Ruby continued to run even after she was sure she'd gotten away from the flying rock, and bumped into something, inadvertently knocking her onto her back with a startled "Ow." She then looked up and noticed what she'd bumped into was someone she knew and she smiled as she stood up again and replied, "Good to see you Zaine as now I can see you too!"

Azure smiled at the fact Twiz was there to help protect her and Flip.
"Thank you Twiz." she said with pride.

Pearl looked around for Longtail and asked, "Where is he?"

Cyrix wish he could've answered her but he honestly didn't know where his nephew was.

Longtail groaned as he tried to stand up, but feel over having been too close to the tree and now had several deep red gashes across his back.

The flyer sighed and replied, "Alright...something obviously isn't right here...so take my to whoever is in charge around here."

Kit and Petrie nodded, and both spoke at the same time,

"That'd be Longtail"
"That'd be Littlefoot"

Then the two looked at eachother after having said different dinosaurs.

"Sorry, she's right" Petrie laughed, "Longtail is kinda in charge of operations right now, I just...well, I'm so use to Littlefoot handling stuff".

"Anyway, it's back this way" Kit said, pointing and then flying out to show they way.

"So...you really don't know anything of the big disaster that just hit?" Petrie asked as they flew.

Greg and Dil dashed over to Longtail.

"Oh crap, he looks hurt," Greg said. "What should we do mom?"

Zaine noticed something bump into him. He looked down and noticed Ruby standing in front of him. "Thank the beyond you are ok Ruby. We were worried about you. Especially after that flying rock that came in."

Littlefoot lowered his head towards Ruby. "It's good to see you're alive Ruby. Have you found anybody else? I can't seem to find the others anywhere."

The flier looked shocked as she continued to fly and asked, "Wait...did you just say Longtail? As in Longtail Skyfire?! He's in charge of keeping this valley together?"

Ruby looked up at Zaine and Littlefoot and sighed, "Well...no. I haven't found anyone. I think that they may have all....died. Or just are too scared to come out of hiding. What do you two think we should do?" She asked hopefully wondering if they would call off this crazy search and meet the others back under the Tree of Life, not realizing it was no longer there.

Dil looked over at Longtail and could see his wounds and she turned to Greg and shook her head. "There is nothing we can do. We can only hope he's well enough to wake up and stand." She didn't like saying that about a flyer she'd known to be tougher than a boulder, but those wounds looked really bad.

Pearl gave a screech as she finally saw Longtail sprawled on the ground. She rushed over and horrified to see him covered with so many wounds in his back, but relieved as she could also tell Longtail was still breathing.

Cyrix was right behind Pearl and didn't realize he was shaking until he reached out to try and shake Longtail awake, then thought better of it.

Azure after seeing Longtail turned away and hugged Twiz as tightly as she could.

"Hello there", Shorty said to the newcomer (Ruby). "You must be a friend of Littlefoot and his friends, aren¥t you? I didn¥t see you before though. Anyway, good that you are alive", Shorty said with a slight smile.

Ecco and Scarface also came over to show themselves to the newcomer. "Hi, my name is Ecco and that is Scarface", he said as he pointed at his friend.

Littlefoot glanced at Shorty. "Yeah she's another friend of ours. She and Chomper both came to the Great Valley a long time ago. I'm pretty sure you met her once before." He then looked at Ruby. "There has to be somebody left alive around here somewhere, but the others are probably worried sick about us. Somebody should probably go back and let them know we're still ok."

Zaine didn't feel like he was much help at the moment, but this seemed like the perfect chance to finally do something. "I'll go find the others. They probably haven't heard from us in a while."

"You sure?" Littlefoot asked.

"I'm sure," Zaine assured.

"Well you're not going alone. Somebody needs to go with you. Any volunteers?"

Littlefoot nodded. "Ok Zaine. Go back and find the others. Tell them where we are."

Zaine sighed. "I just hope we can find them ok." He glanced at Ecco. "Let's go Ecco."

Ruby watched Zaine, Scarface, and Ecco walk off going to find Longtail and the others still wondering if they were alright, she looked to Littlefoot and asked, "I know searching for survivors is important, but what else can we do? I feel so...lost when I see the valley like this."

