As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

I'm sorry for the recent slowness of my server.  I just looked at the status today and it seems that the average download speed has dropped from 1.7mbps to 53kps!  My cousin Chris recently came over and started downloading torrents on his laptop.  Slowed down my entire network. :rolleyes: He left it on all night and I just caught him downloading more crap.  I can't spare 20gb of bandwidth for PS2 games! :nyah And the network slowness his downloading caused is unacceptable.  I helped him configure his version of uTorrent so it won't cause network-wide slowdowns, but he won't be using my bandwidth for that crap anymore. :p I just noticed how slow things were when I tried to upload a photo to my server.  Took 14 seconds to upload a 400k file! :o
