The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

If LBT Celebrated Halloween

If Land Before Time Celebrated Halloween, what do you think the characters would dress up as?

IMHO, I think Ducky would dress up as a witch.

Littlefoot, Ducky, Petrie, and Spike would gather up some bones and branches, (carefully) paint themselves with tar, stand on top of one another, and see if it’s possible to fool Cera twice. :p :lol

Muahah! :p

I think petrie can just paint himself black, I still think he's scary when they meet him in the first movie!

Seriously Pangaea, that thing they were disguised as was scary enough to see the first time.  Still gives me the creeps. :p

As for Cera, I think she would say something like "Halloween is for babies!" and say that she won't go out with them.  Then, she would secretly dress up as something they wouldn't expect and would not recognize her in. :)

Hmm...  What about Ruby and Chomper?  What would they be?

I guess Chomper would dress up as Redclaw...  :p
But the idea of the scene in the first movie is a great idea.  :lol

Incidentally, twelve movies and three TV episodes after the rest of the gang spooked her with their “tar monster” disguise, Cera turned the tables on them (albeit inadvertently) in “The Star Day Celebration”, when she got a branch stuck on her horn and started thrashing around making angry noises as she tried to get it off, while all the others could see was her silhouette. Maybe Cera would do that again deliberately as a Halloween prank on the others, possibly in retaliation to the reprised tar monster stunt. :lol

I do at times wonder how she got that branch stuck on her horn :lol.

^ My guess is that she was pushing her way through some branches with her horn pointing forward, and it just happened to pierce one at a weak point. The branch looked to be dead, so she probably ended up tearing it off the tree, but couldn't dislodge it from her horn. :lol

Oh, I know what Littlefoot would do for Halloween! He’d paint a scar on the right side of his face, maybe have Ruby or some other manually capable friend tie a piece of vine to his tail, and go as the Lone Dinosaur! :p

Here's a rather silly idea, but one that I think could be funny: Tricia (probably with help from Tria or Topsy) paints herself yellow, finds some way to augment her nose horn so that it looks sharper and more prominent, and goes as Cera. :p

Cera herself would undoubtably (and probably correctly) see Tricia's costume choice as a sign of her little sister's respect for her, but when the rest of the gang sees Tricia, Petrie would remark, "That REALLY scary costume!" Cera would be annoyed, but get back at Petrie by pretending to be really angry and verifying the accuracy of his comment by chasing him. :lol

If crushed treestar is sticky maybe they could use some bits of sticks to make her horn larger like Cera's.   Sounds like a cute idea.

Yet, how would they paint Tricia as Cera is the big question.

^ They could probably find some yellowish clays or muds to use as paint. Or maybe ground-up yellow flowers mixed with water (though Cera might be inclined to save those as Halloween treats :p).

So far, I have assumed that the gang’s costume choices are limited to whatever they can create using the materials naturally available to them in the Great Valley, and that they could only dress up as things they were familiar with. If it is also acceptable to share suggestions of what the characters would do for Halloween if they had access to (and familiarity with) modern materials and costume options, then I have a bunch more ideas that are less realistic by LBT standards. :p

With Halloween over, I’m guessing there won’t be much more activity on this thread (not for another year, anyway), but I had a few more costume ideas for the gang I wanted to share, including some that would only make sense if the gang were familiar with modern-day Halloween traditions:

Chomper would put on a cape, maybe dust his skin with something that would make him look paler, and go as a vampire. (He’s already got the protruding front teeth. :p)

All Petrie would need to do is paint himself black and put on some false ears, and he could go as a bat.

I would expect Spike to dress up as something relatively simple: a ghost, perhaps. Alternatively, it might be appropriate if he dressed up as a dog, since his character was originally based on Don Bluth’s dog.

I can't really come up with anything for Ducky, but I think it would be funny if she chose a costume so frightening that it ended up scaring the heck out of the rest of the gang. :lol

Ruby’s even harder, but given her penchant for scary stories, I’m thinking maybe Hidden Runner or something.

I think that somewhere there are the characters with halloween costumes...this is going back years ago, but there was some sort of magazine out around that showed them in Halloween costumes..well, I hope there was...otherwise it seems that I dreamt that up..

But Petrie would defintley be a bat.
I sort of imagine Chomper as a vampire, with a neat little black cape.
Cera and Ducky could go as witches...whilst Spike could be a ghost....

Oops, forgot about Littlefoot, he could either be a vampire with a black cape or a pumpkin..or you could swap that around with Spike and Spike could be the pumpkin and Littlefoot the ghost?

^ Wow, I never even thought of Spike going as a pumpkin, but it sounds just right for him! :lol Only problem is, he'd probably end up trying to eat his costume. :p

In that case, maybe Littlefoot should be the pumpkin and Spike be the ghost?:p

^ Well, maybe they could just paint Spike orange and put a stem on him. :p

On the other hand, given Littlefoot's neck, if he wore a sheet over his head that covered his entire body, he might look more like a tent than a ghost. :P:
