The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

Eriol looked back at her with a smile. - "I do feel better too, thanks to you. In fact, I guess I may have scared some people of Minbenthac as my so called 'curse' was taken the best of me."

He saw her sitting with her hands crossed as they are over the bed, he placed a hand over hers. - "Is there anything you want to talk about, this seems to be a good moment, as the city appears to be quiet now." - And that was true, the warriors and people of the great city of Minbenthac was using this time to try to gather the maximum of their strenght back, with hopes that would be enough.

"Eriol, we should discuss something. I know you love me, Isaac, and..." She gestured to her belly, indicating the one unborn. "Am I the most important thing to you on this quest? If you had to give everything up right now and run away with me, would you? Some days, I-I want to do that. To just run off with my love and go to some safe place and never leave your side."

Arianne took a breath before continuing. "Do you think we should- Eriol? My love, my eyes are up here. No need to look for them on my chest." She wasn't mad, though. Not at all. She found the thought of him still staring at those parts to be amusing, despite seeing them many times before. Of course, her pregnancy made them so much bigger...

That last part made Eriol to feel like he was a teenager again. But what she was talking about is a serious matter indeed. - "Arianne... not once but twice, I have lost everything, the second time was when I saw you dying in your palace. When that happened, I began this quest and decided to continue it as I didn't have any other choice... but when you came back, it was like life returned to me and... I'll be honest, I've been thinking in going back home for every single day."

He remained silent for a moment before continuing. - "But I have met people here, they are good people... it must be fun to hear that from me, I know." - he looked at her again. - "... and it will be wrong to just leave them. You have told me that I must follow what my heart says, and I think we should remain here, to see how this ends." - he then gets out of the bed, standing up near Arianne. - "if Dememoras is defeated, then we will return home with no regrets, but if Dememoras wins... then it will be up to us to go home with the warning of this menace."

Arianne stood up, and, gently touching her mate's shoulder's, guided him to the bed to sit down. "How can you be so sure we WILL win, my mate?" Arianne was holding her left foot in her hands and was continuing to massage the foot, but otherwise was paying attention to Eriol. "Is it worth risking the child in me? We are going up against a creature whose power is beyond ANYTHING our people know. Wouldn't it be better to live than to die?"

At this point, something began to change. Arianne's scent was different. She seemed thinner and "less pregnant", although that might have been the light playing tricks on Eriol. She began to look more attractive then before, even for her. And that scent was... impossible. It couldn't have been her pheromones. Not now. That time of the year was over. Was this a trick by Dememoras?

"I am not sure about Dememoras' power, not until I see him first hand... and that's why I said you should take positions to the sidelines. It will be safer." - Eriol was commenting when he felt something strange, something that indeed should not have happening. He felt attracted, much more than he usually feels for Arianne.... but that cannot be.

Suddenly, Eriol's mind snapped. - "wait a second! something is NOT right here." - he said alarmed as he stood up again, not removing his eyesight from Arianne... he just couldn't look at any other place.

"Everything will be fine, my love. Just fine. What's wrong? Are the enemies attacking again? I don't hear anything. Anyway, you shouldn't worry about it. Relax, please. I want you to. That's why I'm showing you myself like that. I know you are interested in how I... look. And I feel the same way for you. I don't want anything to come between us. Not this war, not Dememoras, not even Adykon and the party."

"And Eriol" She added "You can look down at my chest if it makes you happy. I really don't mind. We ARE mates, after all, you and I. I don't feel uncomfortable with you seeing them." She continued to release pheromones, though, getting stronger. Out of season ones too. That was NOT supposed to happen.

Eriol's mind was getting confussed, he knows something is wrong, but his body is telling him otherwise. - "What are you trying to do?... weren't you the one that made me think what is right and what is wrong years ago?."

He gave some steps back, still cannot let his eyes to look to another place than to Arianne's eyes, he then thought that it may be something wrong with her... maybe. - "Arianne, we all saw Dememoras' illusion, during the battle... maybe you were cursed with something... we must." - even during a mating season Eriol would have been able to control himself far better, because he knows when it happens and for how long. But this is NOT the mating season.

