Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

Happy New Years everyone!

So back in somewhere in June I started to collect information on this topic and decided to see what it would look like at the end of the year. So let's see how we did:



Back in June we had already beaten the next biggest year (2013) and back then I was hoping to see if we could double it and break 2000. In the end we managed to get up to 1,422 posts, which is about a 33% increase to 2013's value of 1,070 and an average of 3.9 posts per day. So now let's look more in depth into 2017:



At first I thought that maybe summer months are not as active as winter months given the strong start with the first couple months. August was pretty brutal and pretty much just consisted of Sovereign and I bouncing back and forth every now and then (a total of 15 posts for the month). In November I thought that maybe we're climbing back into the winter months for activity but I'm pretty sure that the surge there was due to the conversion of the GoF. Things seemed to die down again after after a week or so.

That's it for breaking things down. Next I did a simple graph showcasing our progress over time compared to the goal of reaching 10,000:



And finally a projection:



If we continue at 2017's pace we would meet our goal in 2021.34, so about a third of the way through 2021.

Other random stats that I've taken note of:
-Vilstrup got the post for 9,999
-Rhombus got 8,888
-Ducky123 got 7,777
-Flathead770 got 6,666
-The countdown story had a total of 73 posts in 2017, resulting in 918 words.

That's it. I'll keep keeping track of this topic in 2018 since I already have the groundwork in place. Here's hoping for an even better year in 2018!

In recent years, I have gained an interest in the production of The Land Before Time, particularly the deleted scenes of the original film. New discoveries have been made in the last few years and continue to be made, so I feel that it is a good time to contribute.

I have always loved sharpteeth more than any other creatures in the franchise, such as the fourteenth film's Carnotaurus, the fifth film's Sharptooth, and #1 by far - the original Sharptooth.

I'm glad you guys enjoyed it. I've been wanting to show it for quite a while now :lol

Now that the excitement has passed I better get back to the story at hand. Don't worry Sovereign, I haven't forgotten :p

For Leventell or anyone else, to help make posting here more interesting, Sneak came up with the idea to take turns writing a couple words to a story (about 10 or so). Now since it's gotten up to about 1000 words it might be hard to look back to see what has happened so far to join in. Luckily I've been prepared and have been compiling it all together so if anyone is interested in joining in I can post it so you can easily get caught up.

I think if I didn't come with that idea, we would get 10000 faster though, because I think some people started to fear to post here without posting new line for story.
