Longtail caught on to how Kit felt about the great wall...almost everyone here felt it meant something important..."But it is the only way out....and now I suppose keeping the sharpteeth out isn't our biggest problem...as there won't be anyone left for them to terrorize once we all leave."

Cyrix then steppe forward and looked around for a moment.
"Well then...we're going to need the strongest dinosaurs for this then...and the closest edge of the valley wall would be to the south."

Sweetie then spoke up, "Uhhh...I can go scout the w-"

Longtail however cut her off by squeezing her neck tighter, but not enough to hurt her. "No...I still don't trust you...you're staying where I can keep a claw or two on you at all times."

Pearl still wasn't sure keep her alive at all was a good idea, but now wasn't the time to voice that concern as she was sure that survival was the most important thing right now.

"Well whatever the case we need to think of something," Littlefoot said. "Last time we made a hole in the Great Wall by accident, but it looks like we'll need purposely break it this time."

"I'll go," Zaine volunteered. "Maybe I can knock some of those boulders down or something. Plus if there are any straggling sharpteeth left around I'll deal with them." He then glanced over at Sweetie. "I want her to come with me. Then once we get the wall open she can fly back and alert the rest of you."

"Are you sure," Littlefoot asked.

"Longtail won't have to be around her, and she won't get the chance to kill him or do something else she would regret. Just so I am not alone is all."

Littlefoot nodded and looked at Longtail. "Let her go Longtail."

Longtail glared at Sweetie before letting her go and flexing his claw.
"Do anything to hurt Zaine, or get us in trouble, and I will see you dead." he commented with a serious look in his eyes.

Sweetie rolled her eyes and said, "Fine whatever." She then flew over and landed gently on Zaines back. "Hi, there handsome. How ya doing?" she whispered with a sly smile.

Cyrix turned to Chomper and said, "Perhaps you and Rita can lend a claw to opening the hole in the wall...your strength would make a difference."

Twiz, meanwhile, knew his mate Azure was going to have issues with this. She was like the rest of her siblings minus Petrie, he'd noticed, she didn't leave the Valley unless she had to and she'd already voiced her worry over their leaving.

"You...ok?" he asked, taking up one of her wings, his smile saying don't worry, we'll be fine

((Brekclub I admire your enthusiasm, but I don't think we're that close to the Wall just yet. Maybe in a few more posts we will get there, but we aren't lightning fast

Zaine almost rolled his eyes when Sweetie plopped on his back. Let's just get this over with. "Sweetie will return when we've opened the wall."

Littlefoot nodded. "Good luck you guys, and please be careful. I don't want you to die."

"Sure thing," Zaine winked. He then turned to Longtail. "Don't worry about her. I'll keep an eye on her. You just keep everybody safe. See you later." With that he then turned and headed towards the direction of the wall. Apparently Chomper and Rita were already making progress. "Hey wait up guys!"

Longtail sighed and looked to the sky as if asking for an answer to a question he didn't want to ask.

Pearl stepped over to Twiz and Azure and asked, "Are you two alright. I know you don't like leaving the valley Azure...but it's our only chance for survival."

Azure sighed as she looked into Twiz's eyes and gave a soft smile. "I know we'll be fine...as long as we stay together as a family."

Sweetie decided to speak up since they were working together.
"So Zaine...how did you come to know that freak Longtail huh? A cute guy like you with a monster like him?"

Twiz smiled, "Yeah, we will be" he assured. As if reminding him of the whole family, little Flip had made his way to climb up on his dad's head and giggled as he almost fell down. Twiz caught him though, "You have no idea the serious stuff going on, do you?" he asked his son, sounding almost glad of the fact.

Flip just giggled. Now that he couldn't exactly see immediate danger it was forgotten by the toddler flyer.

From where she watched, Kit smiled, not sure if Flip's naivete was a good thing or a bad thing. One thing was for certain, in a world like what it looked like faced them, little ones like the hatchling were usually the first...no, she pushed that thought aside.

