The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

"Count me in," Cera said.  "I know we will be in so much trouble, but so what?  It's not the first time we've done this."

"I am coming too, yep yep yep," a voice spoke up.  Cera looked in the direction it came from just in time to see Ducky emerge from some bushes.

Littlefoot nodded. "Me too, Petrie. I guess we're just lucky that it found it's way back in one piece." Then he noticed Ducky come out of the bushes. "Ducky? What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be back with your family?"

"She wants to help us," Zaine answered. "She has the exact same idea that we all do."

"Are you sure Ducky?" Littlefoot asked. "I don't want to sound like a grown up, but this is going to be very dangerous. We're going up against Screech and Thud, not to mention Red Claw as well."

"We've been up against them all the time," Zaine noted. "We outsmart them all the time. We can do it again."

"He is right, yep yep yep.  Besides, even though I am not the biggest or strongest dinosaur, I would do anything for my friends, yes I would," Ducky replied, doing her best not to show she was offended.

"Ducky's braver than any of us here.  She's going, and she can hang with me.  She'll be safe that way," Cera added.

"So... What's the plan, Mr. Threehorn?" Claw asked triceratops. He was still carrying the harpoon Chronicler had made for him and now was wondering, if it will do well as a weapon. After all, there was a possibility that they will have to fight against Screech, Thud and Redclaw to rescue Pangea...

"So, when do we prepare to move out?" Anna asked Mr. Threehorn.

"Should we head out at once or at a later time?" Mim asked.

------

"We follow adults or get Spike to use his sniffer?" Petrie asked, looking around at those around him.

“The plan is that we find those sharpteeth and teach them a lesson they’ll never forget!” Mr. Threehorn declared.

“It’s not that simple, Mr. Threehorn,” Rebecca said. “We have to get Pangaea back in one piece, too.”

“Well, obviously!” Mr. Threehorn exclaimed indignantly. “We’ll just find which sharptooth has him, and make it drop him!” He looked out at the small crowd of uncertain-looking valley dinosaurs. “And we’ll be a lot more likely to succeed if more of you cowards join!”

Mr. Clubtail took a step forward. “Who are you calling a coward?!” he shouted. “You’re looking to beat up some sharpteeth, fine; I’ll go!”

A few more of the Great Valley’s gutsier residents (and those who felt that their pride had been insulted by Mr. Threehorn) agreed to join the group.

“All right, then!” Mr. Threehorn said, “we move out now!” He looked to Guido. So did Rebecca.

For a moment Guido looked confused. “O–o–o–oh, right!” he said, realizing that the others needed him to show them where he he had seen Screech and Thud catch Pangaea. He paused for a moment to get his bearings. “Uhh…this way!” he said, and started off towards the Great Wall.

Mr. Threehorn followed him. “Hurry!” he called to the others. “Time is of the essence!”

Rebecca looked around for a moment, wondering where Amy was, before taking off and following as well.

Rick stepped up behind Zaine holding Longtail in his arms. "I'm coming too... and so is Longtail. I suppose I could just keep carrying him until we need him, unless someone here can wake him up." He then looked to Zaine. "Think you're up to waking your 'brother' Zaine?"

Spike walked into the clearing after following Ducky and gently nudged his sister with a smile, and then nodded his head at Petries idea as he began to sniff the air around their group.

Grandma Longneck sighed as Guido and Mr.Threehorn led the charge. "I do hope this  ends well. I would like to see Pangaea unharmed." she said as she began to fall into stop behind the other valley members.

Rob followed the group, but he noticed Zaine was missing as well. He figured Zaine had gone to be with Littlefoot and the others, but at the same time he sensed a defiant tone about the longneck. "I hope he doesn't do anything stupid." he muttered to himself. He looked back to Threehorn. "You know, there may be the possibility that Red Claw will have more sharpteeth nearby, maybe fast biters or worse. We should prepare for for a fight if something goes wrong."

Zaine noticed Longtail sleeping like a baby in Rick's arms, and he laughed. "Longtail would be the one to stay asleep through everything. I'll get him awake." He walked up leaned towards Longtail. He began to whisper "Hey Longtail. If you don't wake up right now, you're not going to get the chance to eat because Spike will eat all of your food."

Littlefoot was happy Spike showed up, but he was surprised that Rick had decided to go with them and not with the rescue party. "I figured you would have been with the others, but I'm glad you're here. We'll need somebody like you to help us out." He could hear movement close by, which meant that the party was leaving. "Ok guys. The rescue party is leaving. Let's follow them, but keep your distance. We don't want them to know we are there, but we don't want to lose them."

Grandpa Longneck walked along with the others.  His mate was going and he intended to go and assumed as one of the leaders of the valley it was assumed he would go also.  He hoped he could free the captive and get back with great valley resident being harmed to badly.

Mim walked along with the group as well, staying with the other dinos that were going and were about her size.

"Yea, we no want to be found by grown ups." Petrie said to the others.

Bron arrived at the last moment "I'm coming as well" he inquired. "Well, at least we'll outnumber them if Redclaw's gang happens to have Pangea,if not then things might get ugly" John explained.

Anna followed in line as well.

--------------------------------

"Well, it looks like we're ready to follow them.  Let's go already," Cera whispered.

"With the help of Spike's sniffer, we will be able to follow them, yep yep yep," Ducky said as she climbed up on Cera.

Longtail hearing Zaine's voice and what he said, forced the flyer to act on gut instinct as he said aloud before being fully aware of who was carrying him, "I warned you before Spike!" he then gripped his claws into the sides of Ricks arms.

