Ruby and Chomper decided to follow. Just in case Cera did get herself into a tight situation, they could always help. It seemed that they can escape all the peril in the world as long as they were together.

"A forest, huh," Cleve said, "Well, I can't guarantee, but there might have been a secret lab underneath the forest. Did you notice anything strange before you disappeared? You know, strange things like spinning compasses, bad radio transmission, and unresponsive controls? Those are the signs..."
On hearing Adam's exclamation, Cleve dashed through the bushes towards the direction Adam pointed in and came face-to-face with the wreckage of the 109. Cleve was certain that the airplane was a 109. The pilot had somehow managed to land the machine somewhat intact in the middle of a forest. The left wingtip was sheared off, and the left landing gear was missing. The propellers were all bent and destroyed, and the aircraft balanced on its nose and right landing gear. The flaps were fully extended, and the pilot seemed glided to a fairly soft landing.
"The pilot ran out of fuel," Cleve stated with authority, "He lowered the flaps to glide as far as he could. When he reached the clearing, he tried to land his plane. But one of his wingtips struck a tree in the forest, and the came down hard on his left side. The left gear snapped, and the entire plane fell on its nose. Still, I believe that the guns will be salvagable. We might even find the body of the pilot. He might have made it out of this alive."