Zaine glared at Sweetie. "That monster is my best friend, and if we are going to talk about him I would appreciate you not insulting him like that." He then looked back at the road, recalling the first time he met Longtail. "I was new to the valley when I met him. I had come here alone in search of a home, but my herd wasn't with me. At the time I was kind of a loner. I stayed away from others and kept to myself. Then one day, I ran into him. He helped me become friends with Littlefoot and the others, and he helped become happier." He smiled while thinking about it, but then his smile faded. "And then Kor happened."

Littlefoot looked over towards Kit. She certainly seemed troubled, or at least something was on her mind. I wonder if this is affecting her a lot. Sure everybody's taken a hit from this whole thing, but she seems to be taking it the hardest.. Littlefoot approached her. "Kit are you ok?"

Sweetie blinked as he mentioned the name...."You mean the Red horn leader? I've met him before...and he mentioned Longtail only once...but he said something about learning how to torture a freak by breaking his heart...or something like that." She then cleared her throat and said, "Well...please continue your story."

Pearl was facing Twiz and Azure and noticed out of the corner of her eyes she could see Longtail shedding tears, but still looking up into the darkened sky.

Azure couldn't help but smile at Flips optimism despite the situation. She was glad that the hatchling could be so care free at a time like this with everything going on. "So young...and so full of life." she said aloud with a light laugh.

Cyrix stepped over to Longtail and tapped his nephew on the shoulder, and then held up his two hatchlings. "I think these two would like their father to hold them."

Longtail then reached out and gently cuddled both of his children for once seeing something that brings a smile to his face.

Hunter and Dil smiled at the sight.

"Huh?" Kit had to admit she was startled out of her own thoughts a bit as she shook her head and glanced up at Littlefoot. She smiled, "Y-yeah, I'm fine" she half lied, "it's just..." she turned back to look at where Flip and Longtail's own hatchlings were.

"I never got why our parents and such worried about us so much until...Littlefoot I know I can handle this world" she said turning to her friend, "but I just worry if the little one's like them can" she indicated the hatchlings.

Twiz smiled, "I guess it runs in the family" he mused, "being carefree despite the serious stuff the grown-ups are talking about".

Littlefoot nodded. "I know what you mean. My grandpa once told me that when I first hatched I didn't have a care in the world. I didn't even realize just how serious the journey to the Great Valley was." He looked at the little ones and smiled. "To be honest it's better that they don't know the full extent of what we are going through."

Zaine sighed. "Kor was a gigantic mess, but eventually they finished their business and now we haven't seen Kor since." He then thought of his other adventure with Longtail. "That wasn't as crazy as when the second stone of cold fire landed though." He closed his eyes and remembered the visions he had of his mother. "An egg eater named Ozzy tried to use the power of the stone to enslave the Great Valley. In the process, he kidnapped both Littlefoot and Longtail. We rescued them, so he turned to me and almost killed me."

Sweetie was rather surprised by Zaines stories, but then recalled a sleep story she had as a hatchling.
"I seem to remember a sleep story, where Longtail was....taken over I guess by some ancient and long forgotten evil...and he caused death and destruction for weeks before a longneck and a fast-biter took him down...do you...know anything about that?" she asked.

Pearl stepped up behind her mate and cuddled both him and her two hatchlings.
"I'm so proud of all of you....for being so strong." she said with a loving smile.

Ruby turned to Twiz while saying, "Being carefree is something everyone can do...and sometimes it is for the better."

Hunter stepped forward and cleared her throat.
"I don't mean to be a burden, but shouldn't the others have reached the great wall by now? It just seems a bit too quiet." she said with concern.

Kit smiled, "Yeah, you're right, I'm all for letting them be kids as long as they can; it did us alot of good I know".