The flyer scoffed aloud as she flew.
"Yeah I know him...selfish, arrogant, and such a fool he is! Why if he weren't leader of a herd, I'm sure someone here in the valley would've tried to kill him already!" she said aloud with anger and contempt in her voice.

Against everyones surprise and looks of anguish, Longtail opened his eyes slowly, and tried to stand up, and for a moment he was doing well, but his legs were shaky and he was sure he'd fall any moment.

Pearl however along with Cyrix and Dil all realized what was happening and they rushed forward and kept him standing upright.

"Don't worry Longtail, we won't let you fall." said Pearl with a smile on her beak and a happy tear in her eye.

Petrie and Kit both looked shocked at the flyer's words.

"I...I know he can be reckless..." Kit began, "but...why would you say that? I've never noticed Longtail to be selfish...um, not really arrogant...I don't think..." she thought through everything she said.

Petrie frowned, "I think Mr. Threehorn did have his issues before with him...but yeah, still, if he was, he isn't now...probably".

Littlefoot sighed. "I know what you mean. I never expected this to happen to the Great Valley. Quite frankly, I don't think anybody imagined this was possible. Finding survivors is important, but what's the point if we have nothing established as a home? Maybe while Zaine is out looking for Longtail and the others we can start trying to find some place to temporarily call a home. Then we can regroup and figure out what to do from there." Littlefoot turned to the rest of the group. "Anybody opposed to that?"

Meanwhile, Zaine was making great progress in looking for Longtail. Or at least, that's what he thought. The reality was he was just going deeper and deeper into the now dead Great Valley. If he hadn't known better, Zaine would have mistaken it for the Mysterious Beyond. "Longtail?" he called out, hoping he would hear a response. "Longtail? Where are you?" He glanced over at Ecco and Scarface. "You guys see anything yet?"

Twiz turned and listened to Littlefoot's plan, and couldn't find any problem with the suggestion except any danger in moving...but then there wasn't much option.

"Sounds like the best we've got" he admitted.

Longtail could faintly hear a voice calling out for him...but he couldn't tell which way it was coming from but he did recognize it and he took a deep breath as he cried out. "ZAINE!!!"

Pearl continued to hold and support her mate hoping his wounds wouldn't hurt too much longer. "Please just be careful Longtail." She whispered to herself.

Cyrix kept his hold on Longtail as well to make sure he wouldn't fall and injure himself further.

The female flyer just huffed aloud and replied in spite, "Well I wouldn't be surprised if Longtail didn't cause this problem to begin with...he is a curse upon our land and useless half-breed! His kind need to be wiped clean from our world."

Ruby nodded with a slow but brutal acceptance of Littlefoots plan about leaving the valley. "This place is....just a place, and I'm sure, we'll find other just like this place...only nicer and, alive." she commented with a sniffle and a tear.

"Maybe, just maybe, our valley will be back to normal one day. It has done that before, yep yep yep," sighed Ducky.

"I hope so, sweetie. I really do," said Renn as he took Ducky's hand. Spike and Aurelia continued to search for survivors.

"I feel so bad for Cera and Tricia, losing their folks this way. Then again, I feel sorry for everyone," Aurelia whispered to Spike.

"So do I," Spike whispered back.

"You sure we were suppose to find you?" Petrie asked the flyer, "I thought we were looking for allies of Longtail".

"Anyone who knew him actually, and actually any survivors is a good thing" Kit said, "and...well everyone's entitled their opinions" she shrugged.

Petrie just scowled, "Alright, let's get on with dropping her off then" he didn't hid his words as he flew ahead and they neared where the group was suppose to be.

"I survived because I was smart!" She then got a cold look on her face as she asked, "did that fool Longtail have any hatchlings, cause I hope some of them died too...the thought of more Longtail's running around...is just wrong!"

Longtail was now standing straight up, and was breathing normally, but he was still tired, and his wounds didn't make it any better.

Pearl and Cyrix were both standing close by.

Dil turned to Greg and asked, "Son do you know of anything that can heal wounds like this?"

Ruby then asked Littlefoot, "Well, once we all agree on leaving, which way should we go? And what if the ways out of the valley are blocked?"
