Had anyone else said it, Khan might have thought it cub-ish, but he couldn't think that way about Allison, "Well I suppose you should know more about this jungle's history if you're to help me rule it" he said, "how about I tell you about when I first took over for my mother?".

"Tell me about it" Katuksi sighed, "and usually those are the really cool places!".

Mowgli continued leading the 'troop' on until they came to the bottom of the steps of Louie's palace, or what once was.

"I'll make sure none of the...somebodies Baloo knew before are hanging about" he said, creeping up the stairs ahead of the group and peering. The entire ruin was deserted it seemed, and actually...without monkey's or partiers all over it, it wasn't a bad spot he noticed.

He turned back, "Coast is clear, and this place is actually kinda cool" he said.

"Wow" Miko breathed as they all made it up there, "wonder what kind of humans made this place".

Katuksi sent him a bored look, "who cares, there dead now so they don't matter".

With a giggle, Ranjan leapt up onto one of the pillars and started to climb his way up.

"Now you be careful there soldier" Elliott said, keeping an eye on the little one.

Haeso looked around astonished to how cool this place was. "Wow, this place is wicked awesome" Haeso said. But also keeping an eye on Ranjan making sure he caught him on his back if Ranjan fell.

"Wow, I can't believe how cool this place was" Kyano said.

"Yeah" Mowgli said with a laugh, "it'd be a pretty cool place to visit, you know if we knew we could at anytime, like I said Baloo and some of the other animals use it".

"Well what makes them so special" Katuksi said, "I say if we want to use it we should be given a fair shot at it".

"Aw forget it Katuksi" Miko said with a sigh, "no ever ever wins anything against adults, they're...older and in charge".

"Still, I'm liking how this fair shot sounds..." Mowlgi had to admit as he did something he'd always wanted to do and hopped up on King Louie's throne.

"Well when my mother finally noticed that she could no longer patrol the jungle properly, and also that I had reached about mid-adolescence she handed the responsibility over to me, though..." Khan grimaced, "it wasn't easy building respect, especially since those two annoying buzzards you might recall from when we were cubs still felt the need to make fun of me...".

Shere Khan mused how that was a common thread given Lucky and his gang's recent tirades.

"but, I took care of them fairly quickly" Khan smirked, "and then the jungle sort of listened up a bit more...even if some of the others criticized me for the action, but I was beyond caring what they thought".

"All Hail King Mowgli" Kyano said with a teasing bow as he saw Mowgli climb on to Louie's throne.

"Wonder how long this place has been abandoned." Haeso wondered out loud and just then Haeso dived out of the way as a nearby pillar that Ranjan wasn't climbing on crumbled to the ground.

"By the looks of it pretty long. Uhhhhhh, kid by the look of that last pillar you should probably slide down before you get yourself really hurt." Haeso yelled up to Ranjan.

Shere Khan smiled, "See, that's why you're amazing enough to be my mate, you just get things like this" he said, nuzzling Allison again.

"King Mowgli" Mowgli grinned, "I like it!" he looked around for a scepter like thing. "Great" Miko smirked over at Kyano, "you created a king" he teased.

Ranjan swung down to land on Haeso after his call.

"Aw the place doesn't look too bad, just needs a good dusting probably" Elliott said, looking it over.

"Hehe, I monkey!" Ranjan giggled.

"I thought you were pretending to be a tiger?" Miko asked, remembering earlier.

"Now I monkey" Ranjan insisted with another smile.

"I say he's confused" Katuksi smirked as she whispered to Haeso.

"King Louie!" Mowlgi leapt down from the throne in shock of seeing the Ape king suddenly here again.

"Uh, I was just...uh..." he tried to come up with an excuse.

"We...were just...you know, looking the place over" Miko said with a smile, as the kids were all worried Louie wouldn't like the fact that they were here hanging out around his old palace.

"Hey, no hard feelings cousin," Louie assured Mowgli and the others.

Allison and Shere Khan relaxed in the water for about a half hour more. "A place like this, just to ourselves, I couldn't ask for anything more perfect."

After a brief pause, she added "Wait, there is something more perfect: you Khan," she smiled romantically.

"Really?!" Mowgli looked shocked, then smiled, "Wow thanks King Louie, you know you're pretty cool despite Bagheera saying your a scoundrel...whatever that is" the boy shrugged.

Miko had to hold in a laugh at that, "I don't think it's any worse than what he's called Baloo" he admitted.

Mowgli smiled, "and it's probably good to have King Louie on our sides, that way if any of the other animals want their 'dance club' back he can talk them out of it".

"We'd have to let him still be the king, of sorts, though, if he did that for us" Miko added with a smile.

Katuksi rolled her eyes, "Yeah, 'cause he's gonna want to be the king of a bunch of cubs like us" she said sarcastically, "Please, he's got his dirty little monkey band for that".

Haeso laughed at Katuski's comment. " Yeah, I'd have a better chance at being the King of the cubs. Hey, that has a ring to it............."Haeso the king of the cubs" "Haeso said.

"Yeah, knew that somehow" Mowgli said, crossing his arms, yet with a small smile.

"That's ok, Mr. Louie has to be king to tell us kids the best way to do stuff I guess" Miko said, "but...only when we want advice...no bossing".

Ranjan giggled and once more got off Haesso's back to try climbing stuff, mainly the vines around where Louie was now.

"That kid sure changes his mind about what he wants to be. First he wants to be a tiger now he wants to be a Monkey how long before he wants to be a fish?" Kyano said looking up at Ranjan with a laugh.

"Oh, yeah I know that..... I..... I mean......we...... I mean......" Haeso said getting a little bit nervous that he had made Louie mad and that Haeso was trying to steal his position.