Twiz turned to Ruby and smiled, "and once again you just put it perfectly, Ruby" he said sincerely. He then heard Hunter and turned to him, "Oh, yeah, they could already be there by now I bet" he realized looking to the others to see if and who wanted to go check.

Littlefoot looked down in the direction to the Great Wall. "I'm sure they are there by now. The Great Wall isn't too far away and I don't see any signs of sharpteeth anywhere." He then felt what Hunter was referring to. It was indeed too quiet. Then again, a destroyed Great Valley wouldn't have any life or sound in it anymore.

Zaine didn't want to remember that terrible event, but he knew he couldn't forget it. "That was no sleep story. It actually happened, here in the Great Valley. Longtail was taken over by an ancient evil in the form of a black mist. The fast biter was a friend of ours named Dante. As for the longneck," he blinked a tear before continuing. It was hard retelling this story because of the pain Longtail was put through. "I was the longneck. That day the evil turned him into a monster, but I still saw the good inside of him and I knew he was still there trying to fight whatever was controlling him. There were plenty of times where he would have killed me and Dante had the real Longtail not stopped him. Eventually we managed to break the evil away from Longtail, but it was the most horrific day that I can remember." He shook his head to rid himself of the tears and looked up. They had reached their destination. He then glanced over to Chomper and Rita.

"Ok here we are. Any ideas Chomper?"

"I can certainly try," Zaine nodded. He glanced back at Sweetie. "You're helping too right? Let's get to work on those big rocks." Zaine approached the main rocks and started pushing against them with his entire body. He knew it was going to take a whole lot of strength to move them, but he wasn't going to give up just yet.

"Hey. Looks like they need help over there," Aurelia said to Spike as she looked over toward the rock wall. Spike stopped what he was doing and looked in the same direction.

"You're right. I hate to say it, but I don't think we'll have any more luck finding survivors here," Spike said. "Let's go talk to my sister and Renn, then let's head over there to help." The two made their way over to Ducky and Renn. Ducky was still visibly devastated, and Renn was doing his best to bring her comfort. He was holding her as she still wept.

"It's been a rough day," said Spike. "Rough on all of us."

"We were just headin' over to help the others break that wall down. Y'all outta come with us. Looks like we're not stayin' here," said Aurelia. Renn looked at Ducky, whose face was tear-streaked.

"We can't stay here forever, sweetie. Let's go join the group," Renn whispered as he stood up.

"Okay," sniffled Ducky as she tried to stand but was too weak to do so. Aurelia nudged her gently from behind as Renn pulled her up. Ducky sadly glanced at her sister's final resting place one last time before the foursome headed over to join the group.

Sweetie took a moment as she flapped her wings and gave Zaine a gentle lick on his head as she whispered, "I'm sorry if I brought up any bad memories." She then moved and began pushing rocks that looked loose and easy to move.

Hunter smiled at Littlefoots words and nodded her head. "This...this may be our last chance at a new home. And I'm hoping Dante is somewhere around here...a-alive..."

Ruby stepped closer.
"Don't worry Hunter, a survivor like Dante is sure to survive."

Littlefoot nodded. "If I know Dante, he's out there somewhere waiting for us. Maybe we'll run into him later on." Littlefoot then glanced over down the path and noticed the Great Wall hadn't been opened yet. Then he noticed Ducky, Spike, and a few others were also heading towards the wall, and another rush of hope spread through his body. "It's Ducky and Spike! They're alive and they're heading to the Great Wall! I don't know about you guys, but I think it's time to stop waiting around and help them out."

Zaine had absolutely no idea what Sweetie was trying to do, but the lick she gave him both alarmed him, surprised him, and yet soothed him. It seemed like she was sincere enough to try and make him feel better, but what was the hatred between her and Longtail stemming from? Confused, Zaine shrugged it off and continued to push on the boulders. Just then, he noticed more dinosaurs coming to the group, and he recognized them all. "Ducky! Spike! Aurelia! Renn! You're ok!"