"Nothing is wrong, my love. I feel great, and so do you! I know you love me, and that you... want me. Do you see something wrong? Smell something? I can see you are tense again. Tell me, what is bothering you? Is your mind telling you to do one thing, but your body telling you to do another?" Arianne's tone was sweet and sensual, even more so than usual. Her every word dripped with sensuality, though, which was not normal for her.

Something was really, really weird here. Was this a curse? A blessing? Both? How did this happen?

Meanwhile, Margas managed to reach the safety of Minna's palace where he was rushed to a waiting bed. Ilsa, took a seat next to him, her eyes not leaving his. underneath his armor , she could see a number of deep purple bruises the results have having the armor driven into his skin.. "those look like they hurt..' she said sadly " It could be worse.. I've sustained worse..' Margas replied, showing a small smile..
Minna set the staff aside-it had indeed healed some of her lesser injuries- and rested against a pillow..the battle had left her drained.. she would be in shape to fight again for at least a couple hours.
Winner of these:

This are getting grim for Eriol, as he cannot get to think clearly. - "S-Something is wrong with you... mating season is over you cannot be... smelling like this... you cannot." - he grabbed his head with both hands as he closed his eyes and attempted to walk backwards, but a wall prevented that.

"This must be something Dememoras did!" - Eriol opened his eyes again, he began thinking about taking her to see a healer, or a mage, or both... but he cannot get to be able to even walk without thinking in the form of her body, her scent, her eyes. But he was not able to resist. - "I KNOW THIS IS YOUR FAULT DEMEMORAS!. STOP MESSING WITH ME AND MY WIFE!" - he yelled in a vain attempt to do something to clear his mind.

"Calm down, Eriol. You need to relax. Really. How can you be so upset near me? Don't I calm you down? I know that seeing me like this can make you... excited, but if you would just come over here, we can spend some time together." The ruse wasn't working.

Arianne decided to try something different. "It's the pheromones, isn't it? Why do you keep trying to fight it? I know what you want. Everything is fine. You are with your mate, my love. Do you know how many panthers would love to be in this situation, with an attractive mate who loves them?"

Eriol looked at Arianne, but with every word coming from her mouth, the less she sounded like herself. - "You've got to be kidding me. We... You are out of the mating season for this year, this is  unnatural." - Eriol's mind was right, it is unnatural for Arianne to be emitting the pheromones, specially since she is pregnant!. But his instincts tell him otherwise, after all, the mating season is the only chance for most Gaean species to have children.

The male Gaean panther saw how Arianne began walking towards him, still looking like if she were "less pregnant", but the only light inside the room is the sun light that manage to get through holes and damages sections of the roof. He then suddenly extended his right arm as a sign of warning - "Please, don't come any closer... something is happening here, something that we may need help to figure out and solve because I am not a Mage or a Healer."

Arianne could see that she was not getting though to him. Standing up, she looked very annoyed. "Eriol, I'm under no curse, there is nothing wrong and- oh, why do I bother? Don't you think it was odd that your beloved wife should come back from the dead miraculously and on such short notice, be able to find you here, in a place hardly known of back where we come from? Didn't you find that in the least bit suspicious?"

Taking a breath, Arianne continued. "In any case, it was Dememoras who sent me to you. He gave me life, and put me on the path toward finding you. In exchange, I have to get you to join his cause. He also 'fixed' me so that we can have a family whenever we want. He can do so much for you, my love. Do you want to be free from the curse? He can make that happen. Do you want to see our son again? He can make that happen too. All you need to do is to stop fighting him and join us."

Eriol looked at his wife, if she really is his wife. - "What made you do this? the Arianne I met and fell in love with was not like this." - he sighed as he leaned against the wall. - "It looks like you made a deal with that demon Dememoras, but the Arianne I knew would not do that because she was better than that... she was stronger than me or anybody else."

Then, the Gaean Panther sighed. - "I cannot believe this. It is all so.... unreal." - he paused for a moment. - "I am no hero, in fact, I am a bad guy because I have done things that could horrify most members of the party we belong to. But still... what makes you think I could join Dememoras?. He is worse than the guy that caused the slaughter at the end of the last Great War 18 years ago." - Eriol remembered the final day of the last Great War because he was a witness there, even if he was still 11, and he still feels that half his soul died that day... as two great friends died that day too.

