The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

I've decided to make a short Photoshop tutorial on using the clone stamp tool.  It's a rather simple tutorial.  I simply modify the image I have in my signature so that there's more grass.  Let me show you what I mean.  This was the original image:

If you'd like to download this video tutorial, you may download it here:

I will never have the ability to stream these tutorials because you really need to be able to see them full screen.

Well first you have to create the six different images, which requires math and the selection tool (and a lot of time and patience).  You have to choose dimensions that are divisible by 3 lengthwise and 2 widthwise.  Then you have to put text on them.

After that you have to arrange them in your signature using A LOT of bbcode and some HTML.  This is my signature code:

Yeah, you have to create an animated GIF.  To do that, you need to have some frames, which you can easily re-size or even create from scratch in Photoshop.  Then you can put them together and compress them.  You can put them together in a program called Easy GIF Animator (not free).  Then GIF compression is a bit more tricky.  I have an illegal portable version of Photoshop CS2 because back in the days of CS2 there was a nifty little program called Image Ready.  It's not included in the modern photoshops, but that thing can compress GIF's like you wouldn't believe.

Not that I know of.  That's what Image Ready was for.  But perhaps since they stopped releasing a new version of Image Ready with each version of Photoshop, some or all of the features of Image Ready are now integrated into the newer Photoshop versions.  I'm not sure.  I just do what works and portable Image Ready CS2 works for me.

Nice!  Might come in handy for my ever improving LBT website design. :)