Rick kept his mouth shut despite the pain of Longtail's claws in his arms. 'I forgot how sharp his claws tend to be...' thought Rick to himself as he looked Longtail dead in the eyes.

Longtail then opened his eyes and looked up to see Rick less than happy and gave an apologetic look as he replied, "Sorry... I thought Spike was stealing my food again."

Spike looked over at Rick and Longtail, his face showing his disapproval of being accused of such things. However he quickly returned to using his sniffer to keep tracking the grown ups of the valley.

Not far outside the valley, Screech and Thud ran along the path they had taken to find the valley entrance, returning to where they had left Red Claw. As they sprinted down a narrow canyon, they spotted the big sharptooth heading in their direction. He had obviously followed their trail to meet them halfway.

Red Claw! We have the glider!” Screech shouted triumphantly.

Red Claw grinned toothily. “Excellent!” he roared. “I can already taste that flyer’s flesh!

Screech was grinning as well. “And I’m ready to taste this one’s,” he chuckled eagerly, digging his claws slightly into Pangaea.

Red Claw’s face turned stone serious. “Not yet!” he growled. “The glider is useless to us dead!

I wan’t going to kill him!” Screech protested. He looked down at his captive with a murderous glint in his eye. “My plan was to wound him…repeatedly…for as long as possible…

Red Claw brought his head down to Screech’s level, snarling. “Don’t. Hurt. The glider.

Fine, fine,” Screech grumbled, rolling his eyes. “But only until you’ve caught your flyer.

Red Claw grunted in approval, then turned to Thud. “Now, Thud, I have a job for you.

Another one?!” Thud complained. “But we justó

Red Claw demonstrated that he didn’t need sighted eyes to deliver a death glare.

…Will do, boss,” Thud said meekly.

Good,” Red Claw said. “I need you to round up others of your kind. Tell them a large reward is in store for them if they cooperate.

What reward?” Thud asked.

If I know the leafeaters, they will send a herd to retrieve the glider,” Red Claw said. “Too many for the three of us to fight. If I am to get my jaws on that flyer, I will need to keep the rest of the group occupied. Those other fast biters will be the distraction. Once I have the flyer, they are free to whatever meat they have killed.

Oh, I get it,” Thud said, understanding.

Now get a move on!” Red Claw said. “They need to be in position before the leafeaters arrive!

Thud nodded, and without wasting another second, turned, and rushed off.

--------------------------------------------------

The party arrived at the base of the hills that sloped upward to meet the Great Wall.

“Here,” Guido said. “This is where I saw them grab Pangaea.”

Mr. Threehorn looked up the hill. “Where’s the nearest path out of the valley?” he asked.

Rebecca flew up high to look for the nearest opening in the Great Wall. She quickly spotted it, and returned to the ground.

“It’s a narrow pass,” she reported. “The one the farwalking spiketails use when they come here every cold time.”

“I knew that,” Mr. Threehorn muttered.

“Chomper,” Rebecca said, “use that sniffer of yours to find the fast biters’ trail. See if it leads to that pass.”

“All right,” Mr. Threehorn said, “we’re going uphill! Single file, everyone!”

Permitting Guido to ride on top of his head, Mr. Threehorn led the way up the steep slope.

Cool!  I haven't been hiking through mountains in so long, Anna thought to herself as she got in line and began to ascend.  Mountains were Anna's second most favorite outdoor feature to recreate in, water being first.  She then noticed her balance was off, and remembered she had never done this as a swimmer.

Use your tail!, Ducky's voice rang in her head.  Anna was still forgetful at times about having a tail.

"Oh, yeah," Anna chuckledto herself as she used her tail to balance herself.

----------------------------

"Do you smell them yet, Spike?" Cera asked.

"We be careful," Petrie whispered, "Not found out and told to go back." He said.

---

"Keep a lookout everyone.  They have to know we're coming." Grandpa Longneck said to some of the others.

"Indeed, planing an ambush would be a logical course of action on their part." Mim said from where she was.

As Rob began the trek up the mountain, numerous things began to circulate through his mind. He found himself asking a bunch of questions that he wasn't sure he wanted the answers to. What if Pangaea is already dead? What if we are walking to our deaths right now? What if Red Claw does ambush us and we can't fight them back? What if they head to the Great Valley? What if they reach Littlefoot, Zaine, and the others? He immediately shook his head of such things, trying to keep as optimistic view as possible. "I can't think things like this," he muttered to himself. "We'll save Pangaea, and we'll all get back alive."

Littlefoot led the others behind him as they followed Spike towards the rescue party. He looked around to make sure nobody was coming after them, and when he found nobody he was relieved. "I guess most of the grown ups are in the rescue party. That will make following them a bit easier." He couldn't keep his mind off of Rob for some reason. Rob mention something about the two of them before, but he couldn't quite make sense of it. "I wonder what Rob meant with what he said to me back there? How could the two of us be so connected if I only just met him?"

Zaine couldn't help but overhear Littlefoot's thoughts. "You would be surprised how much you can be connected to somebody even if you don't know them. I know how you feel, but I'm sure Rob will explain it once we settle all of this." Zaine then turned back to Longtail, who was still in the process of waking up. "Yeah, sorry about that Longtail. I didn't know how else to wake you. Listen, one of the newcomers has been nabbed by Screech and Thud, so we're going to rescue him. The grown ups can't know though, because we are following them."

John nearly lost his balance at first but soon regained it as he slowly trekked up the mountain, he was never sure about any of this and in his mind the thought of being Ambushed by Red Claw and his raptor duo ate away at his conscience.
