'Right, stay here...' Whisper said to her father as he lay in a bed. 'And don't even think about getting up or I'll keep you down.'
Raiven gave a groan. 'I trust that you would actually go through with that... so I'll just have a sleep.' He looked over to the now empty injector upon a desk. 'Once those drug settle in, I'll be fine.'
'Good, I'm off to take care of your squib buddy, then I'm... I'm off to get some rest.'
Raiven tilted his head. 'You hesitated.'
'It's nothing, dad.'
'Don't go hiding things from me, Whisp. Please, not in a time like this.'
'It's nothing, okay?' She said, rather annoyed. She turned, and made her way to the door.
'It's Zoe, isn't it?'
Whisper stood at the door in silence. Then a moment later, she faced her father. 'Night, dad,' was all she said before she hit the light switch and closed the door.
Isodor pulled back on the throttle. 'Ugh, I can't go a minute without something hitting this ship. Get off, you damn robot,' he said, pressing the windscreen wipers on, in an effort to get Delta off the front.
'Hey squib, hold still,' Whisper said from behind, making Isodor jump a little.
'Don't do that! You should know by now I hate it when- OW!'
Whisper began to poke him in the back rather sharply. 'Does it hurt when I do that?'
'Of course it bloody well does! What the hell are you- OW!'
'How about now?' She poked a little lower.
'Ow! Stop it!'
'And... now?'
Isodor went silent. 'Do that... again,' he said.
She pressed her finger just above the area where his back leg connected to his higher hip bone, essentially part of a squibs spine.
'It's rather...'
'Rather what?' Whisper asked.
'...Numb...'
Whisper shook her head. 'Well, there's your problem Iso. I'm not a medical expert, but you might want to get that checked.'
'Uh huh,' he replied, leaning back in the chair and wheeling around to face her. 'And what happens if I don't?'
'You won't be walking for quite a while.'
With that, she left the room, leaving Isodor to stare at the closed door in silence.
Whisper then made her way to the room in which Zoe had gone into. The door slid open. 'Whew, what a day, huh?' Whisper said as she entered the room. 'How are you feeling? Any better that now you're lying down?'
She placed a hand gently on Zoe, and looked into her eyes with a smile. 'Hey, we're all okay. We made it.'
