just seemed to ignore it as he watched the others charge into battle.

He looked over at the flying Dragonbloods and pulled out his axe, stepping back slightly before he rushed forwards, going after the ones fliging over the city, jumping off the city wall and onto a nearby rooftop, damaging said roof in the process, however, it was not enough to slow him down of course as he rushed forwards, jumping off the edge of the rooftop and onto a Dragonblood in order to slam it down into another rooftop.

The Dragonblood was hurt, but not stopped by Ku'ux. Instead, it only served to anger the creature, who was half a meter taller than the minotaur, and larger, continued to fight him. It was evident that Ku'ux wouldn't be able to beat this one!

Fortunately, he didn't have to beat him. An silver colored dracon archmage from a guild stepped onto the roof, and blasted the Dragonblood with an icy blast, freezing him solid! He appeared to have an unnatural silvery tone to his skin, with long black robes and a voice which sounded as if he was speaking in an echo-filled cave. This was Silverfang, of the Order of the Silver Claw.

Ku'ux jumped off and back onto another rooftop as he gave a nod to the Dracon that had helped out.

He looked at the other Dragonbloods circling around the city "What do you propse we do about them?" he asked the Dracon in regards to the circling creatures.

Silverclaw jumped down with Ku'ux, landing on his feet. He was very agile for someone so old...

"My order is holed up inside its silver dome, but I cannot sit idly by and watch the city burn." Silverfang told Ku'ux in his echoing voice. A couple of pyromancers locked onto Silverfang, as they had been given orders to attack the nearest mage, and with the ability to sense magical power, Silverfang's energy signature stood out in the open like a flame in the darkness.

A pair of explosive fireballs were launched at the mage, each powerful enough to blow a dracon clean in half when they hit. Fortunately, Silverfang manged to construct an ice shield in enough time to stop them from hitting himself or Ku'ux.

Meanwhile, within the catacombs, Violet was still attempting to find the exit "This is getting annoying....a good battle up there and here I am down here...." she seemed to mutter to herself as she continued to walk through them aimlessly more or less, well, that's all she could at the moment.

She was unaware that Toby had locked onto her location, however, she at least had time before he was to arrive at her location, yet, she was hoping that reverting back to her old look would be enough to at least, convince the young dragon not to attack her and at least reason with him.

Toby flew through the catacombs, finally spotting Violet. guided by the light of his firebird, he found her looking quite different. Her fur was lighter, as was her clothing, and Toby could not detect a curse on her. He slowed down and did not attack, although he was ready for a surprise attack at any moment.

"Violet! Halt! You aren't going anywhere until you answer some questions. And no backtalk!"  He shouted.

"Questions? What do you mean?" Violet asked him rather sweetly "I had awoken and found myself down here....and I'm kinda lost too, I don't know where the exit it"

She looked down at her feet and gave off a sigh "But I know why you're angry, it's probabally because of what the curse had done, but I didn't mean for any of this to happen, I really didn't, you just have to believe me" she added on, trying to convince him that she was indeed good again.