"I am Arianne, my love. How can you deny that? My scent, my looks, my voice, and the fact that I know you should be proof enough of who I am. I know the secrets of your heart, Eriol, and you know mine. How can you say I'm not real?" Unfortunately for the one claiming to be Arianne, her belly continued to shrink, as if there was no child in her at all.

There was a ruse at work, and it was starting to fail. Eriol was no fool. "We can go away, you know. There's no need to argue. Most panthers would love to live a life of ease with their mates and families, apart from all the bloodshed and strife... and after such a hard life, you deserve it, my mate."

Eriol looked at Arianne, his eyes getting sharper. - "You are right... most Panthers would like that, but I am not one of them, not if my mate is becomming in some sort of a fake... not even a shadow of what the real Arianne is and that I loved for above everything!."

At this time, Eriol was a mess of mixed emotions, he doesn't know what to believe but his mind is beginning to gain the control of his actions, above of what his heart may want to say. - "We will handle this mess, I will go get a Healer. So you will stay here until I get back." - he said with a very serious tone of voice, like he was ordering Arianne to stay where she is as he began walking, cautiously, to where his things are.

Arianne stood up and cast a spell, generating a large gust of wind, which knocked Eriol down the ground, lying on his back. She looked at him, now appearing to no longer have a child in her at all. "I can't let you get a weapon, my love, and you can forget about your armor, too. If you don't trust me, I see no reason why I should either. Do you think a healer can just snap his fingers and "undo" this? Nothing can, dear. There's nothing to heal."

Moving around to Eriol, she put her right foot on his chest. "Don't try to resist, dear. I'll have us in Dememoras' court in no time. But first, I need to figure out how to keep you... comfortable for the trip." Arianne was about average in terms of strength for a female of her kind. Eriol was much stronger than she was. If this truly was Arianne, the female looking down on the black-furred warrior must have known that she could not hold him down by her strength alone; she counted on Eriol's unwillingness to hurt his mate to prevent him from doing anything against her.

Eriol shook his head as he got an uneasy landing due to Arianne's gust spell, and as she put a foot on his chest he said. - "Well, dear, I truly suggest you get that foot away." - his tone of voice was not less serious, nor his eyes less sharper.

As this was happening, the male Gaean was thinking in what could be his move. - "I-I cannot just try an attack, what if she is really her." - he raised a bit, leaning on both his forearms. - "but if she is a fake, I must still be careful, she is still a powerful mage." - He then decided to speak. - "Will you get that foot away now? because I want to save your time on trying to find a way to get me to see Dememoras under your terms."

Arianne looked down at her mate, wondering if this was true, or just a ruse. "Do you really want to join Dememoras now, my love, or are you just telling me what you think I want to hear?" The female panther extended the claws on her foot, biting into Eriol's skin, although there was no intention to cause harm, yet.

"I think I know what to do. Regardless of whether you are telling me the truth or lying, I still have to bring you back to the master, alive or otherwise. It makes no difference if you are telling the truth or lying to me. His armies will take us to him when we go there. I suppose it would be easier if you came along willingly, but I don't see that happening." Extending her claws on his chest so that the began to actually cut him, she continued "I'd like to believe you, my love, but it would be safer if I just subdued you now and dragged you unconscious before the dark master.

With that, Arianne swiped her foot back, cutting Eriol's chest with her claws, leaving four bloody lines on his chest all the way down to his stomach.

Eriol yelled in a combination of pain and anger as he quickly moved his left hand and grabbed Arianne's ankle before it can do more damage - "GET OFF ME TRAITOR!!". - he moved his hand away making her to fall in the process.

He got up, making a defensive stance, but keeping his left hand pressing on his chest. The damage was not big, but it is painful, so he is making his stand just using his right hand. - "That was a treacherous move, dear, but it will not be that easy to take me see your 'Dark Master'." - he made sure to pronounce the word 'dear' very sarcastically. He is getting convinced that she is anything but the real Arianne, but he is not fully convinced yet, however, he will make his best to prevent more damage made to himself from whatever he is now facing to.
