You get a cookie for the POTC soundtrack...that's almost in a league of its own, though you hear the same theme in nearly every track.  :P:

That is true, but at least this is a decent theme, in relatively small doses.

Wow! I suppose this length is sorta expected from a music man such as yourself Action! :D Do you see a career path in music for yourself at all?
OH, I wish B)
There are a few reasons why I wouldn't consider the music industry as a "realistic" profession:

1) The market is fairly saturated and there is a HUGE amount of competition.  I know so many people who are interested in music as a career path, and there is more supply of composers, musicians, mixers, and other music-related careers than there is demand for it.

2) The education for the field of music I'd like to get into (MIDI engineering, or basically anything to do with digital audio) is located on the opposite side of North America.  I am in Western Canada, and the school I would like to attend is in Boston (Eastern United States).  There are not any music programs related to what I would be directly interested in, in my area.

3) Many institutions for music training Require the student to be proficient on a musical instrument, and own their own.  1) The only musical instrument I own, is a cheap electronic keyboard that I use as a MIDI input device on my computer. 2) While I played trumpet for 6 years from grades 7 - 12, I am not very skilled on it, nor have I played a note on a trumpet for nearly 3 years.  I don't have the skill on a musical instrument to be taken seriously.

4) The job security isn't there in a lot of cases.  Jobs come and go quickly, and many are contract-based.  Also, the only jobs I would likely to be able to get in this area would be mixing for a news channel or something similar.  There isn't a large demand in this area of Canada (there is more demand in the States, but there is no way I'm moving there :p).  The jobs just aren't especially available in my area in this field.

5) Unless I could pay my own way, I wouldn't be able to go to school for any sort of art.  My father is currently paying for my education, and if it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have been able to go to school for quite some time.  Sadly, he doesn't believe in the value of the arts, and as a result, I have applied to and passed 1st year of an industrial program in a local technical college.  This program seems to have a number of job opportunities, and graduates are in very high demand.  The job security is there, but I must admit, the genuine interest isn't, so much (as can be seen by my grades in my courses :lol ).  As long as I need to rely on my family to put me through school, there is no way I'm getting training in the Arts.  I'm lucky I got to take Band throughout grades 7 - 12 and music theory courses from grades 10 - 12 :p

A career in music is certainly something I'm considering later in life (perhaps 5 - 10 years from now) but I can't rely on it at this point.  As a result, I must admit that life is a little bit depressing right now.

^ I think you've told me your life story before, Tim, but once again, sorry your dad doesn't see the music industry as a place where a career can be built.  So long as we like movies and audio cds, there will be jobs in the music industry....unfortunately, in this day and age, job security isn't a bad thing to have if you can find a way to get it.  ;)  At least pay off college first and then follow your dreams once you're pretty well set on your own.

Kinda into my Hardcore Trance at the moment (*cringes and ducks in case of anything launched at me). Hixxy and the Styles have me at their feet at the moment, especially "The Theme". I love listening to trance just before I head out for a night on the town. Really buzzes you up for the clubbing scene!  :D

My brother just recently got the new Chili's album. Haven't listened to yet but I'll get round to it. The album I'm trying to track down is Evanescence's latest one. I've got Fallen with "Bring Me 2 Life" and "My Immortal" on it but I don't think the others came out here. I've managed to swag a few tracks but I would like the entire thing. Anyone know what it's called?   Web searches so far have turned up empty. :(

Actually, Tim introduced me to this, you can keep watch on what I'm listening to...my list of what I'm playing right this instant (or pretty close) is posted at the bottom in that black box with gray text.  You can always click it to see what I've listened to recently.  :)   There's more stuff on there than I could ever put into a post.
